VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

DEBI WILLIS

In a world that often moves quickly, some people leave a lasting impact with their dedication and passion. Debi Willis of Cary, NC, is one of those extraordinary individuals who has devoted an incredible 36 years to shaping the lives of Girl Scouts in the Wake 19 area.

As a proud mom of two daughters, Debi began her journey as a troop leader for her own girls, and that spark ignited a lifelong commitment to Girl Scouts Over the years, she has led four troops, two of which she guided from Daisies all the way through to graduating Ambassadors Along the way, she has shown her girls not just the skills they need to succeed, but the importance of community, leadership, and adventure Debi’s troops have traveled far and wide, visiting places like West Virginia, South Carolina, Washington D.C., and Georgia, learning and growing with each new experience.

But Debi’s impact doesn’t stop there. Since 2003, she has served as the Service Unit Area Coordinator for Wake 19, providing invaluable leadership and support to 72 troops and countless volunteers in the Cary/Morrisville area. Whether it's offering guidance to new leaders, sharing her expertise at council events, or supporting administrative volunteers, Debi’s dedication has been a cornerstone of the community’s success.

When asked why she has devoted so much of her life to Girl Scouts, Debi shared, “I love watching the girls grow up and seeing the amazing things they do after Girl Scouts. I also love helping the leaders along their journey.”

Debi, we are so incredibly grateful for your unwavering commitment, your heart for service, and your dedication to helping girls and leaders reach their fullest potential. You are truly an inspiration, and we are lucky to have you in our Girl Scout family.
