How does the BIRD Foundation Operate? Any pair of companies, one Israeli and one U.S.based, may apply jointly so long as they can demonstrate the combined capabilities and infrastructure to define, develop, manufacture, sell and support an innovative product based on industrial R&D. The key criterion is that each corporate entity shall have the ability to carry out its part of the joint development. The BIRD Foundation offers conditional grants for joint development projects on a risk-sharing basis. The Foundation funds up to 50% of each company’s R&D expenses associated with the joint project, up to $1M per project. Hack for Global Good is an annual, student-driven summit at Rocky Hill Country Day School in East Greenwich that empowers students from across the state to find solutions for a United Nations Global Challenge.

Over the weekend of November 15-16, participants will collaborate with industry experts on the theme, “Solution2Pollution” before pitching their ideas to a panel of judges, with the ultimate purpose of discovering new and effective ways of overcoming existing hurdles. Keynote speakers Arnell Milhouse, Entrepreneur-in-Residence Brown University Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship, and Richard Vevers, Founder of The Ocean Agency, will provide additional insights.

The fun filled day will offer a variety of Homemade Christmas Cookies, Mini Breads, Homemade Pies, Homemade Fudge, Lemon Curd, Red Pepper Jelly and Candied Apples, Books for sale, Men’s and Women’s Clothing and Jewelry, Knitted and Crocheted Items, Handmade Christmas Centerpieces and Holiday Gifts. A delightful Christmas Tea will be served and there will be door prizes. St. Paul’s Faith Community is committed to live and practice our discipleship in Christ Jesus through our many and varied outreach programs as a congregation and community of caring individuals. Nearly every day of the week there are programs to enrich and enlighten members of our community at-large The proceeds from this event have supported the following: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Participation in the Soup’s On Program - Serving 50-65 meals per month. Community Meal Hosting – A community meal served every Thursday. Warm Up Wednesday – Serving hot coffee, tea and refreshments to the community. Annual Coat Drive – Last year 200 coats were given away. Rebuilding Together Emergency Fund – The largest volunteer network in our country to rehabilitate homes, provide an emergency fund for year-round critical repairs and energy efficient upgrades to low-income homes and residents in our community. 6. St. Paul’s hosts a variety of eleven Recovery programs weekly, six days a week.
