EXPERIENCE MINNEAPOLIS

Home to a variety of world-class venues and amenities, Minneapolis is ready to host your meetings and events

Minneapolis has all the modern amenities that befit one of the largest metropolitan areas in the Midwest. Boasting more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies, plus over a half-million small businesses, Minneapolis is well-equipped to address the needs of modern professionals across myriad industries. But Minneapolis is more than a regional economic hub—it’s surrounded by one of the top park systems in the country and is home to six professional sports teams, a flourishing arts community, and dozens of award-winning restaurants. In short, your attendees will find plenty of entertainment here. No matter your business or experiential goals, Minneapolis is ready to make your gathering the experience of a lifetime.

UNPARALLELED VENUES

Minneapolis

kind in the world!), the MCC gives guests comfortable access to other Minneapolis venues like U.S. Bank Stadium, Target Field, and Target Center, as well as 4,000 nearby hotel rooms.

One of Minnesota’s top event venues is the Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC). The MCC is the largest convention center in the Upper Midwest and can accommodate any event, whether it be trade and consumer shows, sports tournaments, career fairs, galas, concerts—you name it, MCC can do it! For indoor gettogethers, the MCC has more than 475,000 square feet of exhibit space, 87 meeting rooms, and flexible exhibit halls and auditoriums, all equipped with the latest communication and presentation technology. Alternatively, host an outdoor event on the MCC’s 70,000-square-foot Plaza, which can accommodate groups as large as 2,000 for events under blue skies and sunshine.

Getting to and from the MCC is a walk in the park, so to speak. It’s only 20 minutes from the airport, along popular bus routes,

Athletes aren’t the only ones who utilize these state-of-the-art stadiums. U.S. Bank Stadium is home to the Minnesota Vikings and has hosted a variety of events, like the 2018 Super Bowl, the X Games from 2017-2020, and concerts for world-famous artists. In the Delta Sky360° Club, up to 600 guests get an expansive view of the field. The sophisticated two-story Medtronic Club features refined accents—such as gas fireplaces and quartz surfaces—with seating for up to 1,100 and an 11,555-square-foot lounge space. The glass roof makes it feel like an outdoor stadium, while shielding guests from the elements for a comfortable event experience.

The Minnesota Twins call Target Field home, but there’s no shortage of options for hosting your meeting or event at this baseball stadium. You can rent out the whole stadium and fill it to capacity—a mere 39,000-person guest list will do—or you can find a smaller space for your event. For intimate gatherings, the Truly on Deck has room for up to 400 guests to be surrounded by Twins history, peer out floor-to-ceiling windows, and experience a relaxed pub vibe. Otherwise, consider the Budweiser Roof

Deck to enjoy an unobstructed view of the field, or grab one of 120 fixed seats (plus additional space for standing) for a wonderful outdoor experience. The multiuse entertainment venue Target Center is constantly looking to improve guests’ experience. Event planners and sports fans alike can’t get enough of this space’s new features. The ease of access, including an 8,400-square-foot loadin area, makes the center perfect for any size event, and planners can enjoy revamped rooms including the sleek and urban TCL SixOneTwo Lounge on the skyway level (capacity 250) and Club TI (capacity 30).

St. Paul

Lovingly known as “The X,” Xcel Energy Center is a multipurpose arena in downtown St. Paul and is home to more than 150 annual sporting and entertainment events that welcome 1.7 million visitors each year. It encompasses 650,000 square feet with four seating levels, a press level, and four separate concourses. The Minnesota Wild NHL team plays here, but the four-tiered venue is no stranger to corporate and private events. Set the stage for a business meeting, conference, or gala in one of the unique spaces at The X that can accommodate a wide range of gathering sizes. Host a smaller group of 49 in the Alumni Lounge or Event Suites, a reception for 325 at the Club Level Restaurant, and anything in between in the number of other private event options.

