Awards season mania ended with a bang (and a bit of a thud!) with the 89th Academy Awards. But the show must go on... Hollywood is starting to gear up for the big 9-0 next year. Of course, long before La La Land swept the Golden Globes and Moonlight shined at the Oscars, Los Angeles Confidential partnered with Hamilton watches to honor the year’s critically acclaimed films at our Behind the Camera Awards alongside Hollywood A-listers such as Denzel Washington, Dev Patel, Natalie Portman, John Legend, Mark Wahlberg, and Mel Gibson. And to prescient effect: We honored some of Oscar-night’s biggest winners long before they collected that golden statuette, including Moonlight director Barry Jenkins and actor Mahershala Ali, as well as La La Land composer Justin Hurwitz. Hamilton, SAG Awards, Golden Globes, and Oscars! We can hardly wait for next year’s round.
