We provide many opportunities to you, your Family and friends to discover the wonders of living in Europe. As an ID card holder you can travel with us and invite guests as long as they are registered on the access roster of both Rose Barracks and Grafenwoehr at least 72 hours prior to the trip. The majority of our trips include a walking city tour for a time varying from 1.5 to 2.5 hours, it is advised to wear comfortable shoes. Please ask for details before booking the trip. Let us know in advance if a member of your party has special needs. We will be glad to assist in any way possible to make your experience wonderful and as smooth as possible. Our staff will be happy to answer your questions about trips and provide you with detailed itineraries. Please Note that Leisure Travel Services trip assistants are required to ask for your passport before boarding the bus, as per European law in case of police check. - Keep receipts of your purchases abroad for Customs officers checking. - Keep some cash with you at all times as ATM machines are not available everywhere in Europe. Day Trip Refund Policy - Cancellation up to three working days prior to trip: 100 % refund - Cancellation two working days prior to trip: 50 % refund - Cancellation one working day prior to, or day of trip: No refund Overnight Refund Policy -A deposit of $100 per child and/or $150 per adult is required upon enrollment. -30 days prior to the trip’s departure date: A minimum of 50% of the trip cost is required. Deposit is not refundable due to contractual obligations with the hotels and other agencies. - 14 days prior to the trip’s departure date: Remaining balance of the trip cost is required. -Cancellation up to 31 days prior to the trip’s departure date: A full refund will be received unless otherwise indicated. -Cancellation from 30 days to the trip’s departure date: The amount refunded depends on the specific hotel’s cancellation policy. The administration fee of $150 deposit per adult will not be refunded, unless the cancellation reason is supported by documentation that is signed by a commanding officer or physician. At this point, customers will only receive refunds if their balance paid exceeds the obligation to our contractors. Only the fees paid exceeding our costs will be refunded. -Soldiers should try to have leave forms approved prior to the cancellation date. This is one month prior to the trip’s departure date. - If staff cancels the trip, all customers providing their original registration receipt will receive a full refund. - LTS reserves the right to forfeit any reservation that does not pay the balances due, at the specified times prior to the trip’s departure date, as stated above. Rentals -Rentals (ski equipment, canopies, barbecues, tents…) must be paid in full by time of pick-up. - A late fee will be charged if the item is returned late and without notice at the following rate:1 day late: 1 day fee, 2 days late: 1 weekend fee, 3 days late or more: 1 week’s fee minimum.

Berlin

Berlin has weathered through turmoil and prosperity; both which have left their visible marks. The trip includes a few hours of free time to sightsee, transportation to Berlin and a 3-hour bus tour of some of the significant historical sites of the city: the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall memorial site and Checkpoint Charlie. Black Forest May 25

The Black Forest is renowned for the famous hand carved Cuckoo Clocks that originated here. We will be visiting the city of Triberg. Here you can see the largest waterfall in Germany, visit a museum and shop for the cuckoo or grandfather clock of your choice. You may also just want to roam around and absorb the beautiful country side. Bring your VAT form if you are planning to buy a cuckoo clock. Chiemsee Castle

Dachau/Munich National Museum April 21, May 12, July 14

Tour the historic Dachau Concentration Camp memorial site. The main camp was comprised of the actual prisoners’ camp, the SS area and various subsidiary camps. The subsidiary camps consisted of the so-called plantation, the shooting range at Hebertshausen and the burial grounds for the concentration camp prisoners. After visiting the concentration camp, we continue on to Munich. We drop you off at the Munich National Museum, the largest technological museum in the world. Eagle’s Nest and Salt Mines July 27

The Eagle’s Nest is the famous retreat of Hitler. It is a lovely chateau located at the crest of a mountain in the Bavarian Alps. Our bus must park at the base of the mountain and we take the local bus up to the elevator to the Eagle’s Nest. The local bus cost is around 16 Euro per person. After departing the Eagle’s Nest we travel to the salt mines located on the Austrian border. Tourists will be issued traditional salt worker uniforms and taken into the tunnels. The cost of the salt mines tour is an additional 16 Euro per adult and 10 Euro per child. All entry fees are not included in price and are approximate. Europa Park is broken down into rides from various European countries. It has both an adventure land as well as a water park. The rides in each region stay true to the culture of that country while offering a bit of whimsy. Kaltenberg Medieval Festival July 14, 21 & 28

