Hello Hayden!

It ’ s a stark reality that Hwy-40 seems to always be under construction, and this summer was no exception. However this year the Town has been experiencing this construction directly within city limits as we work to install new sidewalks through town This project, aimed at making travel safer for our community, was the first project that I was tasked with when I started in 2016 Funded with $350,000 of town-dollars and $2,000,000 in grant dollars After working with CDOT for what seems like a really long time, we are finally getting this project completed This project is scheduled to conclude by October 2023

Other Project Updates:

The Hayden Center is still under construction with a target end-date of February 2024. This will be the last renovation of the old high school and it was because of the citizens of Hayden that it was saved Congrats!

The new Hayden Skate Park is currently in the design phase with a target construction date of summer 2024 Be on the look out for the final community meeting unveiling the final design and next steps Ongoing Water & Sewer projects ensure that your 2017 investment in Water & Sewer infrastructure is being properly maintained The new Northwest Colorado Business District that will be located across from Yampa Valley Regional Airport (to the north) will break ground in spring 2024 Two lots are already under contract for local businesses expansion

Above all else, none of what we do would be possible without the citizens of Hayden We are excited to keep serving you all so that together we can continue to make Hayden a great place to live and thrive

Over the last few years there has been a major increase in people using these so-called "flushable" wipes instead of toilet paper and this is creating a maintenance nightmare for Hayden's sanitary sewer system

Our sewer system and treatment plant are not designed to handle these wipes They gum up the system, clog pipes and pumps, and at the current rate, will cost taxpayers and residents lots of money in additional maintenance costs

If you must use wipes, put them in the trash, not the toilet!

September, 2023 Town of Hayden

The Town of Hayden Public Works Department will begin the annual fire hydrant flushing process the first week of September and continue to do so throughout the month

Discoloration to the Town‘ s tap water is possible during this flushing process however it will be temporary.

WE ARE HAYDEN.

We believe in living true to our roots and true to ourselves That each of our lives looks differently, each is equally valuable and freedom comes from living it in our own way

We stand in awe at the beauty that surrounds us and are deeply grateful to live here. Thankful for our ancestors and the road they paved for us and honored to do the same for our children and grandchildren. Through hard work, optimism, and each other we will leave this place better than we found it

We believe that wholesome is underrated and simple is misunderstood. We are proud of our way of life, even as the world changes around us. We offer welcoming, open arms to those that come to us, always making room for more, but never at the expense of our values

We believe home really is where the heart is Where community is cultivated, memories are shared, values are created.

WE ARE THE HEART OF THE YAMPA VALLEY.
