LBF Contemporary is pleased to participate in the Dallas Art Fair 2025 with a solo presentation by London-based artist H.E. Morris. The presentation highlights a series of seven new paintings, exploring themes of memory, emotion, and the transience of time.
Morris' (b. 1989, New York) paintings recall the tactility of Antoni Tàpies and the expressivity of Perle Fine. By imagining her work as encountered in medias res, or in the middle of things, as in the scene of a play, Morris has a remarkable capacity to capture something of the transience of finite life using an innovative arsenal of materials. While based in east London, Morris recently completed a PhD in Fine Art at Newcastle University and holds a Masters in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths. By all accounts, Morris is an intellectual painter who infuses philosophical and existential ideas into her process-driven work. By using unforgiving materials like linen and fabric, which foreclose the artist’s ability to go back over, remedy or modify previous interventions, as is possible in most canvas paintings, Morris’s work returns the making of painting as an arena in which the artist acts.
This new series of work delves deeper into the notion of time as both an emotional and physical force. Each piece presents a vivid exploration of the way memory and emotion are etched into the surfaces of her canvases. Through the integration of layered textures, stitching, and bold brushstrokes, Morris transforms her paintings into visceral objects that reflect the complex depths of human consciousness.

OSMOS began in 1997 as a project space in Berlin and was re-established in 2012 in New York as platform for curatorial and editorial activities. OSMOS currently has two locations: In New York City, OSMOS Address is located at 50 East 1st Street in an East Village storefront that was once a saloon frequented by Emma Goldman and other radicals; our project space OSMOS Station is located in the rural Catskills village of Stamford, NY. In addition, OSMOS publishes a thrice-yearly art magazine as well as artists’ monographs.
Over the past decade, OSMOS has developed a particular expertise in handling artists’ estates and re-introducing historic and previously overlooked artistic positions, especially constructivist and concrete tendencies and photography, and occasionally works with younger artists that reinvigorate the historic legacies we champion.
For the Dallas Art Fair, OSMOS is presenting a broader cross-section of its program, from historic positions such as German Constructivist Anton Stankowski and Croatian post-war artist Julije Knifer to photographers Rose Marasco and Catherine DeLattre. Younger positions include Brussels-based Chilean artist Felipe Mujica, Croatian artist Ivan Prerad, and formerly Dallas-based painter and cerami cist Tena Saw.