St. Paul’s newest arena, Allianz Field, is home to the Minnesota United FC for soccer fans and is perfect for hosting events including concerts, festivals, private parties, and corporate functions. Whether your event is large or small, available spaces start at 1,000 square feet and extend all the way up to 1.22 acres. Allianz Field offers a unique atmosphere, with multiple premium clubs for corporate and large gatherings, from the intimate Upper 90 Club or Owner’s Suite to the Brew Hall space that features a 60-foot bar with 96 taps (including a selection of locally brewed beers!) to a spacious Roof Deck. Bask outside during the warmer months on the 28,000-square-foot Great Lawn which acts as the stadium’s front yard and year-round green space, a place perfect for large gatherings and festivals. Guests will appreciate that Allianz is conveniently located off Interstate 94 and Snelling Avenue in St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood.

ENDLESS ENTERTAINMENT

Just a 15-minute drive (or 30-minute light rail ride) away from the MCC is nearby attraction Mall of America (MOA). Besides its more than 500 stores, 50 eateries, and 7-acre indoor theme park (which you can rent out), this famous shopping haven has plenty of group-friendly attractions. SEA LIFE at Mall of America houses a 1.3-million-gallon tank brimming with sea creatures, and the FlyOver America simulation ride highlights our country’s natural wonders and landmarks.

Downtown Minneapolis is home to the Hennepin Theater District, where visitors can take in shows at local favorites like the Orpheum, Pantages, and State theaters, as well as Brave New Workshop. The nearby Guthrie Theater has three stages and frequently offers classic shows, as well as new and exciting productions. Enjoy performances at the Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts, known for supportive and inclusive programs, spaces, and educative initiatives, as well as enthralling

performances. To get your fill of laughter, Acme Comedy Co. is a Minnesota staple for memorable standup comedy, and the Northrop Auditorium on the University of Minnesota campus hosts a wide range of performances across genres.

There are few better musical cities than Minneapolis. Famous acts like Prince and Bob Dylan lived in the area and frequented the venues around here—and with good reason. At the top of the list is First Avenue & 7th St. Entry, the outside of which features a Minnesota take on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—a wall of painted stars highlighting the great acts who have played there. Just blocks away from First Avenue is Fine Line, a two-level venue with two full bars. The newest venue on the block, The Fillmore Minneapolis, has prime event spaces, plus an adjoining restaurant and hotel. The Armory was previously built for the Minnesota National Guard but is now a modern music venue with a historic twist. Jazz fans should make time to stop for dinner and a concert at the split-level Dakota, and for classical music connoisseurs, you won’t regret a night at Orchestra Hall on the Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis.

FOOD & DRINK

The Minneapolis food scene continues to grow and excite. With numerous award-winning restaurants to sample, there’s sure to be a restaurant to satisfy every palate. Hip, French-inspired restaurant Spoon and Stable gained fame for its owner, celebrity chef Gavin Kaysen. The James Beard Award winner has made multiple “Chopped” appearances and could think of no better place than his hometown of Minneapolis to build a restaurant.

Mouthwatering fried chicken and other Southern comfort food options are the draw of Revival MPLS, which has become one of Minneapolis’ hottest dining spots. The multiple, everbusy Wrecktangle Pizza locations in Minnesota show why it’s an area favorite—not to mention, Good Morning America ranked Wrecktangle as the best pizzeria in the country in February 2023. Complete with a ’70s lounge and throwback menu options— alongside delectable pizza—it’s a must-visit for a good slice of pie. James Beard finalist Christina Nguyen created Hai Hai, a Southeast Asian restaurant and bar to celebrate the dishes she grew up eating at home. Now, it’s one of the city’s hot spots for a bite in the dining room or to savor a drink on the patio.

A HUB OF TRANSPORTATION

Traverse Minneapolis with ease by utilizing Metro Transit ’s bus and light rail systems. Numerous bus lines shuttle riders throughout Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the surrounding suburbs with frequent stops. The Blue Line runs from downtown Minneapolis, past Mall of America to the airport; whereas the Green Line goes from downtown Minneapolis to St. Paul, where stops bring riders directly to the St. Paul RiverCentre, Allianz Field, and Xcel Energy Center.

