SEA TAKES, SEA BRINGS DAS MEER NIMMT, DAS MEER GIBT 6.6.-20.10.2019 The exhibition, curated by art historian Tuija Peltomaa, presents works on the sea from the 1850s to the 1950s. The exhibition has been organised in collaboration with the Association of Finnish Fine Arts Foundations.

Diese Ausstellung, zusammengestellt von der Kunsthistorikerin Tuija Peltomaa, präsentiert Arbeiten mit dem Thema Meer von 1850 bis zu den fünfziger Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Die Ausstellung wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Verband der Stiftungen für finnische Kunst organisiert.

PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS – STÄNDIGE AUSSTELLUNGEN

TERRANOVA The Ostrobothnian Museum’s Natural Science Exhibition presents the nature of the Kvarken and Vaasa region from the ice age to the present day.

Die wissenschaftliche Naturausstellung des Ostrobothnischen Museums zeigt die Natur der Meerenge Kvarken und der Region um die Stadt Vasa herum von der Eiszeit bis heute.

THE HEDMAN FLOOR – HEDMAN-ETAGE The valuable and nationally important collection of Vaasa doctor Karl Hedman (1864-1931) includes Finnish and foreign art, as well as jewellery and antiques.

Die wertvolle und national bedeutende Sammlung des Vaasaer Arztes Karl Hedman (1864-1931) beinhaltet finnische und ausländische Kunst sowie Schmuck und Antiquitäten.

VAASA 400 The exhibition leads the visitor through the 400-year history of the City of Vaasa. The exhibition tells about the conditions and events that have shaped the society, governance, education, people’s livelihoods and everyday life and celebration.

Diese Ausstellung führt den Besucher durch die 400-jährige Geschichte der Stadt Vaasa. Die Ausstellung erzählt von den Konditionen und Ereignissen, die die Gesellschaft, die politische Führung, das Bildungssystem, den Lebensunterhalt der Bürger, die Formen des Alltags und die Feste geformt haben.

SILVER ROOM, COIN ROOM AND MEMORIAL HALL SILBERRAUM, MÜNZENRAUM UND GEDENKHALLE The museum permanently showcases items from the museum’s special collections, such as silver and coin collections. The museum’s memorial hall serves as an historical monument to events during the period when Finland became independent.

Das Museum stellt in seinen Vitrinen permanent Stücke aus den speziellen Sammlungen des Museums aus, z.B. aus der Silber- und Münzsammlung.

Die Gedenkhalle des Museums dient als historisches Monument der Ereignisse der Zeit als Finnland unabhängig wurde.

ODYSSEY – A JOURNEY IN ART

The intimate works of the exhibition invite the viewer to hone their senses and surrender to the presence of different spaces and situations. Besides sound installations, Kuntsi also features video works, photographs and photograms. The works are combined with the idea of interaction, in the sense that we live in an intertwined environment - a whole that shapes us just as we ourselves influence everything around us.

Die intimen Arbeiten dieser Ausstellung laden den Betrachter dazu ein, seine Sinne zu schärfen und sich einzustellen auf die Gegenwart von unterschiedlichen Räumen und Situationen. Neben den Klanginstallationen zeichnet sich Kuntsi auch durch Videoinstallationen, Fotos und Fotogramme aus. Die Arbeiten basieren auf der Idee der Interaktion, in dem Sinne, dass wir in einem verflochtenen Umfeld leben – ein Ganzes, das uns formt – genauso wie auch wir selbst alles um uns herum beeinflussen.

ODYSSEE – EINE REISE DURCH DIE KUNST 2.2.2019–2.2.2020

The exhibition, compiled from the Swanljung collection, reflects the collector’s journey in art. The exhibition features American, Nordic and Finnish works of art. The exhibition celebrates the donation of the collection to the City of Vaasa.

Die Ausstellung, zusammengestellt aus der Swanljung-Sammlung, spiegelt die Reise des Sammlers durch die Kunst wider. Die Sammlung zeigt Exponate des amerikanischen, nordischen und finnischen Raumes. Die Ausstellung feiert die Donation dieser Sammlung an die Stadt Vaasa.

THE ABC OF ART – WORKS FROM THE COLLECTION OF FRITHJOF TIKANOJA

OLD SILVER TALES ALTE SILBERGESCHICHTEN 10.5.-8.9.2019

DAS ALPHABET DER KUNST – ARBEITEN AUS DER FRITHJOF TIKANOJA – SAMMLUNG 15.3.-8.9.2019 The first floor of the Tikanoja Art Museum presents the most loved works collected by Frithjof Tikanoja. The exhibition contains functional elements and is especially aimed at children, although it is also suitable for people of all ages who are interested in art.

