Originally listed for $15.9 million, the Barrington Hills mansion — known for its appearance on “Empire” — is currently listed for $9.5 million, a 40 percent decrease from the original price. The stunning home, which sprawls over 17,000 square feet on 8.5 acres, is located at 45 Lakeview Lane in the Golden Corridor neighborhood of Schaumburg. The mansion has been regularly featured as actor Terrance Howard’s character’s home on the show “Empire” since 2014. While being used as a set for the show, the grand estate spent time lingering on the forsale market. However, up until recently, the owners of the estate were hesitant to market relations to the FOX television show, as reported by Crain’s. Previously named it the most beautiful home for sale in Illinois by Architectural Digest, the estate includes custom walnut double doors, a large formal entryway, floor to ceiling windows, barreled and coffered ceilings, a new home theater, poker room, and full bar kitchen.
