Franchise Dünyası dergimizin yeni sayısında sizlerle buluşmanın gururunu taşıyoruz. Franchise sektöründeki en yeni gelişmeler ve haberler ile bir kez daha karşısındayız. 15-18 Ekim 2015 tarihleri arasında CNR Expo Center’ da düzenleyeceğimiz 24. Uluslararası Franchising Fuarı bu sene de büyük başarılara imza atacak. Fuarımız bu yıl Başkan Yardımcılığı görevini yürüttüğüm Avrupa Franchise Federasyonu- EFF’nin Yönetim Kurulu Toplantısına ve Avrupa’nın önde gelen Franchise markalarını bir araya getirecek olan Deneyim Paylaşım Toplantısına İstanbul’da ev sahipliği edecek. Uluslararası platformlarda da etkin olarak faaliyet gösteren derneğimiz Dünya Franchise Konseyi ve Avrupa Franchise Federasyonu toplantılarında Türkiye’nin ekonomik gücünü ve markalarımızın global başarılarını tüm dünya Franchise dernekleri ile paylaştı. 2017 yılında Dünya Franchise Konseyi toplantısına ev sahipliği yapacak ve WFC Başkanlığını tekrar İstanbul’a taşıyacak olmamızın büyük gururunu sizlerle paylaşmak isteriz. Kararlılık ve heyecanla devam ettirdiğimiz çalışmalarımıza, aynı hızda devam edecek ve daha birçok başarılı projelerle karşınıza çıkacağız. Ülkemizin ve Franchise sistemi içinde faaliyet gösteren tüm firmaların başarılı ve verimli yarınlara doğru yol alması hedefiyle sürdürdüğümüz yoğun çalışmalarımız süresince sizleri aramızda görmek ve başarılarımızı sizlerle paylaşmak en büyük ödülümüzdür. Gelecek sayımızda tekrar görüşmek üzere sağlık ve mutluluk dileklerimi sunarım…

We are pleased to be back with the new issue of Franchise World Magazine. Once again, we have the latest news and developments of franchising sector.

24th Annual International Franchising Exhibition, which will be held at CNR Expo Center on October 15-18, 2015, will bring success to the sector. The exhibition will host Europe Franchise Federation’s Board meeting where I serve as Vice President. The exhibition will also host Experience Sharing Meeting, which brings Europe’s leading franchising brand names together.

Our association, which works actively in international platforms, shared Turkey’s economic power and our brands’ global success with franchises worldwide during World Franchise Council and Europe Franchise Federation. We’d like to share our pride to host World Franchise Council meeting in 2017 and to bring WFC’s presidency to İstanbul again.

We will continue our endeavor with determination and excitement and will bring more success. It is our biggest award to share our success with you and to see you along with us in the process of our hard work to bring success and productivity to our country and to businesses in franchising system. Yönetim Kurulu Üyeleri Yuvarlak Masa Toplantısı öncesinde UFRAD Franchising Derneği’ne üye olmak isteyen adayları değerlendirdi. Özellikle üye alımlarında çok fazla titiz davrandığı halde UFRAD’ın şuanda mevcut üye sayısı 203’dür. UFRAD Genel Başkanı Sayın Dr. Mustafa Aydın aday üyeleri değerlendirirken mevcut durumları ve kendi firmalarına göstermiş oldukları özveri ile yakından ilgilenmektedir.

UFRAD’ı sadece bir dernek olmaktan çıkaran düşüncenin de aslında tam olarak bu olduğunu savunan Dr. Mustafa Aydın; her toplantı sonunda UFRAD’ın bu denli başarılı olmasında öncelikli olarak UFRAD Yönetim Kurulu Üyeleri ve daha sonra da tüm üyelerin başarısının olduğunu dile getirmektedir. Yönetim Kurulunun ardından geçilen UFRAD Yuvarlak Masa Toplantısı’nın gündeminde Franchising Eğitimde Yeni Trendler görüşüldü. Seminerde başarılı bir sunum hazırlayan Sayın İlkay Öztürk Bey, Franchising sisteminde nelere dikkat edilmesi gerektiği, nere-

to the roundtable meeting, UFRAD Franchising Association Board Members evaluated the applications of the new candidates.

Although UFRAD has a rigorous candidate selection process for new members, currently there are 203 existing members. UFRAD’s esteemed President Dr. Mustafa Aydın pays a particular attention to the good standing of the companies and the devotion that is involved when evaluating candidate applications.

