BOAT SHOW RECAP

Seattle Boat Show SOUTH LAKE UNION, SEATTLE | JAN. 26 - FEB. 3, 2018 HYG’s lineup was unrivaled for the 2018 Seattle Boat Show, which ran for nine days from January 26 to February 3rd. For the first time ever, 3 Hampton and Endurance yachts were show side by side in the show. Robert Fiala and Seattle team Scott Hauck, Ben Johnson, Pete Sponek, and JR Yuse, reported that it was great to see so many familiar and fresh faces throughout the course of the show. They thoroughly enjoyed showing everyone aboard the six boats in the show and receiving the compliments and many accolades for the yachts in their lineup. On Saturday, January 27, HYG held their 9th annual Client Appreciation Night. With tacos and toppings from Cactus

HYG SPRING 2018 NEWSLETTER | 07

restaurants along with several wine options, the evening event continued as a successful tradition. Despite cloudy weather throughout the rest of the week, the Seattle team received plenty of interest for their boats on display. The largest in their lineup, a privately-owned Endurance 720 was commended for her bright and airy salon and full galley with wet bar. A new Endurance 720 will be arriving at the Seattle office in late Summer 2018. Our newly arrived Endurance 658 enjoyed tremendous popularity as well, as many attendees marveled about her spacious interior, internal staircase from the salon to the crew quarters, and elegant double sink layout in the master head.

The Hampton 650 motoryacht was also in the show and while aboard visitors raved about her bright and airy flybridge and expansive full-beam master stateroom. Also in the show were “Restless” a 65’ Pacific Mariner built for long distance cruising. Her crew quarters and well-thought our design were frequently praised. “Elvira” a 48’ Silverton Convertible also attracted a lot of attention at the show, especially for her well equipped flybridge. Rounding out our lineup was “Rainmaker” a 38’ Tiara Open with new engines and an extensive refit, which was also well-received. Join Seattle for their annual west coast rendezvous from May 31 - June 2!

FEATURE D M ODEL

From the moment that you step aboard the Endurance 658, you’ll feel cocooned in luxury. Plush deep-padded carpet, cherry paneling with meticulously matched grains, the latest in stateof-the-art entertainment and electronics, plentiful storage, open galley design, and sumptuous living areas including double sinks in the master head. The newest Endurance 658 has been upgraded to a 19’2” beam - the added interior space is noticeable, but not from the control station. She remains highly maneuverable in tight spaces, with excellent handling characteristics and exceptional visibility.

She’s the only yacht in her class to have a staircase descending down to the crew quarters, which has access to her stand-up engine room. Entertaining guests is easy in numerous outdoor spaces like the flybridge or aft deck with day head. Both spaces boast lounge areas to dine al fresco as well as LED TVs in concealed drop down compartments. The flybridge is equipped with a wet bar and our newest model also boasts a retractable sunroof. Aboard the Endurance 658, design and performance come together seamlessly, allowing you to feel at home, no matter where you are on the water.

Hosted at the renowned Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort & Marina, the extended weekend included a boat show, seminars taught by industry professionals, and plentiful opportunities to connect with other boating enthusiasts. The HYGOF team took home first place in nautical trivia during the welcome dinner. At the show, the 2018 Hampton 650 was on display. Although not a trawler, attendees were eager to learn more about the Hampton brands and appreciated the consistent quality across all Hampton and Endurance yachts. Showstoppers FLAGLER DRIVE, WEST PALM BEACH MARCH 22 - 25, 2018 Palm Beach International Boat Show, one of the five largest boat shows in the country keeps growing and getting better and better. The extended weekend was a smash hit for HYG of Florida, led by Larry Clark with Florida team, Ed Chapdelaine, Louis Dvorak, Bob Epstein, Monty Miller, and Skip Smith. The new Hampton 650 was sold during the first day of the show. Our other boat on display, the Hampton Euro 830 was also well-received. The show also benefitted from the opening of Brightline, a high speed rail that connects Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach. Many visitors traveled via Brightline, enjoying the express train service that virtually halves the travel time and offers comfortable and clean seating. Beautiful and breezy weather kept visitors outside for

longer and many returned aboard the Hamptons 3 or 4 times throughout the show. Word spread quickly that the Hampton 650 had already sold, but people were eager to see her expansive interior and innovative new features, like the sunroof on the flybridge. Praise was consistent for the Hampton Euro 830, with visitors exclaiming, “I’ve never seen a Hampton like this!” The full-beam master stateroom was particularly popular, with its king-size walk around bed and ample storage. Flip to Page 24 to read more about the sale story of the Hampton 650 - 26. We are thrilled to welcome the new owners to the Hampton Family and can’t wait to see them on the water!

BEHI ND THE S CENES

A D RIF T THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

For many of us, the most exciting part of owning a yacht is when you are out on the water, whether you’re in a new locale or a body of water that has been familiar since childhood. It’s moments like this when you feel the size of our planet, being right in the midst of its beauty. There’s no better time to appreciate this beauty than the renewal that occurs during spring, as coldness melts away and fauna, flora, and humankind alike emerge to embrace the sunshine and beckoning cool breezes. Cruising in the open water allows us to experience a part of our world that most ignore. Our vessels provide access to the island communities, unique culture, and rich biodiversity that thrives in areas disconnected from the mainland. It fosters the feelings of adventure and freedom that is tied to being adrift.

Aboard a Hampton or Endurance, you’re never truly adrift, in the sense that our redundant systems are in place to enable stability and safety while underway. It is these systems that enable us to venture out on the open water to escape the concerns of everyday life without being stricken with worries for safety. Furthermore, in the busy landscape that composes the yacht market, it is easy to feel adrift, unsure of how to best move forward. Our brokers are here to provide the guidance so that you can navigate the purchase of a new yacht, listing of a current vessel, or both, as well as everything in between. We hope the stories in this newsletter inspire you to feel the power in adventure in being adrift, while connecting you to the HYG community so that you never feel alone.

Sale Stories 68’ West Bay

Selling Broker JR Yuse met the new owners of this 68’ West Bay at the Seattle Boat Show, where their long search for the perfect yacht would soon come to an end.

Upon meeting the rest of the tight-knit HYG family during our annual Client Appreciation night, they realized that the 68’ Westbay they had seen with Yuse was the boat for them. Right then and there, during the party, they drafted an agreement on a napkin. Approximately one week later, during the

breakdown of the Seattle show, they were sea trialing the 68’ Westbay and the rest is history.

Since their purchase, Yuse has connected the new owners with a professional captain for personalized training and also visited them in Arizona. They’re looking forward to the busy summer cruising season, as they’ll have plenty of space aboard to store kayaks, bikes, and paddleboards to use during the upcoming Pacific Northwest summer!

We are thrilled with the boat. Without JR’s support through the exhaustive boat search process, I don’t think we would have made as good as a decision for where we have ended up.”
