Unwrap the Magic of the Season Welcome to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Home Tour League’s 43rd Annual Holiday Home Tour!

As the holiday season approaches, we are anticipating the joy and magic it brings. This year’s theme, ‘Unwrap The Magic of The Season,’ sets the stage for the enchantment that awaits in the three homes we proudly present.

In my third and final year as President of the Home Tour, I am particularly proud of what we have produced, thanks to the incredible efforts of the Home Tour League members and the dedicated staff of the Hospital Foundation office.

Each year, the Home Tour showcases three beautifully designed and decorated homes here in the Santa Clarita Valley, culminating in a magical video unveiled at our Holiday Gala. This cherished event is not just a celebration of design; it’s a heartfelt effort to raise funds for The Center for Women and Newborns, including the Kim and Steven Ullman NICU at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. It’s a labor of love, from the dedicated members of the Home Tour League to our talented videographer, Koren Young of Video Bump.

A sincere thank you to our gracious homeowners—Gerry and Josie MinaDionisio, Gina and Anthony Miles, and Debbie and Jim Phillips—for opening your homes and sharing your magical holiday traditions with our community.

Your generosity is the cornerstone of this annual holiday tradition, and we are deeply grateful.

All members are welcome at our monthly Board meetings, and we hold two general membership meetings per year, one in the Spring and another in the Fall, these meetings usually include a luncheon event.

As a member you will be helping to raise funds for Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. We are so lucky to work with the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation and other groups which support our Community’s hospital 6

Home Tour Supports Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Center for Women and Newborns The Center for Women and Newborns occupies the second floor of Henry Mayo’s new patient tower, opened in the fall of 2019. The Center has 22 all-private post and ante-partum rooms, seven laborand-delivery rooms, and two dedicated surgical suites.

Henry Mayo’s experienced obstetrics-trained nursing team is committed to providing a secure, serene birthing experience that respects the decisions and desires of every mother, family and physician. Led by highly experienced, board-certified obstetricians, nurses and support staff, new moms and newborn babies at Henry Mayo experience the utmost in clinical care and personalized attention.

For newborns with critical needs, the Kim and Steven Ullman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offers private rooms outfitted with the latest technology. The specially trained staff are prepared to handle emergency situations that can occur before, during, or after delivery.

Henry Mayo, a not-for-profit hospital, has served the Santa Clarita community since 1975. The hospital is overseen by a volunteer board of directors consisting of community leaders. An acute care hospital, Henry Mayo is licensed for 357-beds.

Henry Mayo offers a wide range of services, including heart care, outpatient and inpatient surgery, trauma services, the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center, and more.

A Sunkissed Christmas Home of Jim & Debbie Phillips

DESIGNER: Jeanna Crawford of Jeanna Loves Christmas Our holiday theme was inspired by a painting, “Pomona,” which features the Roman mythical goddess of fruit trees and orchards. Debbie has been working on this project with a commissioned artist, Holli Harmon of Santa Barbara.

What makes this scenario golden is that this family is part of the California history that is considered California’s second “gold rush”… the citrus industry.

Jim is a third-generation citrus farmer from central California and Debbie also has authentic roots in agriculture: alfalfa hay and dairy feed. They met in 2008 and feel so fortunate to have been lucky at love again. They have a combined family of four girls, four boys and four grand babes. In addition, they have the most amazing daughters-in-law, sons in-laws, girlfriends and boyfriends, parents and best friends that visit more than they ever imagined!

Debbie only knew one person in Santa Clarita, but she was a SCV celebrity: Holly Hanlin! After they found this perfect four bedroom, seven bathroom home, they were lost on where to go with a complete remodel. Stephanie Laney of Clear Images Home worked with Debbie and her initial inspiration of circles which are her favorite geometric object. For her they represent life, hope, wholeness… and the shape of an orange! Stephanie features them throughout. It is fun to look for them in and “a-round” the home.

Their journey with Stephanie led them to their relationship with the talented Queen of Christmas, Jeanna Crawford! The Phillips were blown away by Jeanna’s enthusiasm for this project and her interpretation of a Sunkissed Christmas. The beautiful burnt orange themed dining room decor features antique orange crates, packing house labels and citrus trees. Jeanna also carries the theme of circles with all of her beautiful oversized ornaments on flocked trees throughout the home. The Phillips especially love the space that Stephanie created and Jeanna enhanced with Christmas ambiance in the courtyard. It is absolutely breathtaking and perfect for a Southern California evening.

The Queen of Christmas Jeanna Crawford, known as “The Queen of Christmas,” is a professional holiday personality and inspirationalist based in Los Angeles, California. Her social handle, @ JeannaLovesChristmas, is where you’ll discover exciting new content she shares daily with her fandom - “Christmasers” - around the globe. You can find the “Queen of Christmas” on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and TikTok at @JeannaLovesChristmas.

They are so happy that Jeanna and Henry Mayo helped Debbie keep a family tradition alive since both her mother and stepmother were often featuring their homes on tours for various charity events.