There’s truly nowhere like Minneapolis. The paradoxical metropolis surrounded by green space makes it an experience unlike any other. This city provides space and amenities to bring your meeting and event goals to life. Keep your events casual and intimate, or put on an event your guests are unlikely to forget. Whatever you prefer, Minneapolis will provide all you need and more—much more.

NICOLLET

Get to know the “Main Street of Minneapolis”

Nicollet (aka Nicollet Mall) is a tree-lined avenue that runs through the heart of downtown Minneapolis, and is only a few blocks from the Minneapolis Convention Center. Buses and taxis are the only motorized vehicles that can use this pedestrian-friendly road, leaving people free to walk between the restaurant patios, shopping destinations, and public art displays.

At the southern end of Nicollet, you’ll find Orchestra Hall, home to the Grammy-winning Minnesota Orchestra and six event spaces that can host seated dinners, pre- or post-concert gatherings, and more. Many of the spaces afford great views of downtown and Peavey Plaza, a sunken amphitheater with water features and a reflection pool.

Across the street, Brit’s Pub serves English pub fare and pints for guests to enjoy while partaking in rooftop lawn bowling (its rooftop is also one of its private dining spaces). Nearby, get a dinner-and-ashow experience at Dakota, a jazz club with nightly performances. The venue can also host private events for 10 to 350. Host a unique team-building experience solving immersive puzzles at Escape The Room Minneapolis, and then head over to Devil’s Advocate for food from pasta and pizza to burgers and steak, along with craft brews and cocktails.

Nicollet is also a popular spot for lunch and happy hour on its many spacious patios. Barrio is a vibrant tequila bar with bold cocktails and scratch-made Latin American plates. Next door, The Local is a classic Irish pub characterized by its hand-carved, 80-foot-long bar, offering fish and chips, Irish whiskey, and event spaces and nooks for 15 to 450. Across the street, The News Room is known for its eclectic American menu including delectable pastas, sandwiches, steaks, and martinis.

Fun fact: The Gaviidae Common building’s name is a reference to the scientific moniker for the Minnesota state bird, the common

loon. Here, you’ll find KISA Boutique, specializing in European clothing and goods, and Uniquely Global which has a wide range of global fashions, accessories, and art pieces. In the IDS Center, discover one-of-a-kind items at Sistah Co-op, a collaborative shop that celebrates local BIPOC brands and business owners. Target has a two-level convenient location at its corporate headquarters on Ninth Street.

On Seventh Street, the statue of Mary Tyler Moore raises a hat to this city that starred with her on her 1970s TV show. At the north end of Nicollet, the Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center has recommendations for the best of dining, entertainment, and attractions— plus souvenirs crafted by local makers. The visitor center is right in front of the Nicollet Mall light rail station, where attendees can easily hop on to explore other parts of downtown or plan an excursion to St. Paul or Mall of America.

LORING PARK

Discover fine dining, artistic institutions, and beautiful green spaces adjacent to downtown

A quick walk southwest on Nicollet will lead to the Loring Greenway. This landscaped walkway’s water features and public art are a pleasant addition on the walk to Loring Park, where you’ll find a small lake surrounded by walking and biking paths. Cross the vibrant yellow and blue pedestrian bridge over Interstate 94 to

HENNEPIN THEATER DISTRICT

Visit the heart of the city’s famous performing arts scene

Whether you are a long-time friend of the theater or new to the scene, the Hennepin Theater District has exciting entertainment options in the form of concerts, musicals, plays, and other performances. For the past 100 years, this downtown district has dazzled Minnesotans and visitors with its twinkling marquees, show-stopping numbers, and spacious rooftop patios. A trip to the Theater District is always an unforgettable night in the city.

Here, you’ll find historic theaters operated by the Hennepin Theatre Trust: the Orpheum, State, and Pantages. Together, these venues host concerts, speakers, comedians, touring Broadway shows, and more. The Trust also operates The Hennepin, an arts and cultural events center. While organizers can make use of the theater group’s discounts on tickets, other theatergoing experiences in the area include Brave New Workshop at the Dudley Riggs Theatre, the nation’s oldest satire theater, and performances at the esteemed Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts.

