PUSAT TUISYEN AKADEMIK BOS (PTABOS) is a centre for education, training and learning – based in Petaling Utama, Selangor.

Our tuition centre is registered under the Ministry of Education (MOE), under Section 79, Educational Act 1996 (Act 550).

Since 2011, we have been catering for both primary and secondary level students.

The Centre has also introduced classes for IGCSE and Cambridge students in 2019.

Our centre is located at: 1H-2 Mayang Plaza, Jalan SS26/9, Taman Mayang Jaya, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday: 7.30 am to 10.00 pm Saturday: 1.00 pm to 6.30 pm Sunday: 2.00 pm to 6.30 pm

A Message From Our Founder Welcome to PTABOS !

I am Barbara Tay, the education director and founder of this learning center. PTABOS was established in 2011 together with a team of passionate educators.

PTABOS takes a unique pathway of educating students through a DAP method. DAP stands for “Discipline, Attitude and Performance”.

We believe that through this unique platform, students are educated in an all-rounder manner. We are here to work on their vision, listening skills, class participation and challenge students to think further in their decision making and problem solving.

Our team members are highly experienced in facilitating learning through an innovative approach.

Our teaching programs and activities are designed to meet the needs of your child. We believe that each child’s learning is unique and their academic levels and capabilities will be supported through a positive teaching approach.

“Our job is not to prepare students for something, our job is to help students to prepare for anything” We believe that an innovative approach in learning and with the DAP method, children will be inspired to learn and acquire knowledge better!

About PTABOS

A centre for education, training and learning PUSAT TUISYEN AKADEMIK BOS (PTABOS) is a centre for education, training and learning – based in Petaling Utama, Selangor. Our tuition centre is registered under the Ministry of Education (MOE), and we have been catering for both primary and secondary level students since 2011.

Through our unique blend of teaching methods, PTABOS is a platform where your children can learn and develop, all in a conducive environment that encourages the right attitude and produces effective results.

Pre-School Learning The youngest PTABOSians turn 5-6 years old in their first semester with the Centre. In these early, crucial years, the PTABOS curriculum will prepare these young minds for the first phases of their academic journey, ready to meet the challenges of the classroom ahead.

All Learner Levels

Primary School PTABOS students from Sekolah Kebangsaan — “SK” and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) — “SJKC”, are adequately served here. Our Centre has the resources to help learners pass their UPSR, no matter the curriculum.

Secondary School Tertiary-Level / Pre-U Degree students, diploma students, and students in their Foundation year can turn to PTABOS for advanced tutorials. For instance, the Centre actively provides “Focused English Writing Courses” and has achieved success in building up the writing abilities of its advanced student group.

PTABOS caters for Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan – “SMK” and International General Certificate of Secondary Education – “IGCSE” subjects, providing much-needed support for students to revise, catch-up, and improve on the extensive syllabuses. It is our goal to set every student on the right path to tertiary education.

Our Core Subjects PTABOS distinguishes itself from the conventional, cookie-cutter tutorial programmes.

Our teaching team keeps abreast of the Malaysian and Cambridge syllabus from time to time, incorporating the latest changes into PTABOS’ lesson materials.

Our tutors here are also trained to deliver lessons with a focus on the learner as an individual, building the foundation for every student’s grasp of the subject matter every step of the way.

Life at PTABOS

Study/Life Balance PTABOS makes learning fun and motivates students through a conducive environment as students spend more than half their day on books, classes and school homework.

We aim to create a balance in learning for students whereby we commit ourselves in looking after student welfare as well focusing on their grades.

These have been achieved through our dedicated transport services and holiday programmes for schoolchildren of all ages.

Dual Learning System Blended Learning — The Future Hybrid Teaching Materials Digital Innovation Homework & Assignments Web Materials Online Assessments Virtual Lecturing

PTABOS’ signature Dual Learning system combines the flexibility of “Online” and unbeatable interaction of “Offline” learning.

Launched in November 2019, our system has been rolled out prior to the wave of online learning precipitated by the new normal, with observable success and distinct advantages over physical classes.

PTABOS’ online teaching innovations challenges the way parents and students traditionally think about education, and the new methods have introduced FOCUS, EMPOWERMENT, and IMAGINATION — for a holistic learning experience.

Students’ Academic Journey

All students within the Malaysian education system to undergo 6 years of primary education and 5 more years of secondary education.

At the end of their secondary education, students sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), a public common examination which determines whether students will be able to pursue higher education at their desired institutions, based on their academic grades.

School leavers with SPM qualifications can opt to obtain a pre-university qualification (such as the sixth form, matriculation programmes and GCE 'A' levels) or study for a certificate or diploma at higher educational institutions.

The time needed to complete a pre-university programme depends on the type of programme students usually take a year to complete a matriculation programme or STAM and one-and-a-half to two years for STPM and A-levels.

Since 2011, PTABOS has helped students with their UPSR, PT3, and SPM journey, taking students of all ages, Grades, Standards, and Forms... through to completing their education at the SPM level.

How PTABOS Can Help Our highly skilled teachers are here to provide support to students who are pursuing their higher education. We are here to give advice on their pathways in pursuing higher education either locally or internationlly. We are here to motivate and help students outshine their talent and capabilities.

After an entire day of school, students can revise on learnt topics with our friendly and supportive tutors. Kindly enquire for all subjects presently available.

Our reading classes assist non-native speakers to get used to pronouncing and conversing in Mandarin and English, turning them into fluent readers and speakers!

Special Chinese Writing Class Can’t spell too well in Chinese? PTABOS’ special chinese writing class is open to all. The lessons seek to train learners into capable writers.

Holidays Programmes and Activities

The holidays are here and we’re here to help Being a tuition centre doesn’t mean we have to be boring during holidays!

Students can join us during the holidays for bonding and a great time with our seasonal holiday programmes — up to 4 times a year. We have field trips, cooking classes, teambuilding games, revision quizzes, workshops... and a large selection of other special programmes your child can participate in!

Grades still matter and we care too Your child isn’t defined by their grades — but they do still matter in high school, in their college search, and maybe even life after college!

Education is widely viewed as a reflection of an individual’s skills and abilities. Good grades are solid evidence that your child has the required level of understanding, discipline, attitude, and performance required for their roles in society.
