The Guyana Public Service Cooperative Credit Union Limited (GPSCCUL) on Wednesday donated a sculpted piece to the National Art Gallery-Castellani House. The piece was unveiled in the presence of Members of the Board of the Art Gallery and the Board of Directors of GPSCCUL. The sculpture was done by Winslow Craig. The piece, sculpted from a mahogany tree trunk, displays a carved image of the map of Guyana embellished with the number ‘50’ on the face along with Jaguars at both sides. Supporting the map are the credit union ‘hands’ and a fleet of steps which represent Guyana’s journey to independence. Carved at the back of the figure are roots representing the origins of our nation. (GINA photo)