For live music enthusiasts, First Avenue is the place to be. Its exterior walls are covered in history—hundreds of white painted stars proclaim the names of past performers, including Aerosmith, Queen Latifah, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and, in gold leaf, Minneapolis’ hometown hero, Prince. Its main stage is legendary, and the

adjoining 7th St. Entry, a smaller performance space, is dedicated to up-and-coming artists. If rocking out sounds right for your event, consider renting out either venue. You can also check out Skyway Theatre, where you can rent the main stage area, or one of its smaller spaces like Studio B, which offers spectacular city views.

After performers have taken their final bows, treat your attendees to a meal at restaurants like CRAVE American Kitchen & Sushi Bar and The Capital Grille, both of which share a building with the State Theatre and offer private dining experiences. On warm nights, wine and dine guests at Union Bar & Grill, Minneapolis’ only year-round, glass-enclosed rooftop, which can be reserved for private parties. Savor the flavors of Brazil at Fogo de Chão, which can accommodate groups from 10 to 100. A block away, see the iconic neon sign of Murray’s Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge, operated by three generations of the same family. The historic space is also available for private dining.

If your attendees are looking for casual activities in the area, there are plenty of places to host a happy hour or split a mid-day meal. For example, The Depot Tavern attached to First Avenue serves terrific pub grub. Try U.K.-inspired Lyon’s Pub for weekly deals on rotational taps and mouthwatering bar bites, or stop by O’Donovan’s Irish Pub and Gluek’s Bar & Restaurant.

DOWNTOWN EAST & MILL CITY

A historic district where Minneapolis’ past intermingles with the city’s modern dining, entertainment, and sports

The Downtown East and Mill City District is the perfect postcard for Minneapolis, home to some of the most iconic landmarks and breathtaking views in the city. People from all walks of life come here to soak in a surplus of history, art, nature, architecture, sports, nightlife, and culinary excellence. Over the past few decades, this area has undergone a massive transformation. What was once covered in parking lots and railroad tracks has given way to sleek condos, office buildings, and fresh eateries. Its access to landmarks, skyline views, ample green space, and impressive sporting and music venues make this district of Minneapolis an ideal spot to host events and gatherings of all sizes.

This area alone is packed with attractions enjoyed by Minneapolitans and out-of-towners alike. Welcoming you into the neighborhood is the glistening U.S. Bank Stadium, home to the Minnesota Vikings, sporting events like the Summer X Games, and concerts for some of the world’s biggest musicians. In front of the stadium is The Commons, a 4.2-acre public park that hosts public events and seasonal activities. A few blocks away is the historic Minneapolis Armory, once the site for Prince’s “1999” music video. The venue now fills its schedule with concerts, sporting events, trade shows, and other private events.

The Mill City District is named for the city’s industrial mills once powered by the rushing waters of St. Anthony Falls. While the mills are no longer running, you can visit the Mill City Museum to learn more about why our city was once the flour milling capital of the

world—plus, visitors can enjoy expansive views of the Minneapolis skyline from the top of the museum. Down the street from the museum is the Guthrie Theater, which holds performances on its three stages and offers gorgeous views of the Mississippi from its 178-foot “Endless Bridge” and enclosed, yellow-filtered “Amber Box” balcony. On-site dining experiences are offered at the newly opened, fifth-floor restaurant Ovation, as well as full bar service at the fourth-floor Target Lounge. The unique space is also available for hosting private corporate events or conferences year-round.

Adjacent to the theater is the lovely 7.4-acre Gold Medal Park, a riverfront lawn perfect for picnicking and public events. Locals often meander to the West River Parkway, which offers great views, plus biking and walking paths. If you go far enough, you will arrive at the St. Anthony Falls Visitor Center and the photogenic Stone Arch Bridge, where you can take in breathtaking views of St. Anthony Falls.

