SEARED LAMB FLATBREADS WITH OLIVE TAPENADE, FETA AND QUICK-PICKLED CUCUMBER Ingredients Seared lamb flatbreads 2 lamb leg steaks 1/2 cucumber 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbsp of rice vinegar 2 tsp caster sugar 2 tsp chilli flakes 1 tbsp of olive oil 100g of feta, crumbled 2 flatbreads, large and thick 2 tbsp of flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped salt pepper Tapenade 70g of black olives, pitted 1 tbsp of capers, drained 2 anchovy fillets, chopped 1 garlic clove, crushed 1 tbsp of lemon juice 3 tbsp of olive oil 2 tbsp of thyme leaves

Method First, prepare the cucumber. Halve it lengthways and scrape out the seeds with a teaspoon. Discard

Slice the cucumber widthways into thin slices and place in a colander. Sprinkle with the salt, stir, then leave for 10 minutes Meanwhile, put the rice vinegar and caster sugar in a small pan and heat gently, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Turn off the heat. When the cucumber has had its 10 minutes, add to the vinegar mixture, stir well and set aside For the tapenade, put all the ingredients, except the olive oil, in a food processor and pulse to a coarse mixture (or pound in a pestle and mortar) Add the olive oil gradually, pulsing briefly in between additions, until you have a chunky black paste. Taste to check the seasoning, adjust (you may want more lemon juice or herbs, but probably no salt as the ingredients are alleady salty), and set aside For the lamb, brush the meat with the olive oil and season with salt and pepper and the chilli flakes

Heat a griddle pan or large frying pan over a medium-high heat, then add the lamb. Sear for 3 minutes on each side, then remove the meat, put on a plate, cover with foil and leave to rest for 5 minutes before slicing thickly Put each flatbread on a plate. Spread generously with the tapenade, then scatter with the feta and pickled cucumber (drained of its liquid) Layer over the pieces of cooked lamb, sprinkle with the parsley and serve immediately. You can eat this like a pizza, or roll it up like a wrap – just make sure to keep napkins handy! BUY FROM YOUR LOCAL BUTCHER

By Law you must display an Energy Performance Certificate when you come to sell your property. This also applies if you're looking to rent out your home. An EPC is your property's energy rating based upon the highest rating of A (most efficient) through to G (least efficient). An EPC is valid for 10 years. You cannot market your property for sale or let unless you've ordered and requested an EPC. If it's the case that it's been ordered but not yet produced, you have seven days grace, starting from when you commence your marketing. Marketing a property without an EPC is an offence and you're liable to face prosecution and/or a fine from the Trading Standards Office. According to uswitch.com EPC's generally cost between £60£120. "If you've recently moved into your property, it may well be the case that a previous EPC report has already been undertaken. If so, you don't need to request a new one, saving you both time and money"

Your estate agent can organise the EPC for you, but they may well charge you an additional premium for the privilege. EPCs must be shown with your property marketing. When somebody is looking at your property online, they should be able to quickly view a summary of your energy efficiency rating. As well as assessing your property's current rating, the EPC report will set out any recommended works that can be carried out to improve your rating, along with an estimate of the cost. This may include loft insulation, getting a more efficient boiler, or changing to low energy lighting. For more information on selling your home contact Mark Davis on 01937 316060

Every electrical installation deteriorates with use and age and it is critical to maintain these installations to ensure that the safety of users is not put at risk and that installations remain in a safe and serviceable condition.

So how often do you have to undertake a Periodic Inspection? This depends on the premise type. It is recommended that electrical installation condition reports or Periodic Inspection and testing is carried out at least every –

How often then do you consider how electrically safe your business is? When was the last time your electrical circuit was tested under a Periodic Electrical Inspection? There are no legal or statutory frequencies for how often portable electrical appliances have to undergo a PAT. Here at Hopscotch shoes, you will know us for our top quality footwear for your sons and daughters. We love giving the best service, the best price and of course, the best products. However, there are some parts of the world that are much less fortunate than ourselves.

At all of our shops, we have a shoes recycling bin (see pictures). If you can’t locate it, please let a member of staff point you in the right direction. It would be great if you could put a pair of your shoes that you no longer want or need in one of these bins.

Shoes are more of a need than a luxury in these places.

We then send them away to get reconditioned before they are shipped all over the world to those in desperate need. We will happily accept any shoe, from little to large and brand new to barely wearable! We have already has 100’s of donations and there is no such thing as too many so please

Unfortunately, it is often the case where children, no different in age to your child, go years without owning a proper pair of shoes. They put their feet at risk every day, through every terrain in all kinds of weather. An injured foot is nothing out of the ordinary for children in some of these places. With a little help from us, this is how you can make the difference.

do think about our scheme when you are next going to throw a pair of shoes away! www.hopscotch-shoes.co.uk

HOME FROM HOME OUT OF SCHOOL CARE Out of school clubs provide care and play opportunities for children in full time education. Clubs can operate as breakfast clubs, afterschool clubs or holiday clubs.

Meet Twinkles Nurseries assisting parents who may work longer hours and need support in children dropping off at school and collecting from school.

Twinkles provide a drop off and collection service for children attending Crossley Street and St Joseph’s Primary Schools. All Stars is run from the Wetherby Scout Hut, which means that there’s lots of room for fun activities. We operate a breakfast club from 7.30am, children can take part in a range of activities on offer in the morning as well as helping themselves to a healthy breakfast. We then head off to school in our walking bus, leaving enough time for a catch up with their friends in the playground before the bell goes.

Children are collected at 3.15pm and we make their friends and chat about their day as they tuck our way back to the Scout Hut for a two course in. Then there’s a variety of activities on offer once hot tea, prepared by the nursery chef. Its selfeveryone’s finished and the practitioners build up service at mealtimes and the children sit with good relationships with the children and their teachers at school to ensure we are offering activities that are of interest. We have a homework area too for any children who want to get on with their homework.

Children can play outside or in and there’s sand and water, construction, painting and craft activities, baking, games and puzzles and lots more. We also operate a Holiday Club for the school holidays and this is for children attending any local primary school.
