Για δεύτερη συνεχή χρονιά συμμετέχουμε στη ΔΕΘ υποστηρίζοντας ενεργά τη smoke-free πρωτοβουλία της Helexpo για μια Έκθεση χωρίς τσιγάρο και με ένα μήνυμα σεβασμού προς τους ανθρώπους γύρω μας. For the second straight year we are taking part in the TIF, actively supporting Helexpo’s smoke-free initiative and sending a message of respect for the people around us.

ίναι πολύ ενθαρρυντικό, στη φετινή χρονική συγκυρία, να βλέπουμε την εφαρμογή του αντικαπνιστικού νόμου να παίρνει σάρκα και οστά, δέκα χρόνια μετά την ψήφισή του! Πρόκειται για το αυτονόητο. Είναι θέμα πολιτισμού. Η δέσμευση για ένα καλύτερο μέλλον, προς το καλύτερο, ξεπερνά το πλαίσιο της απλής συμμόρφωσης και της εφαρμογής του νόμου, τόσο από την πλευρά της κυβέρνησης, όσο και από τη δική μας πλευρά ως πολιτών. Είναι ανάγκη, αλλά και επιλογή. Μας αφορά, μας επηρεάζει, μας καθορίζει όλους. Ως εταιρεία Παπαστράτος υποστηρίζουμε προσπάθειες όπως αυτή της ΔΕΘ, που λέει «όχι» στο τσιγάρο και, φυσικά, υποστηρίζουμε απερίφραστα την εφαρμογή του νόμου χωρίς εξαιρέσεις και αστερίσκους. Η ουσία όμως βρίσκεται πέρα από το πλαίσιο του νόμου: στην αλλαγή νοοτροπίας, που χρειάζεται χρόνο και προσπάθεια. Στην υποστήριξη των πολιτικών για την πρόληψη και τη διακοπή του καπνίσματος, αλλά και στην παροχή καλύτερων εναλλακτικών σε όσους, τελικά, επιλέγουν να συνεχίζουν να καπνίζουν. Είναι και αυτή μια μεγάλη πρόκληση, που πρέπει να κερδηθεί. Με συνεχή ενημέρωση, ευαισθητοποίηση και ανάληψη της ευθύνης που αναλογεί στον καθένα μας, το τσιγάρο θα γίνει παρελθόν. Το αληθινό στοίχημα είναι η καθιέρωση μιας νέας κουλτούρας και σεβασμού #prostokalytero.
IT IS VERY ENCOURAGING that we are now seeing the implementation of the nosmoking legislation actually coming into effect, ten years after it was passed! It had to happen, it’s a question of civility. Commitment to a better future is more than a matter of simple compliance with and implementation of the law, both on the part of the government and on ours as citizens. It is a necessity, and a deliberate choice. It concerns us all, it affects us all, it shapes us all. As a corporate entity Papastratos supports efforts like this, saying no to cigarettes, and of course we stand unequivocally behind the implementation of the law, without exceptions and small print. The essential thing, though, is not the law: it is the change in mentality, and that requires time and effort. It means supporting policies designed to prevent and stop smoking, and also providing those who choose to continue smoking with better alternatives. That is a tremendous challenge, and it has to be won. With continuous information, increased awareness and acceptance of the responsibilities that each of us has, cigarettes can become a thing of the past. The real wager is the establishment of a new culture respecting progress towards the better: #prostokalytero.
