story with visitors. The museum boasts the Amiret Post Office and a Car Barn with antique tractors and vintage automobiles. View the power of nature and the horror of the 1968 tornado in pictures. Stop and examine the machinery used by farmers in the early 1900’s. The village, which has recently been repositioned on the grounds and is under construction, includes the Murray County School House (District 91), an 1897 train depot from Volga, SD, the Sundquist summer kitchen, the Springdale-Imker blacksmith shop, St. Mark’s Church and the recently added section foreman’s house . The signature attraction is a four-unit freight train. The engine is a 1915 American locomotive used in the yard of the St. Paul railroad system. The engine and the coal car were sold to a private owner in Rochester, MN and later sold again to the museum site. An immigrant box car from the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad complements the engine, as does a caboose, which is the rolling workstation. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday 1-5 p.m.
