The Great Big Green Week (GBGW) is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate crisis and protect nature. For the third time, Friend of Eastwood Farm are teaming up with Bricks (St Anne’s House) to put together a local programme to join in. So far we plan a Big Balsam Bash (control of invasive species), the launch of a community climate action plan for our neighbourhood, a gardening workshop, opportunities to chat about green things, and some other events .
Do you know about any green/climate-related events, such as clothes swaps, litter picks, green art projects that happen during or around the dates of the GBGW? Do get in touch with Gaby (gsmeier@btinternet.com), these events could be included in GBGW, and more people will hear about it.
To read more about GBGW nationally check Here

Many, many, of us have times of poor mental health or need support for Alzheimer’s or Dementia. There are many opportunities for support available to us all in the following pages 16-21
Last week a questionnaire asked 380 climate scientists what they felt about the future. Their responses make grim, and if you think about too much, terrifying reading. 77 percent of respondents predicted that that global temperatures will reach at least 2.5C within a few decades.

Every Sunday we have three short passages from the bible to reflect on. There's usually one from the Old Testament - the Jewish bible as well as Christian; one from the life of the early Church after Jesus; and one from the gospel stories of Jesus' life.
Have a read Here
Pentecost – the Festival of the Holy Spirit – has arrived! It’s one of the three greatest festivals of the Christian year – up there with Christmas and Easter
It’s sometimes called ‘the birthday of the Church’ because it marks the beginnings of the Christian understanding of the Church as the Body of Christ active in the world through the presence of the Holy Spirit
There are many visual images of the Holy Spirit – doves, flames, wind, breath – and all speak of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control which are ‘the fruits of the Spirit’.
For those who pray, a beautiful prayer for them based on Romans 8.38-39
Jesus, Keep reminding me of the bigger picture over the next few weeks, Keep me in your hands when all other hands disappear,
For I am convinced that neither entry requirements nor exam results, neither anticipation nor doubts, neither success nor failure, nor any expectations, neither last minute fears nor anxieties, nor anything else in life, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen
