Personal development on all levels Culture is work for some, a hobby for many others and adds spice to life for most of us. Art and culture are therefore of value to most of us and the municipality’s most important task should be to facilitate personal development on all levels. We seek to establish a responsible economic policy in relation to investments and the management of cultural buildings in Bergen and to avoid economic obligations for the management of new cultural buildings in the city centre. Government-run cultural institutions in Bergen should remain a government responsibility and not be transferred to the county municipality.
Cultural centres in all districts Folkets Parti believes there should be a cultural centre in all city districts and that one should be established in Fyllingsdalen. We also want the restored Eksersérhus to be a cultural centre for volunteer initiatives and amateur culture. We believe it is important to have libraries in all city districts and to strengthen their role as cultural institutions.
