Sales & Marketing Regional Sales Manager Are we ready for this to be over? program implemented

SAN ANTONIO – The Sales Department has announced the implementation of a new Regional Sales Manager program. Effective May 1, the state has been divided into four regions. Each region will be assigned a Regional Sales Manager (RSM). Each RSM will be responsible for the recruitment, training and mentoring of agents within their region. Regional Sales Managers will not be writing insurance but will be working with field agents in procuring and writing new members for Hermann Sons Life. The special representative program has ended with the implementation of this program. Two of the Regional Sales Managers will be Special Representatives Teresa Saathoff and Eulla Krueger. “These award-winning

agents have proven their commitment to this organization time and time again and we are excited that they have accepted this new role and look forward to the success their experience will bring to this new program,” Vice President of Sales Tim Kolbe said. The Sales Department is actively searching for and will be filling positions in the Houston/East Texas region and the Dallas/Fort Worth/ North Texas region. In making the announcement, Tim said, “The Regional Sales Managers will begin recruiting and hiring agents in areas which are not served by current agents and lodges. This new structure will help us attain our goal to truly be a statewide insurance provider.” Call Tim for more information.

By TIM KOLBE Vice President of Sales I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the quarantine to be over. Texas Governor Greg Abbott is beginning the process of opening up our state in stages. Let’s hope that all the citizens of our great State of Texas follow the CDC guidelines of social distancing and wearing of protective devices to help flatten the curve. We must all be responsible in providing an environment which allows Texas businesses to get back to work providing goods and services for our economic recovery. The sooner, the better. Things will change however, and even essential businesses were not immune to the changes required for social gatherings. My wife runs a flower shop, and although considered an essential business along with funeral homes, she has seen a sharp downturn in business due to social distancing. Funeral services are not the public affair of the past. No viewing, no open service, even graveside services are only allowed by viewing from your car. No need for flowers for that! Once restrictions are relaxed, will the industry return to past practices… who knows? Only time will tell. Much can be said for the timehonored tradition of selling life insurance by meeting in a client’s home at the kitchen table. Face to face meetings are the norm in our communities,

where agent and client can visit and get to know each other and learn about the rich history and heritage of Hermann Sons Life. Clients turned into new members can gain an appreciation for our organization and our community service ethics. These habits of the past have been indelibly altered. We must also realize that this pandemic has undeniably changed the way we do business and provide educational opportunities for our children and adults alike. The virtual world has come into generalized use as a matter of necessity. We at Hermann Sons Life have been working hard to adapt to this new reality of bringing our great products to folks. We adapted screen sharing about a year ago as a way for agents to meet remotely with clients. We will be providing agents a Hermann Sons Life email with encryption capability so they can conduct business with clients with applications and forms. We are exploring digital signature capabilities to compliment forms processing platforms. What that means is a client and agent will be able to meet remotely, no matter the distance between them, complete applications and send them by email to parents, grandparents or anyone responsible for signing. No mailing expense, lost paperwork, delays in processing and missed signatures which necessitate do overs. More efficient, convenient, and less expense for everyone involved!

We have recently restructured our Sales Department to include regional sales managers, who will be recruiting, training and mentoring new field agents. Our goal is to decentralize and expand the function of seeking and training new agents in areas of need, including areas of our state not normally thought of as our traditional lodge reach. We truly want to be a life insurance provider for the whole of Texas. We are currently seeking new field agents for this initiative and offer competitive commissions for the fraternal industry. Quarterly sales bonuses, and annual production club awards are available for those agents who meet determined sales goals and levels. Find out more by visiting our website hermannsonlife.org and clicking on the agent employment tab under “Contact Us,” or call us at 877-HERMANN. We’ll be glad to visit with you. You, our current members, are the lifeblood of our organization. Without you we would not exist, as we exist solely for the benefit for our members. We have member benefits which are famous in the fraternal world. Our goal is to serve our members better than ever before. We ask our members to spread the word about our great organization and invite others to join us by providing financial protection with great life insurance and annuity products. We are Hermann Sons Life. I pray for your health and wellbeing.
