Flood-affected residents of Region Five were given additional relief when two new pumps were installed to address flooding in the communities. Minister of Public Infrastructure, David Patterson, was on hand to witness the installation in affected areas such as Trafalgar, Number 28, Number 29 and Number 33 villages. Minister Patterson explained that one of the primary objectives is to ensure better or continuous maintenance, “since the sluice and pump at Trafalgar which drained the area needed to be maintained better,” to remove excess water from the land. The minister noted that, “what I noticed is that there was a lot of water in the area.
