We are excited you are interested in attending a summer camp at Hartfield Academy! It is our desire to offer both our families and our community with fun activities that allow students, as young as K3, to develop a new skill, explore their creativity, or enhance their athletic abilities. This camp brochure is organized by week and each camp is grade specific. Camp grades are based on student's rising grade for the Fall of 2018. CAMP LOGISTICS CLOTHING It’s summertime! We encourage students to dress in comfortable clothes suitable for the Mississippi heat. T-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes with socks will be the best fit for most camps.
WATER We recommend that every student bring a water bottle with their name clearly written on the outside. Please feel free to provide your own snack each day.
TRANSPORTATION If your child is participating in Summer Nest, there will be transportation from East to West Campus for most camps. All camps marked with the car icon will have transportation from East to West campus.
LOCATION All of our camps will be located on our West Campus unless otherwise noted. Check-in will be in West Campus Gym Commons .

Come build motorized models including spinners using our proprietary Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO model kits. Imagination and creativity will abound as campers build Lego models, tools, vehicles and more...a S.T.E.A.M. camp experience! All campers take home a t-shirt, mini figure OR mini model and craft projects from each camp day!

MAY 30TH-JUNE 1ST | 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM | $75.00 GRADES: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 This special three-day camp will focus on the development of each player’s pitching and catching skills. Players are individually coached through drill work to teach the finer points of pitching and catching. This camp will also feature strength and conditioning and the mental aspects of pitching and catching.

This camp will emphasize shooting the basketball properly. Form, footwork, and shot selection will be taught. Campers will learn how to get open to shoot in the flow of offense and how to read screens for a good shot.

JUNE 4TH-JUNE 8TH | 8:00 AM- 11:00 AM* | $100.00 GRADES: 7 8 9 10 11 12 Get prepared for the ACT! Students in this camp will learn the critical thinking and standardized test taking skills needed to feel confident to take the ACT. *Students will stay until noon on Friday.

ROBOTICS CAMP-ANGELA TRIGG
JUNE 4TH-JUNE 7TH | 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM | $100.00 GRADES: 3 4 5 6 We will be partnering with the robotics club and engineering students in order to create a four day camp that teaches students the basics of FIRST Robotics and, ultimately, provide students with the knowledge necessary to build their own FIRST Robot. Students will work together in groups to both design and build a unique robot, and will then enter their robot in a competition against the robots created by other student groups. Through this fun and engaging program, your student will learn the real life applications of science, math, and engineering.

Join the Avengers and learn about robotics. Help Luke Skywalker fight the Empire by building your own lightsaber and Lego Star Wars spaceship! Younger campers will not lift weights, but will focus on weight-bearing exercises that build muscle. We will teach proper sprinting form, speed development, agility work, and acceleration/deceleration exercises.
