To put on a puppet show, all you need are puppets. But a wayang kulit puppet show is different. The people watching the show never see the puppets. Instead, they see the puppets’ shadows moving across a big screen. How do puppeteers make wayang shows come to life? Find out by exploring light. Use what you learn to choose a material for your own wayang screen. Then it’s showtime!

In the Spotlight: Under a bridge in Austin, Texas, live more than 1 million bats! People gather nearby. But when will the bats fly out? Watch videos of the sky. Look for patterns in weather data. When can you observe the bats? Along the way, ask yourself, How does my new knowledge help me understand the world?