Dr. Mustafa Aydın maintains that it is this fact which separates UFRAD from being an association only; at the end of each meeting he continually states that the success of UFRAD is primarily due to its Board Members and to all the members as well. After the board meeting UFRAD roundtable meeting was held. The subject under discussion was ‘New trends in Franchise Education.’

Mr. İlkay Öztürk gave a successful presentation on what

Konuşmasına önce UFRAD’ın önemli haberlerini üyelerine duyurarak başlayan Dr. Mustafa Aydın, ev sahipliğini yapacağı 2017 Avrupa Franchise Federasyonu’nun müjdesini verdi. UFRAD Markalarının çok güçlü olduğunu ve bu gücün öncelikle kendi isimlerine, ardından Türkiye’ye büyük katkı sağladığını dile getirdi.

Dışarıdaki pazarda bu denli tehlike arz eden durum varken emin adımlarla adını tüm dünyaya duyurmayı başaran isimler ile bir arada olmaktan ve büyümekten gurur duyduğunu belirten Dr. Mustafa Aydın, her zaman en iyiye gitmenin tek amaç olduğunu bir kez daha vurguladı.

Following İlkay Öztürk’s presentation, UFRAD President Dr. Mustafa Aydın thanked the members of the board who never missed any UFRAD activity and all the members who wish to move forward in a positive manner. Prior to this, he announced an important news to UFRAD members of hosting European Franchise Federation in 2017 Turkey. UFRAD brands are very strong and this strength is first good for their own companies while at the same time they make a huge contribution to the Turkish economy.

“I am proud to be with the company of those, who even when global markets were so volatile have made their brand and their name known to the whole world.” Dr. Mustafa Aydın emphasized the aim of moving forward at all times. Haziran ayında gerçekleşecek Genel Kurul, Avrupa’da yeni yürürlüğe girmesi planlanan Rekabet Kanunu kapsamında EFF çalışmaları, Avrupa Franchise sektöründeki sorunlar ve çözüm önerilerinin değerlendirildiği toplantıda konuşan Dr. Aydın Ekim ayında EFF Yönetim Kurulu ve Deneyim Paylaşım toplantısını İstanbul’da UFRAD ev sahipliğinde yapacak olmaktan büyük mutluluk duyduklarını ifade etti. EFF’nin her geçen daha fazla üye edinerek büyümesinden ve çalışmalarını franchise sektörünün gelişimi yönünde artırmasından memnuniyet duyduklarını belirten Dr. Aydın Türkiye’nin AB ülkelerine gelişen franchise pazarı ile örnek teşkil ettiğini ifade etti.

French Franchising Association hosted the European Franchise FederationEFF’s board meeting in Paris. UFRAD President and EFF Vice President Dr. Mustafa Aydın attended the meeting. During the meeting, new laws in competitive monopolies along with problems and solutions pertaining to European Franchising were discussed. At that meeting, Dr. Aydın stated that he was extremely pleased that UFRAD would be hosting the EFF Board and Directors Experience Sharing meeting in İstanbul.

Dr. Aydın said that he was happy to see an increase in EFF’s growing membership and works in the franchise sector with each passing year. Turkey sets an example, in the franchise sector, to the European Community countries.

Toplantıda kısa bir konuşma yaparak UFRAD ve dernek olarak yaptıkları çalışmalar hakkında bilgi veren Genel Başkan Dr. Aydın, IFA yetkililerinin sorularını da cevapladı. Dünyanın en büyük ve aktif derneklerinden biri olan IFA’nın Amerikan ekonomik platformundaki yerini bizzat yakından görme fırsatı bulan Dr. Aydın, gözlemledikleri iyi uygulamaları ülkemizde de hayata geçireceklerini ifade etti.

During the meeting president Dr. Aydın delivered a short speech about UFRAD and the works it is carrying out and answered various questions asked by IFA authorities. IFA is one of the largest and most active associations in the world. Dr Aydın had the opportunity of viewing the works of the American Economic Platform closely. He stated that he intended to ensure those positive processes seen were implemented in our own country.

