FOREWORD

Dearfriendsinfootball,

The Guyana Football Federation started

2023 with a focus to strengthen and grow the game following more than eighteen monthsofCovid-19restrictions.

I’m extremely happy with the steps we have taken over the last few months to increase the number of matches played and training and education programmes held across Guyana. We have delivered competitive football with the full support of our Member Associations and corporate Guyana, from the KFC Elite League and MVP Women’s Development League PlayofftotheTigerRentalUnder-13LeagueCup Championship.

We have focused on capacity building with an aim to increase the number of football players, officials and fans. This means, more funds were earmarked for Concacaf and FIFA training programmes, from entry level refereeing to advanced educational coaching programmes toensurerealgrowthinfootball.

Off the pitch, footballers continue to reap the benefits of the GFF-Macorp Excavator and Technician Scholarship Programme, while our national teams are making us proud on the international stage - the Golden Jaguars qualified for the June Concacaf Gold Cup Prelims and the Under-20 Women’s team gave a remarkable performance at the recent Concacaf Championships qualifiers. From infrastructural development to promoting integrity in football through good government, GFF aims to place football firmly in the hearts of all Guyanese. The federation will continue to maintain a strong momentum throughout 2023 as we build on our visionofoneteam, onedream.