This annual festival offers a day of fun and excitement for the entire family. Throughout the fest grounds actors will demonstrate periodic skills and shows to enchant the crowd. Various tradesmen are selling merchandises of the time period. Great food is available for purchase throughout the festival. Donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t miss the grand parade which culminates at 1 p.m. each day, with the joust performance to top off the adventure! Munich Zoo June 9

Passau June 23

We leave for Regensburg in the morning and on our boat ride down to Passau there will be various unforgettable sights that leave an impression. You will see the entrance to the Danube Canal, which was opened in 1992. From the Danube River you have a beautiful view to the “Wallhalla”, the Woerth Castle, the Gäubodenstadt Straubing, and much more. It takes about 20 minutes to get down to the lower water level and the ship can move out of the locks. Enjoy this small journey and admire the beautiful views down the Danube River. Keukenhof, Holland’s worldfamous tulip park, is located about 45 minutes from Amsterdam. Summer Adventure Activities

Canoeing Day Trips July 27, September 7

See the local wildlife, vegetation and terrain features as you float silently by on the current of the Pegnitz River. Previous paddling experience is required. Don’t have any experience? Check out our Thursday evening paddling activities for needed experience. Price: $35. Caving Day Trips May 18, July 13

A tour of this cave begins with rappelling into the mouth of the cave. We use climbing gear to negotiate the ups and downs of this cave system. This cave is one of the largest underground cave systems in our area. Price: $35. Depart Grafenwoehr Burger King at 9 a.m. and Rose Barracks ODR at 9:30 a.m. Estimated time of return is 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Hiking day trip to the “Doggerwerk” August 3

See the massive entry doors to the former Nazi underground airplane manufacturing plant. Enjoy a view of the Happurger Lake from a vantage point high on the cliffs surrounding the lake. Klettersteig Day Trips May 11, June 22, August 24

A Klettersteig is similar to rock climbing because it uses much of the same safety equipment. However, rather than climbing up the rock face, you traverse the face on an established route. No prior climbing experience is necessary. Price: $35. Depart Grafenwoehr Burger King at 9 a.m. and Rose Barracks ODR at 9 a.m. Estimated time of return is 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Mountain Bike Mondays Every Monday evening

Travel to one of more than 20 different trail heads. Rides vary in length from 15 km to 35 km depending on location and abilities of riders. Prior Mountain Bike experience is recommended. Price for ride: $7 if rider has his/her own bike, $12 if ODR bike is utilized. Depart Rose Barracks ODR at 6 p.m. and return at approximately 9 p.m.

Thursday Evening Paddling and Rock Climbing Every Thursday evening

Reserve your Thursday evenings for rock climbing and/or canoe/kayak paddling. Activities will be conducted on alternating Thursdays throughout the summer. For rock climbing you must possess a belay certification card. Belay Certification Classes will be offered by ODR as well. Class dates TBD. Price for Paddling/Climbing: $12. Skydiving Day Trips

Want to experience free falling from 14,000 feet? We will take you to a proven and experienced sky diving company for a tandem jump complete with a video of your experience. USAG Grafenwoehr has one hunting area set aside exclusively for U.S hunters.

Access to this hunting area is gained by special permit only. These permits are issued via lottery. In early spring, interested hunters submit their applications to vie for a permit. From these applications 10 names are drawn for permits.The permit cost is â&#x201A;Ź325 and will be valid from May 1 until January 31. The on-post area is an individual driven program where the maintenance, upkeep, feeding and tracking of the seat rotation is all handled by the permit holders with guidance from the HFS program manager. To enter the Lottery you must be in possession of a valid hunting license on the day of the drawing and assigned to USAG Grafenwoehr. If your name is one of the first ten drawn, you will have five working days to pay the fee or the next person drawn will receive your slot. The lottery will start April 1 and end on April 19.

