Zaha Hadid’s Riverside Museum Description and Requirement: One is required to create a 3D model of Hadid’s Riverside Museum using attached 2D profile sections with measurements Skills: - Introduction to Rhino interface - Making rectilinear/curvilinear shapes - Editing and moving shapes - Making 3D compositions Reflection: It was the first time for me to navigate and utilize Rhinoceros and it was very confusing to me. However, the assignment itself was easy and it helped me understand the program more as I learned how to move shapes, connect and loft lines, and adjust measurements

Assignment 1

Chaos Vs. Control Description and Requirement: One is required to a 3D composition conveys a meaningful expression from two opposing concepts using tools in Rhinoceros.

I chose the antonyms “ chaos” and “control”.

Skills: - Creating orthogonal shapes - Creating meshes and surfaces - Depicting ideas and thoughts into structures Reflection: This was an easy-going assignment since it was open-ended with no rules attached. However, i failed to accurately portray my idea through my composition because it turned out to be somewhat. I was overwhelmed with the many commands i can possibly use and this led to creating a mess.

The curved, long ribbon illustrates “control”, where it is curving smoothly without any sort of entanglements. The blob in the middle shows an entangled ribbon and clearly portrays a “chaotic” figure.

In-Lab Task 2

Revit Model Guest Studio Description and Requirement: One is required to draw a three-dimensional model for the enclosed guest room using Revit application Skills: - Adapting the BIM concept - Creating accurate projections - Knowledge on buildings Reflection: It was a very fun assignment and I believe that I go MOST projections and measurements right. However, I made the scale of 1:100 instead of the required 1:50 and I did not attach my work as a PDF file, which made me lose marks tremendously.

Assignment 2 Lyon-Saint Airport Railway Station Description and Requirement: One is required to create a 3D model of the French masterpiece of a station using 2D section profiles with measurements Skills: - Surface modelling - Creating meshes for making purposeful 3D compositions - Training of modelling with dimensions Reflection: The assignment has numerous steps to follow and there was lots of dimensions involved unlike the other previous assignments. However, i learned how to accurately create meshes on curvilinear lines and lofting an irregular shape without having any unsmooth edges.

Assignment 4 Training on parallel projections Description and Requirement: One is required to draw the missing facade, ground floor plan and section of the given building on Rhinoceros Skills: - Excelling dimensions and accuracy Reflection: The assignment required critical thinking and common sense as to how the missing side will look given the general shape. I was not able to carefully draw the sectioning and i messed up with the dimensions of the facade of the building.

However, i learned how to create plans on Rhinoceros, not only 3D compositions.

Multi-Storey Guests’ Cottage Description and Requirement: One is required to create a 3D model for guest’s house and replicating the given drawings as continuing in introducing and navigating BIM technology Skills: - Strengthening 3D modeling techniques - Introducing knowledge on building construction elements Reflection: As you can see, i missed lots of major details like the roof stairs.

This messed up the whole look of the cottage as the mistakes are very obvious.

On Interoperability, Centre Pompidou-Metz in Metz

Grade: 76%

Assignment 5 Centre Pompidou-Metz in Metz, France, Description and Requirement: One is required to create a 3D model for the curvilinear tensile roof, export it to Revit to model rectilinear forms of the project and convert Rhino files to BIM native element.

Skills: - Basic Rhino and Revit techniques - Picking surfaces building components Reflection: I personally learned that one can have the best of both worlds using interoperability as we get to benefit from different applications to create a purposeful composition. It was both tiring and a fun experience.

Metaverse Architecture

Mini Project Phase 1 Metaverse Architecture Description and Requirement: Create a purposeful pavilion in the “Metaverse”.

Skills: - Utilizing one’s common sense and creativity to create a purposeful composition Reflection: This mini project helped me explore my thoughts as it challenged my creativity and the ability to reflect my thoughts or ideas on 3D compositions

Description: My idea revolves around the concept of entertainment or having a place where participants in the Metaverse have a place to gather with their friends. Participants can get teleported to the central station using the flying cars and they will automatically get directed to one of the available hubs Feedback: The poster lacked documenting the entire process, the rendered model needed more details more real life imaginations.

Visualisation of 2D Triadic Architectural Projections

Assignment 6 Visualization of 2D triadic Architectural Projections Description and Requirement: One is required to render the 2D projections (plans, sections, and elevations) by photo-editing. It has to be realistic as possible.

Skills: - Produce 2D parallel projections with a certain scale - Rendering by assigning materials - Mastering final rendering techniques on Photoshop Reflection: This was the most fun and entertaining assignment in the whole course. It was up to us to render it and assign it the furniture and floor and ceiling materials and colors we cant. Although i suffered from a problem that lessened of the quality of my work, which is pixelation when shrinking imported pictures from the internet. I wish I did a better job in rendering the walls and having accurate furniture measurements,

Metaverse Architecture In-depth detailing mini project 1

In-Depth Detailing of the Metaverse Architecture project Description and Requirement: Creating full package drawings of the Rhino model by applying the interoperability process in Revit aiming to extract the plan, section, elevation, and 3D perspective, and visualising these projections using Photoshop.

Skills: strengthening 3D modelling techniques in Rhino and Revit.

- Producing drawing from Revit at a certain Scale Reflection: I struggled with applying interoperability but after hours of work I successfully exported my model. Rendering and visualization on Photoshop was extremely fun.
