BOAT SHO W RECAP

Boats Afloat Show SOUTH LAKE UNION, SEATTLE | SEPT. 14 - 17, 2017

The 39th annual Seattle Boats Afloat Show started off on a high note with Wednesday’s VIP Night. We enjoyed a steady flow of familiar and fresh faces, live music, wine, and conversation. Robert Fiala and Seattle team Scott Hauck, Ben Johnson, Pete Sponek, JR Yuse, and Eric Strasik reported that they heard from many guests that the Hampton Yacht Group display was the center of night’s festivities, a suggestion that was supported by the large amount of foot traffic that our booth received. The night finished off with a picturesque sunset backdrop against the glowing Space Needle. A high standard was set for the following four days of the show, and it would be met!

HYG WINTER 2017 NEWSLETTER | 07

During the next couple of days we enjoyed some of Seattle’s finest Indian summer weather while showing off our four boats on display. “Watta Ryde” the 2016, 92 foot Selene Ocean Explorer was an immediate showstopper, drawing in experienced boaters and amazed beginners alike. With its 6 stateroom, 6 head layout and hot tub on the bow, it’s hard to overlook and resist exploring her vast interior. “Chinook”, a 70’ Delta 1988 was another popular hull at the show. Built for world travel, she’s equipped with a CAT power, long range, bow & stern thrusters as well as a bait tank for deep sea fishing. There was also plenty of interest in “The Backyard” a 43’ Tiara Sovran 2006, with her solid craftsmanship and upgrades. We received endless compliments on our newest model in our lineup, the Hampton 650, which is now docked in front of our Seattle office and featured in this issue. Don’t hesitate to contact us for a showing of any of these magnificent vessels. Also, make sure to mark your calendars for our next boat show: The Seattle Boat Show from January 26 February 3, 2018.

HAMPTON 650 The Hampton 650 has proven to be another highly successful pilothouse in the Hampton line. At 65 feet, the vessel is right in the middle of the Hampton fleet, the perfect size for many boat owners. She is easy to handle, sliding into slips gracefully, but is equally seaworthy as her larger siblings. The thoughtfully designed interior boasts more space than other yachts of its class.

HYG WINTER 2017 NEWSLETTER | 09

Like other Hamptons, the 650 has luxury details, plentiful storage space, stunning woodwork, top-ofthe-line appliances, and elegant accommodations. The Hampton 650 begs to entertain. The flybridge, fully equipped with a BBQ grill and ice maker is the perfect place for al fresco dining. Feel at home in the salon, outfitted with the latest in high-tech audio and video entertainment. Or cozy up on the bow deck lounge with a mug of coffee. The sheltered cockpit offers a comfortable spot to take in the scenery and enjoy a glass of wine. You can always retreat

to your full-beam master stateroom with superior appointments including king-size bed, deluxe decor, built-in bureaus, and storage everywhere. Guests won’t want to leave their generous VIP stateroom with island walk-around bed. It doesn’t really matter where you’re going - the Hampton 650 itself is the perfect getaway where family and friends can join together for some worldclass cruising and relaxation.

BOAT SHOW RECAP

Southern California

w o h S t a bo

CABRILLO WAY MARINA, SAN PEDRO SEPT. 28 - OCT. 1, 2017 Set in the heart of Los Angeles Harbor, the second annual Southern California Boat Show started off with lots to see and do. Chris Elliott with Hampton Yacht Group of California was showing a 720 Hampton Motoryacht hull built in 2012. The vessel is an entertainer’s dream - with a roomy open floor plan in the main deck house and spacious formal dining room, that provides an unobstructed view from the lower helm dining to the aft upper deck. Despite some atypical cloudy California skies, we enjoyed the week meeting fellow yacht enthusiasts and showing off this beautiful model. The show was a success, as we are currently working on a pending sale for this well-appointed Hampton 720.

Newport Int. Boat Show

NEWPORT YACHTING CENTER, RHODE ISLAND | SEPT. 14 - 17, 2017 Called the premier show in New England, the Newport International Boat Show is set in the famed downtown waterfront. It’s surrounded by national historic sites, coastal scenery, and charming inns, boutiques, and restaurants. This was our first time showing at Newport, and we were thrilled with the success of the weekend. It was great to meet many boat enthusiasts who were interested in the innovation and luxurious quality that Hampton Yachts has to offer.

Hampton Preferred Agent of the Northeast, George Rose and Becky Minard Rose showed a 2017 Endurance 658, which received much attention and traffic. Attendees raved about the amount of space in the 65 foot hull with a 4 stateroom, 4 head layout and the convenience of the day head. The Endurance 658 has been lauded as a model of performance and design that represents a new standard for safety, comfort, and efficiency in a long-range cruising yacht.

BOAT SHOW RECAP

BAHIA MAR MARINA, FORT LAUDERDALE NOVEMBER 1 - 5, 2017

A BIG STAGE

The 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show was a huge success for HYG of Florida, led by Larry Clark with Florida team, Ed Chapdelaine, Louis Dvorak, Bob Epstein, Monty Miller, and Skip Smith. We were thrilled to be showing in the Motoryacht section of the show for the first time with our new Hampton 650 and Hampton Euro 830 models. The sleek long range cruiser Endurance 658 outshone neighboring boats in the Trawler section, with its beautiful interior and enticing display. With the new management in charge of the show this year, there were a number of enormous improvements including increased foot traffic, free WiFi, and well organized parking. For the past few years, we’ve typically seen at least one torrential downpour during the FLIBS weekend, so we truly appreciated the consistent sunshine and blue skies.

A smashing hit was our Hampton and Endurance Owners VIP Cocktail party, which featured smooth soul music from guitarist Omar Mesa, as well as plenty of finger foods including ceviche, spanakopita, and chimmichurri steak. Our mini-cupcakes decorated to look like sushi were also an instant party favorite. Everyone enjoyed the craft beer provided by local Khoffner Brewery and a selection of wines. With much interest over the eagerly anticipated Hampton Euro 830, considerable traffic through the established favorite Endurance 658, and dozens of compliments on the fresh-from-thefactory Hampton 650, it is safe to say that this was an incredibly successful boat show to start the holiday season with!

It is the ideal location to enjoy the serene landscape, observe the diversity of Pacific Northwest wildlife, and meet people passionate about yachting. The 2017 HYG Rendezvous weekend was meticulously planned for Hampton and Endurance owners as well as our VIP clients. The weekend was a great opportunity to learn more about our yachts, our team, and our dedication to providing a high-quality, VIP experience. We loved bringing more yacht enthusiasts in to our close-knit community.

Highlights of the weekend included live music from dueling pianos, informative docking classes, shared gasps of wonder throughout a world-class illusionist show, and a pig roast feast featuring a cooking demonstration with resort chef Bill Shaw. One of our most beloved events was the 15-dingy fleet adventure, where we traveled just down the coast to the renowned Westcott Bay Shellfish Company. There, we dined al fresco on several divine oyster-wine pairings. The entire weekend was a great way to reinvigorate old friendships and build new connections. The aptly named Spirit of Seattle, is the Official Christmas Ship, glistening with decorative bulbs. Carolers and choirs perform aboard and are broadcast to following boats. The parade also stops at different waterfront communities, where crowds gathered on the shore are treated to additional music.