After all that walking, you’re sure to work up an appetite. Luckily, there are plenty of excellent eateries in this neighborhood. Located inside the Canopy Hotel, Umbra serves seasonal bistro fare with fresh ingredients from local producers, and nearby Boludo opened its second empanada eatery just steps away from U.S. Bank Stadium. Curb your hunger at Zen Box Izakaya, which

NORTH LOOP & WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

This neighborhood offers some of the city’s best fashion and dining, housed in historic architecture

When in Minneapolis, you’re sure to hear buzz about the North Loop and Warehouse District’s award-winning restaurants, ontrend boutiques, high-profile music and sporting events, and its multitude of breweries and cideries. This walkable neighborhood is perfect for meetings and conventions, with plenty of activities to keep attendees entertained during downtime.

The North Loop has one of the city’s highest concentrations of award-winning chefs and restaurants. Hot spot Spoon and Stable’s upscale menu features seasonal fare prepared with French culinary influences. The restaurant, located in a former horse stable, is overseen by 2018 James Beard Award-winning local chef Gavin Kaysen, the man who is also behind Mara and Demi, two other celebrated Minneapolis restaurants. Dine on New American fare at Isaac Becker’s flagship restaurant 112 Eatery or his nearby joint Bar La Grassa, which serves lauded Italian cuisine complemented by a legendary wine list. Drop by Billy Sushi, where two-time Global Sushi Challenge contender Billy Tserenbat serves up authentic cuisine. Skilled mixologists shake up cocktails in Billy After Dark, the restaurant’s basement bar.

The neighborhood also has options for a more relaxed dining experience. The Freehouse is a local favorite, praised for its gastropub fare and house-brewed beer. Plus, its Volstead Lounge can be privately booked for groups of up to 50 people (75 for a standing cocktail hour). Borough is known for its contemporary cuisine, as

well as its brisket-blend burger, which is found on multiple “Best Burger” lists. Be sure to drop by Borough’s basement bar, Parlour, for timeless cocktails created by the area’s top bartenders. For seafood lovers, Smack Shack has mastered lobster rolls, calamari, and jambalaya. New to the neighborhood is Butcher & The Boar, where the meat-focused menu pairs with fine bourbon cocktails and craft brews.

The neighborhood’s food halls allow groups to dine together, without having to compromise on everyone’s personal favorite cuisines. Graze Provisions + Libations has two levels, two bars, six restaurant installments with international options, and a rooftop patio that offers skyline views. North Loop Galley dishes up everything from Detroit-style pizza to Hawaiian poke bowls. The area is also home to several breweries and cideries with event space—start by checking out award-winning Fulton Beer and neighborhood favorite Number 12 Cider

The North Loop is one of the best areas to host a hip happy hour. The Monte Carlo is a 1960s supper club offering stellar martinis, classic dishes, and private dining rooms that can hold up to 100 people for networking, meetings, and more. For a fun spin on your afternoon plans, go virtual golfing at Thr3 Jack and snack on small bites or dabble in their full menu for lunch and dinner options. For entertainment, see a show at Fine Line or The Fillmore, or watch a sports game at Target Center or Target Field

A quick shopping spree is the perfect break after a day of meetings, and this neighborhood is bursting at the seams with options. Before you hit the shops, consider recharging at Backstory Coffee Roasters, a spacious and charming coffee shop located in the lobby of The Duffey lofts. Once caffeinated, swing into D. Nolo to shop stylish apparel from both established and up-and-coming designers. Parc is your destination for minimalistic and sustainable women’s clothing and accessories, with a thoughtfully curated selection from independent designers. MartinPatrick3 specializes in modern clothing and accessories for all genders, and Statement Boutique stocks women’s jewelry and apparel, many of which are made by local artists and designers.

DINKYTOWN

Find nonstop entertainment in this college town within a city

Dinkytown—in the heart of the East Bank campus of the renowned University of Minnesota Twin Cities—provides thousands of students, staff, and visitors with everything they could need to excel academically and professionally. But the campus area also includes restaurants, entertainment, and an array of event spaces. Beyond its helpful amenities, including local copy shops, salons, and repair stores, Dinkytown offers a terrific lineup of eateries and entertainment.

