6 — TRACY COMMUNITY Tracy Municipal Airport

The Tracy Municipal Airport includes a 24-hour Arrival/ Departure building (unattended) and has fuel available onsite. There is one paved runway and one turf runway. Things are happening at the Tracy Municipal Airport. The forthcoming Automated Weather Observation System is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2022. The system provides information to pilots on the current conditions at the airport. This system also reports to the National Weather Service for real time Weather updates to citizens. The runway rehab project involves fi lling in cracks in the runway with a mastic material to level out the surface for aircraft. This project will also include a slurry seal, which is an aviation-friendly sealcoat. Also, new asphalt was put down last summer leading up to the A/D building. The airport has eight T-shaped hangars for rent and one maintenance hangar for rent, which can be rented by contacting Tracy City Hall at (507) 629-5528. During the City’s Box Car Days celebration on Labor Day weekend, the City holds a Fly-In pancake breakfast at the airport. Aircraft and other forms of transportation are welcomed. There is plenty of parking and pancakes for all.

The annual fl y-in event is held during Box Car Days.
