Shainaz Landge, Associate Professor of Chemistry has collaborated with Georgia College & State University, Statesboro STEAM Charter School and Newton College and Career Academy. The project will transfer undergraduate research experience (URE) as an evidence-based, successful STEM earning model to the High School (HS) level and promote rigorous early STEM learning. The program is called PRESS: Promoting a Rural Essential and Sustainable STEM.
The launch orientation for the PRESS project was on September 27th. The undergraduate research scholars visited Statesboro STEAM academy and it was a great success! The 11-12th graders were curious, initially hesitant and later had a lot of questions.