Laid-back Dinkytown classics include the cozy 24-seat diner, Al’s Breakfast, a favorite for early morning meals, and Blarney Pub & Grill, which has the perfect small-town pub vibe. In a rush? Local favorites Shuang Cheng, Le Pot, and Wally’s Falafel and Hummus are great choices for takeout. Grab a post-meeting treat or indulge a late-night craving at Insomnia Cookies, the cookie and ice cream store that delivers until 3 a.m. A mile away from Dinkytown (and an easy trip via the METRO Green Line) is Surly Brewing Co., famous for its Surly Furious beer. Host your event at the brewery’s 175-person Scheid Hall—which conveniently offers

audiovisual equipment, linen, and decor—or if you’d prefer to be outdoors, enjoy a sunny private event at its Festival Field. For a nightlife atmosphere, head to a concert at the Varsity Theater, which can host groups of 25 to 750.

Stadium Village, just southeast of Dinkytown, is the home for all things Golden Gopher athletics—plus more great restaurants. You can’t miss the towering Huntington Bank Stadium, which is best known as the home stadium of the university’s football team. Nearby, you’ll find more Gopher athletics at the hockey rinks in 3M Arena at Mariucci and Ridder Arena, or in Williams Arena, known as “The Barn” to locals and visitors alike. Eventgoers can find more eateries to the south, including Afro Deli & Grill, which has delicious fries, gyros, falafel, and salads. Serving sandwiches, burgers, and classic bar food, both Sally’s Saloon and Stub & Herbs are longtime favorites for sports fans and alumni. As an added bonus, both are open to arrange group dining.

UPTOWN

This south Minneapolis neighborhood offers recreation, retail, and local favorites

Uptown promises a day jampacked with trendy spots and fun activities. The neighborhood that follows Hennepin Avenue southwest out of downtown Minneapolis is home to young professionals and families who flock to the beaches of Bde Maka Ska. Meaning “White Earth Lake” in Dakota, Bde Maka Ska is perfect for an afternoon of lakeside walking, biking, or relaxing. If you’d rather explore on wheels, visit Perennial Cycle, where you can find e-bikes, Brompton bikes, and even tricycles for the little ones.

Uptown takes visitors from daytime recreation to nightlife with well-known restaurants and bars just blocks away from the Chain of Lakes. Split some appetizers and cocktails at the Granada Theater’s Uptown Lobby Bar & Restaurant, and do dinner at Sooki & Mimi, where local celebrity chef Ann Kim creates Latin American and Asian fusion fare. Barbette is a casual French bistro, and Origami is praised for its sushi and other traditional Japanese dishes. For even more delicious options, visit nearby Eat Street, a 17-block stretch of Nicollet Avenue that caters to all palates with endless cuisine options. On parallel Lyndale Avenue, grab a drink at Volstead’s Emporium or Lyn-Lake Brewery

This walkable neighborhood is also a great place to indulge in some retail therapy. Pick up your next beach read at Magers & Quinn Booksellers, shop the latest trends in womenswear at Les Sól, or find a unique vintage piece at Legacy.

Up-Down Minneapolis, Arts + Rec, and Bryant-Lake Bowl are perfect for a friends’ night out—play classic arcade games, go bowling, and listen to live music along Lake Street. You might also catch a production at the Jungle Theater or an improv comedy show at HUGE Improv Theater. For group-bonding, HUGE Improv offers teambuilding and creativity workshops.

NORTHEAST MINNEAPOLIS

Across from downtown, discover art galleries, breweries, and other hidden gems

Northeast Minneapolis is a hub of creativity and homegrown culture. Gallery and artist spaces like the Northrup King Building, Solar Arts Building, and Casket Arts Building are open to the public and highlight artists of many different mediums. Northeast is also home to the majority of the city’s breweries, distilleries, and cideries. Visit the taprooms of Dangerous Man Brewing Co., Indeed Brewing Co., Bauhaus Brew Labs, or Insight Brewing for good company and even better libations. Bring a friend to share a cider at Sociable Cider Werks, or head to Norseman Distillery or Tattersall Distilling for a craft cocktail.

Summer in Northeast calls for MN Nice Cream, a popular pick for sweet tooths and Insta-gurus alike. Larger groups should head to Psycho Suzi’s Waterfront Lounge for riverside views on its patio and tasty rum drinks. Its upstairs hideaway, the ShangriLa Lounge, holds 325 people. And any event is made a breeze at

Minneapolis Event Centers, an award-winning venue with several distinct spaces and a professional event staff.

