AIMEE & BETHANY HAVE BOTH RECENTLY COMPLETED A DUAL DIPLOMA OF BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION – BUILDING AND MANAGEMENT

#1 AIMEE CALLAHAN The opportunity to further my education and expand on my current knowledge was provided the end of last year by Henley in association with Kangan Institute of Tafe.

At first, I was unsure and nervous about adding to my workload. The extra time, stress and pressures that are associated with learning all weighed on my mind, however, the set-up to complete the schooling at the workplace along with minimal fees while also learning more about the company was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.

With the strong support of my manager and peers I jumped headfirst and am happy to report it was one of the best decisions I made last year. Being a new venture for both Henley and me, it did start off a little rocky, however, after ironing out the bugs and settling in, the amount of content covered in class and the ability to relate that content back to my everyday working life was eye opening. It gave me a new appreciation for a number of processes and decisions throughout the company. It also helped get me thinking about how I could help and what things I could do to help within my team.

Should anyone get the opportunity to try this type of learning, I would highly encourage it.

#2 BETHANY SAIT My experience has been great. The enrolment process was reasonably straightforward, especially for someone who has not previously completed any tertiary study. The online student portal was great. It was really easy to access all of our course materials and to visually see how much of each unit you had completed, which kept me motivated. The trainers have been fantastic. Carly is a wonderful trainer; she is really easy to speak to, communicates very clearly and I understood from the first class her expectations of us.

Dario is very knowledgeable and has a great understanding of what he is delivering to his class.

They provide different learning options for everyone. I like to read through the information and then partner off and complete the work at my own pace, which this course allows. It has been very interesting to learn about the different aspects of building and management.

Using the information, we are learning to implement this into our daily roles and have a better understanding of how, when and why. It has helped to teach me how the business works. I am reaping a lot of benefits from this class that I am able to apply in my job.