The Magic of Christmas Home of Anthony & Gina Miles

DESIGNERS: Ruben Haynes & Ronda Chobanian-Murray

Anthony & Gina Miles have called Santa Clarita home for over 26 years. They built their home in the Happy Valley area of Newhall from the ground up, thinking about the perfect place for large family gatherings as well as entertainment for friends, extended family and church groups. The Miles have been married for 44 years and have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

They started Miles Chemical 27 years ago and have grown the company to 5 locations with manufacturing and distribution and over 140 employees. The Miles family are members of The LDS church in the Valencia stake and are very involved with different ministry jobs in the Church. They can also be seen cheering for any of the grandchildren at their activities and sports, as family is always their top priority. Anthony & Gina support numerous charities throughout the Valley and in fact participated in the Henry Mayo home tour more than 15 years ago.

Gina has remodeled various rooms in the house since then, as the children have grown and needs have changed, but one thing remains constant, the home will always feel warm, loving and inviting and be able to hold large family gathering comfortably. Gina’s love for things of a bygone era must still remain with the comforts of the modern world. When you enter the doors of their beautiful home you will feel all of that and more. Traditional Christmas décor will be enjoyed in every room with Santa’s, snowmen, elves and even a Grinch! In The Miles home warmth, love and family is what you feel and surely you will Believe in the Magic of Christmas.

The Magic of Christmas Home of Anthony & Gina Miles DESIGNERS: Ruben Haynes & Ronda Chobanian-Murray Ruben Haynes, owner and lead designer at Ruben Haynes Design, began his career in the late 90’s. Five of those with an awardwinning design firm in LA that specialized in designing/decorating model homes. This experience provided Ruben the opportunity to develop several different design styles. He has received award recognition for his design by the Academy of Interior design. That inspired him to establish his own company in 2006. Ruben’s work has been featured on MTV’s Cribs, InStyle Magazine & People Magazine alongside a list of celebrity clients. Ruben is a native California native, born in Ventura County and is the 8th of 8 siblings Ronda has lived in Santa Clarita since 1971 and has had a successful career in residential real estate for 33 years. However, she is still pursuing opportunities to use her creative talent as well. That ability came most strongly in the form of holiday decorating which was learned at a very young age from her father George, who was a visual display artist and floral designer.

Ruben and Ronda joined together when they discovered their shared passion and work styles during the Boys & Girls Club Festival of Trees Event, where Ronda was the Resource Director and lead designer. That was over a decade ago and they have been working together since. Ronda handles project management during the large projects throughout the year with Ruben. However, their joint connection is the holiday business they share which is exclusive to a few private residential clients who have their homes decorated similar to what you see on display here, as well as several commercial buildings along the Wilshire corridor and Culver City. Ruben & Ronda share much of the same philosophies in how they approach design and each job, as well as their clients, which ultimately become like family. They both take each job very personal, taking great care to pay attention to the smallest of detail.

The Ruben Haynes Design team hopes that as you enter the Miles Home, you will feel welcomed to the family. You will experience the elegance of a grand foyer in traditional Christmas colors that leads you to the living room that is transformed with a very special Red Truck. The Family room is the heart of the home, designed for large family gatherings and adorned in red and white. Josie Mina has been a resident of Santa Clarita for 29 years. She and her husband Gerry met in 2007 while both were vacationing in Paris, France. Shortly thereafter, Gerry moved from Vancouver, Canada to join Josie in Santa Clarita. Together they have a combined family of 4 grown children (Joseph, John, Jackie and Miles) and three dogs (Bailey, Blake and Bochi).

Josie and Gerry are owners of At Home Care LLC, a non-medical care company servicing disabled and elderly throughout Southern California. They love to travel, and find great enjoyment experiencing the sights and cultures of other countries and the people who live there.

In 2019, Josie embarked on what would become a full home renovation with the help of her designer, Gin Treadwell. Four years later the renovation is now complete and she and Gerry are honored to have their house showcased in this year’s Holiday Home Tour and decorated for Christmas once again!

Gin is delighted to once again participate in the HMNH Holiday Home Tour.

Previously she, and her house, were showcased in the 2021 Home Tour and she is honored to be a part of such an important fundraising event that benefits the SCV community.

Originally from Seattle, Gin moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the University of Washington and has been a resident of Southern California ever since. She and her husband Kevin moved to Santa Clarita in 2002 where they have raised two daughters, one dog and a very sassy cockatiel. She started her business in 2014 and loves helping clients with their homes whether it’s decorating a small space or tackling a full- fledged home remodel.

Gin understands the importance of comfortable living for families, but believes that beauty and function can and should, coexist. Her signature style is a harmonious blend of mixing new items with old, highlighting treasured family pieces, and incorporating color and texture. Gin’s attention to detail, while keeping the bigger picture in mind, results in designed spaces that feel timeless, inviting, and always reflective of the client. Recognized for her excellent professional relationships, Gin has been a recipient of Best of HOUZZ awards for 9 years running and is honored to call many of her clients, friends.
