2020 PROSPECTUS

FORMULA 4

INTRODUCTION Formula 4 does not need a long introduction, as the internationally recognised and FIA-sanctioned entry into single seater racing. Unfortunately, as we're sure you will be aware if you are reading this, the price for seats in national championships has steadily risen in most countries; with up to £300,000 now being quoted for competitive drives. It is our opinion that this is way too much for a junior formula class, particularly one that positions itself as the first rung of the single seater ladder. This is why we have worked with the team at Danish F4 to create an opportunity for UK drivers to compete in the Danish championship. Although the Danish series may not boast the international exposure and prestige of some other national formula, the equipment and race weekend format is exactly the same, presenting a fantastic opportunity to race in a national F4 series for a fraction of the normal cost. Alongside this, our expertise in driver development means that you’ll be able to progress at your own pace, whether you’re there to win races and the championship or just gain valuable experience in the car.

RACING IN DENMARK As Denmark is a small country, there are a few things that you might find a bit different. Race meetings are usually held over two days instead of three (this is useful to help with travel logistics and keeping costs down). Due to noise restrictions test days are restricted, with two ‘official’ group tests over the season, plus the extra option to test at one track (Padborg Park) on some weekdays during the season. To boost grid sizes the F4 cars have been running together with older F5 spec cars (Formula Ford Duratec with wings) in a multiclass series for the last few seasons. The performance differential for the two cars is not so big, with the F5 cars running with a restrictor to ensure they don’t outpace the F4 grid. The end result of this is bigger grids and close racing throughout the field; the ideal environment to develop your racecraft skills. Oh, and did we mention... there’s even a night race!

WHO WILL THIS BENEFIT? Kart racers looking to make the step up to cars, or drivers who may lack the budget for a drive in British F4 or similar. We see this opportunity as the ideal way to take part in a two year approach to your step up into single seaters. Year one is used as a learning and development year, where you hone your single seater skill set, improve race craft, work on developing key mental skills, and are able to make inevitable mistakes in a pressure-free environment. Year two can then take place in Danish F4 again, or you will be well-placed to progress into another national F4 or single seater formula, now equipped with the experience and knowledge to win and aim for the overall championship. All the while, you may well have spent less money over two years than some drivers do in half a season elsewhere.

PROMOTION & MEDIA COVERAGE You will have plenty of opportunity to develop your media skills with professional video interviews conducted (in English) by the Danish F4 media team after every race. The team will be particularly keen to promote UK drivers traveling over there to compete in the series and tell their story. Professional photographers are on hand at every round capturing both paddock/pit lane and ‘on-track’ action shots which you will have access to use as you wish after the event. This year, the exciting talent of Japan’s Juju Noda will be participating in Danish F4 with the NODA Racing Team, which is likely to increase the media attention and interest in the series outside of Denmark and the UK.

The feeling of speed is not so different, so that does not take too much getting used to. The main thing is the awareness of space and always knowing where all four corners of the car are, which takes some initial learning compared to driving a kart. The starts are very different for sure, but it's something that I've quickly been able to pick up. This whole weekend for us has been about learning and just getting comfortable and used to the car, while we see what the plan is for next year... but it has also been a lot of fun!
