AT THE LAST COUNCIL MEETING
WHALE WATCHING @ COPACABANA
Council will invest around $360,000 to replace key infrastructure at the Woy Woy Sewage Treatment Plant. Four existing aerators will be replaced to improve the plant’s performance and ensure the community’s sewage continues to be treated effectively.
Welcome in this year’s whale watching season at our free whale watching talks this Saturday 4 July at Captain Cook Lookout, Copacabana. With guided spotting, you can learn all about these majestic creatures and their annual migrations. There will be two information talks by local naturalist Jeannie Lawson, starting at 11am and then again at 12noon. Bookings are not required.
AT THE LAST COUNCIL MEETING
Council will acquire land in the Somersby Industrial Estate to build a new sewage pump station, install a new sewage pipeline and complete other sewer upgrade works. Following a recent submission to the National Stronger Regions Fund, council was successful in securing $10 million in funding for infrastructure improvements within the Somersby Industrial Estate.
