NORTHERN SHOOTING SHOW SOLD Surprise swoop leaves industry reeling as Game Fair snaps up another show THE Northern Shooting Show has been acquired by events and media company Stable Events Ltd for an undisclosed sum. Stable Events Ltd brings with it the organisational team behind the Game Fair, the GWCT Scottish Game Fair and World Gunmakers Evening. It is also the owner of Gun Trade News. The Northern Shooting Show will take place for the fifth time on May 7-8 2022 at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate. The uniquely placed venue also
strength to strength for many years to come. It is a vital event for the industry and was sorely missed during the Covid hiatus. We will be bringing our passion for the countryside and our event expertise to develop the show whilst maintaining its specialist shooting focus.” “Stable Events Ltd brings a wealth of marketing and PR strength, alongside commercial and organisational experience. We are delighted to be working alongside this new team to deliver the most compre-
“The Northern Shooting Show will take place on May 7-8 ” has room to accommodate expansion of the event and a favourable ‘free car parking’ policy, which is critical for high visitor attendance. The two-day event expects to welcome around 20,000 shooting enthusiasts this year. Exhibitors and visitors have been assured that they will not notice any difference to the show under the new owners.
Strength to strength James Gower, Managing Director of Stable Events Ltd, said, “The team and I are pleased to have secured the running of the Northern Show in May and will ensure that the show continues to go from
hensive dedicated shooting show in Great Britain,” added Paul Whitelam, Show Organiser. The acquisition is arguably the most impressive in a busy few months for a reinvigorated Stable Events, which has seen it use its new financial backing to acquire the Scottish Game Fair and Gun Trade News, among other key British shooting media brands. Insiders have told GTN that the deal was not about the Northern Shooting Show being in financial trouble but rather that there was a recognition that the previous owner’s tenure had run its course and that there was now a need for a new focus to help the show grow in the years to come. PULSAR LAUNCHES THREE NEW PRODUCTS AT SHOT SHOW LEADING thermal optics manufacturer Pulsar has extended its already impressive range with not one, nor two, but three new releases made simultaneously at the SHOT show in January. First in the line-up is the long-awaited thermal imaging riflescope, the Thermion 2 LRF XP50 PRO— a Thermion with a built-in precision laser rangefinder. The integrated compact laser rangefinder fits into a single optical channel and features a measuring distance of up to 800 metres and thermal detection range up to 1,800 metres. The Thermion is joined by a compact thermal imaging riflescope, the Talion XQ38. The user-centred design of the Talion XQ38 proudly carries the Made in Europe flag and is designed to fully adapt to the hunter’s needs. Starting with the multi-point mounting prism for exact positioning on the rifle, you simply move the riflescope back and forth until you reach the most comfortable viewing position. In order to eliminate distractions as much as possible, there’s a new battery cover for the Talion that features a rapid extraction latch for fast and flawless battery replacement, even in complete darkness. The access to the controls has been simplified and Pulsar has implemented a new touch feature—particularly convenient for night shooting—a precise focusing ring with an integrated fin lever. This enables correct focusing in an instant, with no need for you to look at the riflescope. Last is the Axion 2 XQ35 and its LRF version of thermal vision monoculars. These feature a high sensitivity French-made Lynred thermal imaging sensor, upgraded image quality and extended battery life, while maintaining the premium feel of Europe-
an design and best in class measuring accuracy. All this comes at a better price than ever before. Pulsar’s products are distributed in the UK by Thomas Jacks and the company is considered to be one of the leading thermal imaging and night vision manufacturers in the world, with a product range of over 30 riflescopes, monoculars and binoculars. The company behind Pulsar is Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide. The company was founded in 1998 and its headquarters are in Vilnius, Lithuania. It makes products for the civilian market only and has offices and manufacturing facilities around the globe as well as a distribution network that covers more than 70 countries. GTN
