Research Facilities - Issue 2
The COSM Core Research Laboratory (CCRL) is available to all faculty, staff and students pursuing research projects at Georgia Southern University. The facilities are also available to external users by contacting Dr. Brent Feske, Associate Dean of Research and External Affairs, and Director of the CCRL for in formation and pricing. Internal (GS) user pricing is available by contacting ORSSP(during external proposal development) or Dr. Brent Feske (for updated usage costs).
To check the present status of the instrument and/or sign up for a time slot, please visit the CCRL website. We also have two new instruments! They are the Shimadzu LCMS-9030 and JEOLECZL-440S NMR.
Shimadzu LCMS-9030 mass spectrometer is a quadrupole time-of-flight mass analyzer capable of ppm mass accuracy and resolving power of 40,000 FWHM. HPLC (Nexera30-C4 and C18 columns) and direct injection capabilities are available.
JEOL-400 is a 400 MHz NMR spectrometer that is used for solution based applications. It is equipped with a JEOLECZL-400S console, 400YH magnet on an anti-vibration platform and a HFXS probe. It can run on full automation with a 24 position auto sampler unit.