The HFS program - IMCOM states that participation in the Hunting Fishing & Sport Shooting Program in any capacity requires you to become a member of your local HFS Club, or be a member from another community in Germany. Membership must be placed before any other purchases can take place. Eagle’s Nest and Berchtesgaden August 3

Visit this popular site that is a chalet-style structure on a sub peak of the Hoher Göll, known as the Kehlstein. It was built as an extension of the Obersalzberg Complex erected in the mountains above Berchtesgaden. The Kehlsteinhaus was intended as a 50th birthday present for Adolf Hitler to serve as a retreat and a place for him to entertain visiting dignitaries. Kloster Kreuzberg Monastery August 10

The Kreuzberg is one of the Rhön Mountains. The Kreuzberg Monastery, which is situated just below the summit of the mountain, is one of the main attractions. There are frequent pilgrimages to the monastery church. The monastery is also famous for its beer, which was brewed on site by the monks until about 1992. Today the beer is brewed by laypersons under the supervision of the monks. The Falkenhütte, Austria’s Best Kept Secret

The Falkenhütte is beautifully perched at 1900 meters in the heart of the Karwendel Mountains near the Eng Valley. In summer the myriad of cows on the Alpine pasture are what characterize the landscape. The forest trail we will take ends at the Falkenhütte. Good home cooking and overnight accommodations are available. Return is via the same route.

The Kletterwald, High Ropes Course

This activity builds confidence, teamwork, coordination and problem solving skills. The instructor will show you the basics of the equipment and safety and climbing skills. After that you can complete the six different loops from easy to challenging at your own pace. This is a half day activity. Please wear sturdy shoes. This area is outdoors and opens rain or shine. The Most Awesome Hike Ever: AlpsPitz to the Hoellental Gorge

We ride up the Alpspitz Cable car and visit the super scary “AlpspiX” observation platform and look down 3000 ft. into the valley below our feet! Then we hike down into the Hoellental valley and through the most amazing gorge in Garmisch. Rating: Moderate, 6-8 hrs. hike, 1100 m elevation. Price: $39 per person, $35 for groups of 20 or more. The Schachen, King Ludwig’s “Other Castle” August 24-25

This mountain getaway is the Schachen Hunting Lodge, high in the Wetterstein Mountains. This is a spectacular hike to take. You will be astonished when you reach the Lodge. We will take the tour of the retreat and hike down through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Rating: Moderate to advanced, 10 Kilometers, 866m climb. Be sure to bring Euros for personal expenses, trail snacks, a rain jacket, outdoor clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, and a backpack. Email us for a complete list. Did you know that there’s a beach in Munich? We rent the entire place, wakeboards, kneeboards, wetsuits, guides and everything for 3 hours. Please be sure to bring your swimsuit and towel. Also bring a lunch and snacks or Euros to purchase them. Price: One flat fee of $800. Price includes transportation, equipment and 3 full hours of unlimited pulls and fun! Kean’s Lodge Group Lodging

Sitting above the Artillery Kaserne on the Kramer Mountain, the Kean’s Lodge is a rustic bunkhouse with extensive grounds. The Lodge is heated and has a large common room with a fireplace for 50 people to sit together. The sleeping arrangement is a “bunk house” style room with three-tiered mattress rows, much like the “Lagerbetts” found in alpine huts with bed spaces for 54 persons. The Kean’s Lodge is equipped with a large kitchen including a commercial grade stove, large refrigerators and a serve-through counter. Outside you will find a spacious terrace with charcoal grills, a bonfire fire pit and grounds for outside games. Rental fee: $13 per person, per night, (min. 10 persons or $130).

White Water Rafting & Klettersteig Weekend August 17-18

Join us for a white water rafting and klettersteig adventure in the beautiful Tirol Region of Austria! Day one starts with a four hour river experience on the Inn River. This section of the Inn River is considered “class three” with large waves and rapids and also calm areas where swimming is encouraged. Join the Klettersteig climb up to the largest waterfall in Tirol. Overnight stay will be in “Pension style” accommodations. Participants must be in good overall shape, must be able to swim and must be at least 14 years of age to participate.