In collaboration with the Hiekka Art Museum in Tampere, this joint exhibition presents the production of domestic and foreign silversmiths from the 17th century until the 20th century. The objects of the exhibition are from the City of Vaasa museum collections and the Art Museum of Hiekka.

Die erste Etage des Tikanoja Kunsthauses zeigt die meist geliebten Arbeiten, die von Frithjof Tikanoja gesammelt wurden. Diese Ausstellung beinhaltet funktionale Elemente und wurde speziell für Kinder konzipiert, eignet sich jedoch für Kunstintressierte aller Altersgruppen.

Zusammen mit dem Hiekka Kunstmuseum in Tampere zeigt diese gemeinsame Ausstellung die Produktion von heimatlichen und ausländischen Silberschmieden vom 17. bis zum 20. Jahrhundert. Die Exponate dieser Ausstellung stammen aus den Sammlumgen der Museen der Stadt Vaasa und aus dem Kunstmuseum von Hiekka.

YHTEYS–KONTAKT 1.6.-18.8.2019

MARKKU HAANPÄÄ & AAMU TIKKANEN 24.8.-29.9.2019

This exhibition concludes a three-year project called “Yhteys–Kontakt” (Contact), which involved Vaasa Printmakers and the Östersund Collective Printmakers’ Studio from Sweden. The exhibition features traditional graphics, moving images, sculptures and installations made using different techniques. The curator of the exhibition is the regional graphic artist, Annika Dahlsten.

Diese Ausstellung beinhaltet ein dreijähriges Projekt mit dem Namen ”Yhteys – Kontakt”, das die Grafiker in Vaasa und das Kollektive Grafiker-Studio Östersund in Schweden umfasste. Die Ausstellung zeigt tradiotionelle Grafiken, bewegte Bilder, Skulpturen sowie Installationen, die mit verschieden Techniken geschaffen wurden. Der Kurator der Ausstellung ist die regionale Grafikkünstlerin Annika Dahlsten.

In the joint exhibition of Markku Haanpää and Aamu Tikkanen, earth and stone meet both as materials and as an inspiration for paintings through, among other things, stone ruins from antiquities.

In der gemeinsamen Ausstellung von Markku Haanpää und Aamu Tikkanen treffen sich Erde und Stein sowohl als Material, wie auch als Inspiration zu Gemälden durch, unter anderem, die Steinstrukturen der Uraltertümer.

The Museum of Old Vaasa is located in the Wasastjerna House, in the Old Vaasa district. In the museum you can explore the history of Vaasa before the fire of 1852, which destroyed most of the City of Vaasa at that time. The museum is open in summer.

The museum has a small selection of cards, museum-related products and books on history for sale. On the ground floor there is a café in the Falander Cellar, where you can enjoy coffee, tea and refreshments.

Das Museum von Alt-Vaasa befindet sich im Wasastjerna Haus im Stadtteil Alt-Vaasa. In diesem Museum können Sie die Geschichte von Vaasa vor dem Brand von 1852, der den grössten Teil der damaligen Stadt Vaasa zerstört hat, entdecken. Das Museum ist während der Sommersaison geöffnet.

Das Museum bietet eine kleinere Auswahl an Karten, museumsbezogenen Produkten und Geschichtsbüchern an. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich ein Café im Fallander- Keller, wo Sie Kaffee, Tee und andere Erfrischungen geniessen können.

At Café Nova in the Ostrobothnian Museum, you can enjoy coffee, tea and refreshments as well as small snacks.

There are regular guided tours in the museums. You can also order guided tours for groups.

Groups have the opportunity to order catering separately. The café is open during the opening hours of the museum.

Cafe Kuntsi is open at the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art on Saturdays and Sundays from 1117. The cafe is open on other days for groups.

There is free access to cafes without a museum ticket.

Im Café Nova im Ostrobothnischen Museum können sie Kaffee, Tee, diverse Erfrischungen sowie kleinere Mahlzeiten geniessen.

Gruppen haben die Möglichkeit separates Catering zu bestellen. Das Café ist während der Museumsöffnungszeiten geöffnet.

Cafe Kuntsi im Kuntsi Museum für moderne Kunst ist samstags und sonntags von 11.00-17.00 Uhr geöffnet. Für Gruppen ist das Café auch an anderen Tagen geöffnet.

Zu den Cafés haben Sie auch ohne Eintrittskarte für das Museum freien Zugang.

Es finden regelmässige Führungen in den Museen statt. Für Gruppen können Sie ausserdem Führungen bestellen.
