This operator manual is a publication developed by TEREX Mining Australia’s Drill Operator Training Department, to be utilized as a training tool for drill operators who are completing a TEREX familiarization course on the safe operation of the TEREX R30 Drill.
The TEREX R30 Familiarization course has been designed to provide instruction and familiarization to competent drillers in the operation of TEREX THH Drills.
As a guide TEREX Has utilized the following National Mining Competency Standards as a reference; ADITC DRT03 in the preparation of this assessment, it does not constitute accredited training under the Australian Qualifications Framework. TEREX are not under any circumstances presenting this training course as accredited nor are TEREX a Registered Training Organization under the AQF.
The following Units of competency were utilized as a reference for the development of the assessment tool: DRTNHB01A / DRTNHB03A / DRTNHB04A / DRTNHB05A / DRTNHB06A / DRTNHB07A / DRTNHB20A / DRTNHB22A / DRTNHB23A / DRTNHB19A / DRTNHB40A
Under no circumstances should anybody not trained by an experienced TEREX OPERATOR / MAINTENANCE trainer in the safe use of the R30 Drill, attempt to operate any functions on the R30 Drill for either Service, Maintenance or Operator purposes.
Intended Use
This machine and its approved attachments are designed to drill blast holes for surface and underground quarry, mining and construction applications. Use of this machine in any other way is prohibited and contrary to its intended use.
This safety alert symbol indicates important SAFETY MESSAGES in this manual. When you see this symbol, carefully read the message that follows and be alert to the possibility of personal injury or property damage.
DO NOT weld on any part of this machine without first disconnecting the negative battery cable or place the battery disconnect switch in the open position. Disconnect the connections to the Electronic Control Module (ECM) on the engine before welding.

Your cooperation in furnishing as much information as possible will assist us in filling your orders correctly and in the shortest possible time.
1. IDENTIFICATION OF THE MACHINE
Always furnish the Reedrill Model Number and Serial Number when ordering parts. This information is found on the machine nameplate.
In addition to the Serial Number, always give the part number and description of each part ordered. If there is any doubt as to the correct part number and description, furnish a dimensioned sketch or return the part to be replaced, transportation charges prepaid.
3. SHIPMENT
Unless otherwise instructed, all shipments will be made via road freight and charged on our invoice. Shipments cannot be made on open account until your credit has been approved by our Accounting Department.

CAUTION: DO NOT weld on any part of the machine without first disconnecting the negative battery cable or place the battery disconnect switch in the open position. The R30C Track Drill is a heavy moving machine with a boom capable of extending its reach vertically and horizontally. Like all moving objects and reach extending devices, there are potential hazards associated with its use. These hazards will be minimized if the machine is properly operated, inspected, and maintained. The operator's must read this manual and have been trained to use the machine in an appropriate and safe manner. Non-English speaking persons must have an interpreter explain all safety and operating procedures in this manual. Hazard Classification
A multi-tier hazard classification system is used to communicate potential personal injury hazards. The following signal words used with the safety alert symbol indicate a specific level of severity of the potential hazard. Signal words used without the safety alert symbol relate to property damage and protection only. All are used as attention-getting devices throughout this manual as well as on decals and labels fixed to the machine to assist in potential hazard recognition and prevention.
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in property or equipment damage.

Potential Hazard Prevention
Safety Alert Symbol. Used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death.
Entanglement Hazard. Death or serious injury can result from contact with rotating drill steel and drivelines.
Entanglement Hazard. Rotating parts can cause personal injury.
See Operator's Manual for instructions. If you do not understand the information the manuals, consult your supervisor, the owner, or the manufacturer.
Keep clear of rotating drill steel and drivelines. Switch off engine before performing service.
Keep away from fan and belt when engine is running. Stop engine before servicing.
Explosion / Burn Hazard. Will cause death, burns or blindness due to ignition of explosive gases or contact with corrosive acid.
Keep all open flames and sparks away. Wear personal protective equipment, including face shield, gloves and long sleeve shirt.
