embership in the chamber is much more than a plaque on the wall, the fulfillment of a sense of civil obligation, or the means to generate new business. County Chamber of Commerce ~
Entering my first full month in the position of President and CEO comes with a great deal of excitement and is highlighted by a feeling of admiration.
Prior to taking on this role, I have been a Chamber member for well over 20 years. In that time, I was inspired by the great work the Chamber has done and continues to do in our community. However, as I now get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to accomplish those goals, I am in awe with admiration. It is admiration for the leaders who preceded me in this role, the volunteers, Ambassadors, members, and most notably, the mighty staff that works within the Chamber walls.
I am coming in as Concerts in the Park are well underway; Lemonade Day is being ramped up and will impact hundreds of young entrepreneurs in our community; the Young Professionals Network (YPN) is active and engaging; The Chamber Ambassadors continue to shine the spotlight on local businesses; the Greeters networking meeting attendance is healthy- providing opportunities for businesses to network with some of the best in our community; our Visitor Center is entering peak tourist season and our communication channels continue to reach thousands of people. All of this work is accomplished with a staff of three incredible people and two independent contractors.
I am grateful for past CEOs Dwight Ellis, Jon Jordan, Coleen Martin, and of course, Josie Molloy, who built a solid foundation. Most importantly, I am in absolute admiration and look forward to building on that foundation with Christie Swafford, Brittni Biller, Shirley Liska, Cat Bonney, and Karen Henningsen—a truly incredible team!
I’m confident in our solid foundation and I’m anxious to meet with you as our path forward unfolds. Terry Hopkins President & CEO, Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce

NorthWest Family Practice is dedicated to working with you to meet the comprehensive health care needs of you, and your family. Our goal is to provide outstanding care to the residents of Josephine County, and the surrounding areas.
Angela and her family moved to southern Oregon from Michigan in 2022. She graduated from Chamberlain University with a Masters degree in nursing. Angela has worked in a variety of care setting including home care, skilled nursing rehabilitation, dementia care, biologic therapies, and the medical surgical care setting. She is excited to learn and grow in her practice with the local community.
Angela and her family enjoy doing outdoor activities and are looking forward to exploring all that the beautiful Southern Oregon has to offer.
At Home Health and Wellness was created and started in early 2023 with the goal of providing outstanding, personalized, well crafted, home physical therapy services to people residing in the Grants Pass area.
Owner, Lori Nissen has nearly 25 years of experience as a physical therapist assistant and is passionate about providing the best service available to assist people with restoring, improving or exceeding their health and fitness goals. She is skilled at a multitude of medical diagnoses including orthopedic and neurological changes that require physical therapy intervention.
With Lori each client is treated as an individual, has a customized plan and is an active participant in setting personal goals that are import-
ant for them to achieve during the home therapy course. Lori believes in creating an atmosphere of success and believes that each person is capable of achieving their desired outcomes with her expertise and guidance.
Believing that proper nutrition is vital to maintaining optimal health, Lori also provides her clients with menu planning or meal preparation if needed. Meal preparation may be part of a therapy session.
For example if a person is recovering from a hip replacement, a combined service of therapy and meal preparation can be provided to work on standing endurance and safe movement patterns in the kitchen. Ultimately, balance of mind, body and spirit creates wholeness and peace in our lives.
We support and promote our local commerce through communication, advocacy and partnerships!
Thanks to the community and Asante Foundation, I received cancer care at Asante’s Helen K. Spears Cancer Center and could rest my head at The Family House when I traveled from Brookings for treatment.

These four businesses applied for the 2024 Downtown Parklet Grant and all were approved to have parklets. All of the parklets are ADA Accessible, have an art element that represents Grants Pass and/or Josephine County. The parklets at these locations are providing space where people can enjoy alfresco dining at their favorite local eateries.
The City wanted to support our restaurants in the Central Business District by providing up to $4,000 to vitalize the downtown core by generating activity and making a space for locals and visitors to enjoy. This is a successful one time program ( ARPA Funds) that has taken most of the upfront start up costs for the restaurants to construct these Parklets.
Any restaurants that missed the grant opportunity can still reach out to Community Development and utilize the City Sidewalk Cafe/Parklet Permit process to install a parklet for their location. (541)450-6060.

GRANTS PASS – Like many across our country, we are grateful to know the Supreme Court’s opinion in our case, and we’re thankful that the Court’s ruling will help guide our next steps regarding unhoused members of our community.
Once our legal counsel has thoroughly reviewed the SCOTUS opinion reversing the Ninth Circuit’s ruling and remanding it for further discussion, the City Council will receive a briefing and discuss our options for moving forward.
While it is too soon to know specifically what steps we may take, we are committed to assisting residents struggling to find stable housing, and we will continue working to make Grants Pass a safe and welcoming community for all.
The Young Professionals Network is for young professionals in the target age range of 18-45 who are looking for networking opportunities with other young professionals, connections to the community and business leaders, community engagement, and professional development. The network holds monthly luncheons, quarterly socials, and community service projects.

Our Young Professionals always look forward to June because that is when we do our annual Volunteer Project at Raptor Creek Farm with the Josephine County Food Bank. We were very fortunate to hear from Executive Director, Josephine Sze who did a great job of outlining the many programs and services provided locally and the impact the Food Bank has for those experiencing food insecurity in our county. Outreach Coordinator, Patrice Hanlon did a great job guiding our group in building food boxes and sorting goods. Farm Manager, Kristin Smith gave a knowledgeable tour of the greenhouses and garden. Such a rewarding and fun experience.
Thanks to Si Casa for generously feeding our group and Weekend Beer Company for treating everyone to some cold & refreshing beverages! We are so thankful for the continued partnerships and relationships created within our community!
Next up will be a Panel Discussion on Cash Flow Success in July at the Hivve. For event information and registration, please visit our Community Calendar at www.grantspasschamber.org.
