Come è nata la passione per la televisione? Ho studiato per anni recitazione e danza. Ho debuttato con Mario Monicelli in Amici Miei e volevo fare la ballerina. Sognavo opera e musical. Quale programma la emoziona maggiormente? Verdetto Finale è nato con me, non aveva precedenti conduzioni e lo sento mio. L’anno prossimo saremo al sesto anno e mi emozionano certe tematiche familiari con cui sento di aiutare tanta gente che ci segue. Lo zecchino d’oro è il festival di Sanremo dei piccoli. Avere successo nel mondo dell’infanzia ed essere riconfermata per tanti anni mi gratifica e oggi, che vivo in prima persona la maternità, mi coinvolge come conduttrice e come mamma. Essere di origine campana ha segnato il suo destino? Per realizzarmi ho dovuto abbandonare la mia terra ma da essa traggo energie e risorse continue. Devo tornare periodicamente nei luoghi della memoria, del cuore, per rigenerarmi. Ne ha la possibilità? Molto spesso.Ultimamente mio marito Marco, chirurgo plastico, ha aperto una Medical Spa a Sorrento e ho un motivo in più. Capri per voi ha un significato speciale? Eravamo due vagabondi di Napoli. Marco a Londra per lavoro e io in giro per il mondo, ma ci siamo conosciuti e innamorati a Capri!

How have you developed a passion for television? I studied drama and ballet for years. I made my debut with Mario Monicelli in Amici Miei and I wanted to be a ballet dancer. I had dreams of opera and musicals. What TV show are you the most fond of? I was the first to host Verdetto Finale and I am very attached to it. Next year, the show will be in its sixth year and I am moved by the stories we tell, which I believe can be helpful for our audience. Lo zecchino d’oro is the equivalent of the Sanremo music festival for children. Being successful in the children’s world for so many years is very rewarding and now that I have experienced motherhood myself, I feel even more involved as both the host and a mother. Have your Southern-Italian origins influenced your fate in any way? I have had to leave my homeland to find professional fulfillment, but it goes on providing me with energy and resources. I periodically feel the need to go back to the place of the heart, of my dearest memories, to feel reborn. Do you have the chance? Very often. It is like going back to a simple world that restores me to balance and provides me with the energy I need to keep my job and family going. My husband Marco, a plastic surgeon, has recently opened a Medical SPA in Sorrento, so now I have one reason more to go back home. Does Capri have any special meaning for the two of you? We were like two vagabonds from Naples. Marco in London for business and I was always travelling the world, but we met and fell in love in Capri!