Just across the Mississippi River from the Mill District is St. Anthony Main, a charming neighborhood filled with historic character. Right along the cobblestone Main Street is the romantic Aster Cafe, the Victorian-style Pivo Riverplace, and the vintagechic Jefe Urban Cocina. Contact these restaurants to reserve a private dining space for your event. The Sonder Shaker offers cocktails and New American cuisine. Kramarczuk’s Sausage Co. Inc. has some of the best Eastern European food in town, and Brasa Premium Rotisserie dishes up creole-spiced chicken and southerninspired sides. For an elevated dining experience, book a table at STEPCHLD or All Saints

Get to know the city with a Human On A Stick Segway tour. You’ll hear facts and quirky stories about Minneapolis’ history and receive a Segway license certificate at the end to commemorate your new skills and local knowledge.

TRAVEL THE CITY

Minneapolis provides plenty of affordable, widely accessible public transportation options, and the city is always striving to make advancements. The recently launched Shared Bike and Scooter Program includes Lime, Spin, and Veo as operators. Metro Transit reaches some of the area’s most popular destinations, including Mall of America and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, which are on the light rail routes (as are both downtowns). Fourteen of the most popular bus routes have such high frequencies, you don’t need a schedule to know when to ride them. For stops that do use schedules, check arrival times with displays, text-in features, and the Metro Transit app. The app and website can also help you plan your trip. Fares are $2 to $2.50 for 2.5 hours. In downtown zones, fares are 50¢. Purchase regular tickets at stations, online or on the app, and at Metro Transit Service Centers in both downtowns.

THE MINNEAPOLIS CONVENTION CENTER ENSURES

YOUR EVENT IS GREEN AND IMPACTFUL

Your Sustainable Meeting Space

As the largest convention center in the Upper Midwest, the Minneapolis Convention

WE’RE CERTIFIED GREEN

The MCC’s sustainability initiatives have earned us a Gold Level certification to the Events Industry Council Sustainable Events Standards. Our Urban Meadow Plaza was awarded Silver certification under the Sustainable SITES Initiative rating system for achievement in landscape sustainability. The Plaza is also the nation’s first SITES-certified project to be located at a convention center and the first-ever SITES certified project in the Upper Midwest. Previous sustainability recognition for the MCC also includes LEED v4 Certification for Existing Building Operations and Maintenance by the U.S. Green Building Council.

ADD GREEN TEAM TO YOUR EVENT

The MCC recently launched our Green Team initiative. This group of dedicated staff members work alongside our event operations team to assist your event by establishing and ensuring proper recycling and distribution efforts. This group effort incorporates previously established initiatives including front-and-back-ofhouse recycling operations and leftover food and products being donated to community partners, including People Serving People. Our staff has a history of collectively and creatively giving back to our community, and we are proud to offer this service to our clients. Our sustainability initiatives continue to expand as we look toward the future with our current and upcoming renovation projects. For more information on our green approach visit sustainability.minneapolisconventioncenter.com

WE HAVE THE SPACE

With a wide range of event spaces, you are certain to find the right place to host your next event. The MCC houses 87 meeting rooms, exhibit halls, and auditoriums across its four levels. On the first floor alone, the MCC’s auditorium can host over 3,400 attendees around a large stage or be divided into three separate 430-seat circular lecture halls. The MCC’s flexible 376,000-square-foot contiguous exhibit area divides into four large, distinct exhibit halls, too. In addition, there is a fifth 99,000-square-foot exhibit hall on the MCC’s lower level. The center’s 27,500-square-foot main level ballroom—which can be split into two rooms—is perfect for large galas and similar events. Located on the center’s second level, The Seasons rotunda is a beautiful space for banquets, VIP gatherings, or award ceremonies with lovely views of the city. It can accommodate up to 400 people banquet-style or 500 with reception seating. Alternatively, host an outdoor event on the MCC’s 37,600-square-foot Urban Meadow Plaza, which can accommodate groups as large as 3,900.
