The Great Big Green Week

8th and 16th June

The Great Big Green Week (GBGW) is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate crisis and protect nature. For the third time, Friend of Eastwood Farm are teaming up with Bricks (St Anne’s House) to put together a local programme to join in. So far we plan a Big Balsam Bash (control of invasive species), the launch of a community climate action plan for our neighbourhood, a gardening workshop, opportunities to chat about green things, and some other events .

Do you know about any green/climate-related events, such as clothes swaps, litter picks, green art projects that happen during or around the dates of the GBGW? Do get in touch with Gaby (gsmeier@btinternet.com), these events could be included in GBGW, and more people will hear about it.

To read more about GBGW nationally check Here

Across the country, people and communities are making swaps every day to help create a safer, greener future. This #GreatBigGreenWeek, let’s #SwapTogether for good

Join the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature, taking place between 8th and 16th June All the activities Here

This Sunday with the bible

Every Sunday we have three short passages from the bible to reflect on. There's usually one from the Old Testament - the Jewish bible as well as Christian; one from the life of the early Church after Jesus; and one from the gospel stories of Jesus' life.

Have a read Here

From now we work our way through the 21 Sundays of the green Trinity season. In the bible readings, there is a lovely story from the Old Testament (Jesus’ scriptures) of the young boy Samuel woken by a voice calling him and thinking it was his master. In fact he was being called by God into his new life ahead. Name it conscience, impulse, Spirit of God, but we all have a calling if we listen
