News on your council tax You will pay around £5 per year more for our services this year (April 2020 to March 2021), the same increase as last year.

A resident in a Band D property will pay an average of just over £182 in council tax to the borough council for our services for the year – just 50p per day. Central government funding to local authorities has been in sharp decline in recent years, and now represents just 23 per cent of our funding compared to 54 per cent in 2010/11.
