It’s Better in 3D! 3D Mammography is coming soon to the Women’s Center at Harrison County Hospital. 3D Mammography is different than traditional mammography in that it takes multiple images of the breast with no additional compression to create a three dimensional view for better analysis. 3D Mammography offers several advantages over conventional digital 2D Mammography. Breast cancer can be detected earlier, lesions are presented more clearly, false positive tests are reduced, and surgical results improve greatly. When Caring Makes a Difference Susie from Guston, Kentucky had her blood glucose level checked at our February 27th Health & Wellness Fair by registered nurse April Welp. Our Health & Wellness Fair is special to Susie, because in 2014 when she had this same test completed at our Health Fair, she received a very high reading. Our staff had her wait and wanted to check her a second time. Susie’s level was still high and she was referred to see her physician. A visit to her family physician indicated that Susie had diabetes. She’s now on regular medication and monitoring to control her diabetes and her health. Thanks to a free screening provided by the Harrison County Hospital Foundation, Susie was alerted to get to her doctor and was able to take control of her diabetes.
