REPRESENTATION TOOLS FOR ARCHITECTS

Create a composition conveying two opposing concepts. Objectives
Understanding basic concepts of creating 3D designs that consists of Abstract shapes
It was the most fun assignment for me because it was open-ended and allowed me to explore my artistics approaches to given aspects. I chose creative Vs. conservative as I believe it was the easiest and most interesting to express through compositions
Create a 3D model for Auditorio using Rhino using the given basic curves.
Grasping the Basic concepts on Rhinoceros and be able to creat complex shapes using primary commands like Loft and Patch, which are used in the assignment.
The assignment was quite easy for me because the curves were given and most of the commands that were meant to be used were Loft and Patch. Hence, it did not take much effort.
Create a 3D composition of the Ron champ Chapel by modelling curves and cage editing.
To learn how to model and create doubly curved forms and how to draw with measurements
What was somewhat hard about this assignment is that we had to create the details by ourselves and try to replicate the actually chapel exactly, which took time and much more effort. However, it was fun
Export a 3D image shot from the Ron champ Corbusier Chapel and use Photoshop to visualize it
Enhancing what was designed and submitted in an earlier conceptual stage and embracing the representation capabilities and visualization skills.
For me, Photoshop is the most interesting software to use because it allows every person to image something the way he/she sees it without any guidlines. It was not hard for me and it was indeed fun
The Venice Biennale is the most famous exhibition at the international level, and one of the most important exhibitions representing contemporary architecture events. The participating countries compete to show their best architectural works, so that each country is allocated a pavilion in which the works of its participating artists are displayed.
You are invited to design a pavilion to commemorate a notion that reflects “The laboratory of the future”. You are given free rein to choose the concept and its importance to Egypt and humanity.
Paving the way to practice and develop your modelling and creation skills in threedimensional form compositions, which have a meaning as well as an architectural function using 3D modelling methods in Rhinoceros application.
My theme is about the instruments and music, so my model required a lot of interactive elements, and this is what I added in the second phase of the assignment. The process of expressing myself through Rhinoceros was extremely fun and also the imitation of musical instruments into large compositions was fun especially expressing it through an abstract form.
It is required to draw a threedimensional model for the enclosed guest room using Revit Objectives
Learning how to draw architectural drawings with precise dimensions and Getting introduced to the three-dimensional modeling procedure on Revit
The first assignment on Revit was a bit challenging because it is a new software that is also a smart one. It can pick up on small mistakes and everything will be messed from the beginning.
It is required to draw the missing projections of the remaining facade, ground floor plan, and section that cuts through the given drawings of a building
Be able to get drawings from other software other than Rhinoceros, and master the ability to new measures correct
The easiest assignment since measurements are already given. I just believe that this assignment required common sense and referring back to stuff we already were taught in Descriptive Geometry
Continuing in introducing BIM technology, it is required to create a 3D Model for guests’ house as shown in the following drawings using Revit.
Solving the technical connections between the building components and Learning the building construction technical information required to model a building.
It was challenging because of the detailing like the staircases and the placements of interior components. Anything other than that, it was the same steps and exterior placements as In-Lab Task 02, so it was fair and fun.
Description
Operating
Learning how to 3D draw/model different components of a project in different software operating different modelling techniques for curvilinear and rectilinear forms.
The interoperability process as one knows is not easy and is a process of trial and error. However, the interoperability worked for me from the first time.
The final project is about in-depth detailing mini project 1; creating full package drawings of the Rhino model by applying the interoperability process in Revit aiming to extract the plan, section, elevation, and 3D perspective, and visualizing these projections using Photoshop. By this, you will learn how to produce in-depth package drawings for a project. This project aims at strengthening your skills of a digital workflow that you will need in the subsequent design studios.
Strengthening the threedimensional modelling techniques, you have learnt on Rhino and Revit, mastering
Interoperability feature between Rhino and Revit –allowing
merging free-form modelling with BIM Platform, and creating a meaningful, conceptual 3d composition that can be perceived and writing a summary of your idea
