president’s message All great things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope, and freedom. Each of these words could not be attained without the realization of the last.

In 1776 we lit the fire of freedom and fought for our own country. Our own inner struggle began 150 years ago, where brother fought brother and we paid a heavy price.

We fought each other in order to make sure that those inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were truly endowed to all men.

The birthright of freedom that has been bestowed on us by our creator is fundamental and true. It is so simple a fact and so just a cause that we are a threat to all tyranny and to all dictators that seek to stifle the voice of freedom.

No matter what cost, no matter what price, no matter how big or how fierce the fight the voice will always fight to be heard.

To date we continue this fight around the world, because there is discrimination in this world, slavery, slaughter, and starvation. Those evils and the terrorists that use them, seek to bring them to our shores. That battle they will not win.

Across the globe the world still turns its tired yet hopeful eyes toward our horizon.

In the distance that light still burns bright beckoning those yearning to be free, the mantle of freedom still rests here and we still pay a heavy price.

On Independence Day, the fourth of July, we celebrate the birth of the greatest nation in the world. We have parades, we cook out, we have firework displays and we enjoy the greatest of patriotic days. We must remember how God has blessed America. In our Independence Day celebration, we should thank God for all His Blessings that He provided so abundantly for us. As we get together this holiday let us remember those who have fought to preserve our right to freedom and remember the scarifies they have made on our behalf.

Director Nominations

For Term January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2022 The Nominations Committee has submitted the following list of candidates for the MSI Chamber’s Board of Directors. The newly elected directors will take office January 1, 2020 and serve a three-year term. Additional nominations from chamber members in good standing will be accepted in writing at the chamber office until the end of the July 22, 2019 business day. Additional nominations by board members will be received from the floor at the Board of Director’s meeting on June 26, 2019. In the event additional nominations are received, a ballot will be mailed to each member in good standing within 10 days of the board meeting. The ballot shall designate the nominees recommended by the Board and Nominating Committee and shall designate additional nominees and the name of the person nominating such additional nominee or nominees. Ballots must be returned within 10 days of the date of the mailing for the ballots to be counted. In the event there are no additional nominees, the slate of candidates proposed by the nominating committee shall be deemed elected by acclamation of the membership without further action. Directors whose term ends December 31, 2019 are Dennis Cowardin, Myron Gough, Suzanne Meyer, Mark Needham, Chris Steiner, Kevin Donaldson, and Steve Midkiff.
