Dear Parents and Friends,
In the blink of an eye, the first half of term has gone. It ’s been a very busy one, with coffee mornings, parent meetings, trips and adventures around Malta, International Baccalaureate candidacy, Mtarfa site progress and so much more besides. I am very proud of everything that the staff team has achieved.
Speaking of parent meetings, although it is not usual for the Head to be on door duty for such things, it has been a great opportunity to catch up with many of you whilst you were waiting for your appointments. One thing I have really missed from my last school is the opportunity to just pass the time with parents and have a nice chat. The school transport setup in Malta makes that a bit more of a challenge with so many children arriving and departing without their parents, so I really appreciate it when I have a few minutes to just stop and re-engage.
One thing that is keeping me very busy at the moment is Admissions. As you know, we will be expanding rapidly between this year and next, and I am ploughing through the backlog of applications as fast as I can. I know that some of you have friends waiting for their turn, so do be assured that their applications will be at the top of the pile before long.
To keep up with the increase in pupil numbers, we have already advertised thirteen positions for September 2026 and have been very impressed with the field so far. By Christmas, we should have the majority of our teaching staff team assembled and ready for action. To see the school evolving like this is a very exciting position to be in.
Have a lovely Half Term,

Louise Salmond Smith
