A well-functioning municipality

Doing away with unnecessary bureaucracy

Municipal services are financed with taxpayer money. This requires that every level of government must take a rational approach to using this money as effectively as possible, exercise responsibility and choose cost-effective solutions that benefit residents. Folkets Parti believes that much can be achieved through eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy and focusing more on digital services.

Less administration – more services

The municipality of Bergen is the largest employer in the region, with around 19,000 employees. Folkets Parti wants to streamline administrative processes in the municipality. We want good services for all residents and are less concerned with where those who offer these services are employed. The municipality needs more ‘heads and hands’ in schools, healthcare and child welfare services.

We ask the right questions!

Service-oriented municipality

The municipality of Bergen should be a service-based municipality. All municipal departments and institutions are here to serve residents. Residents who contact them should expect to receive assistance, advice and guidance from service-minded staff.

Restoration and maintenance

Folkets Parti believes that the municipality of Bergen has a debt problem. The debt burden must be reduced by investing less in new building developments and projects in the years ahead. The necessary restoration and maintenance of municipal buildings should be prioritised. There should also be a stronger focus on the preventative maintenance of municipal buildings performed by reliable caretakers.

No more climate police

Folkets Parti wants to close down the municipal climate agency. Climate measures and accountability are already incorporated into most projects and measures implemented by the municipality. As a result, there is no longer a need for a municipal climate police force.