Dünya Fikri Mülkiyet Teşkilatı ve Uluslararası Buluşçular Federasyonu’nca desteklenen 8. Güney Kore Uluslararası Buluş Fuarı’ndan birincilikle döndük.15-18 Mayıs tarihleri arasında gerçekleşen ve 30 ülkeden 400’e yakın buluşun katıldığı fuarda, özellikle sağlık alanında çok önemli buluşlar sergilendi. Güney Kore’nin katılımcı sayısıyla öne çıktığı fuarda bizler pişirme sistemimizle ülkemizi temsil ettik. İlkel usulde pişen teneke kebabı her ne kadar uluslararası arenada bilinmese de, bizler tasarladığımız sistemle fuarda büyük ilgi topladık ve sonucunda hem altın madalya kazandık hem de fuarın en büyük ödülüyle (Grand Prix) ödüllendirildik.

We returned from the 8th South Korean International Invention Fair with a first prize.The fair,which is supported by The World Intellectual Proprietorship Organization and the International Invention Federation,was held May 15-18.With almost 400 participants from 30 countries it displayed,in particular,important health connected discoveries.The main of the participants at the fair were South Korean,we,with our cooking system,represented Turkey.Although Teneke Kebab(chicken cooked in tin) was internationally unknown we,with our design system attracted great attention at the fair and at the end we were presented with the gold medal in addition to the most prestigious prize of the fair the ‘Grand Prix’.

LITTLE CAESARS ARTIK MERSİN’DE FINALLY LITTLE CAESARS IS IN MERSİN Dünyanın en hızlı büyüyen franchise zinciri Little Caesars, Akdeniz Bölgesi’ndeki ilk şubesini Mersin Mezitli’de açtı. Kendinizi kısaca tanıtır mısınız?

1974 Tatvan doğumluyum. Zonguldak Fener Lisesi eğitimi sonrasında, Boğaziçi İşletme bölümünü bitirip, ticaret hayatına atıldım. Kardeşim Erkan Mumcu ise 1979 Tatvan doğumlu olup, İstanbul Anadolu Teknik Lisesi eğitimi sonrası Kocaeli Üniversitesi Elektrik ve Elektronik bölümünden mezundur. CarWax ailesi iki kardeşin ortak hedefleri doğrultusunda kurulmuş bir şirkettir.

Will you please briefly introduce yourself?

I was born in Tatvan in 1974. After my Zonguldak Fener Lise education I completed Boğazıcı Business Administration then I entered the business world.In 1979 my brother Erkan Mumcu was born in Tatvan, after he completed Istanbul Anadolu Teknik Lise he then graduated from the Kocaeli University in Electric and Elektronics. He then entered the business world.

Hayrettin Mumcu, öğretmenlik hayatında devam ederken içten içe beslediği otomobil merakını bir gün okuduğu ekonomist Dergisindeki ‘’Oto Temizlik, Bakım ve Koruma Servislerinin En İyi Kazanç Getiren ve Yatırıma Açık Bir İş Kolu’’ olduğunu yazan cümleleri görmesi ile birlikte bu sektöre atılmaya karar vermiş.

Will you please tell us about the formation and development of your company?

While still in his teaching career,always keenly interested in cars Hayrettin Mumcu saw in the Economist Magazine the statement “The cleaning,repairing and protecting service of cars is one which brings in extremely good profit and is a sector which is wide open to investors”at that moment he decided to enter the sector. With experience gained over many years and because of his keen interest in cars he took the first step in this sector in 1989 when he took a 700 sq. ground and began under the name of “Öğretmenler (Teachers) washing and servicing”. Hayrettin Mumcu closely followed service,painting, shining and protecting systems and included them into his services,rapidly following this fast moving sector.

In 1990 when management was passed to Erkan Mumcu and myself,Mustafa Mumcu the CarWax brand name became one of the giants in the sector..Erkan Mumcu and I, with our experience and our successful investments had the goal of increasing by the Franchise

When did your company begin to give Franchises?

We opened the first franchise branch in 2002. To effect an institutional system we completed machinery and chemical equipment joined them with our expert personnel in order to be able to supply quality and availability by the franchising and in this manner to enlarge.

How many branches and personnel do you have?

Our aim for 2015 is to increase the existing 50 branches to 130 CarWax branches and to spread throughout Turkey,also because of staff education we are helping to solve one of the real problems in this sector that of well taught personnel.

Which are the standards you look for in the people to whom you have given or will give franchises to?

The person must have a mind which follows new trends in the car care sector and must also be extremely focused on customer satisfaction.He must have an entrepreneural mentality and a goal of success.At the same time he must have available the necessary finance.He must have experience in staff management and must wish to use his time and energy on the CarWax project.

Why do you believe entrepreneurs prefer your company?

From 2002 onwards CarWax has enlarged every year. It supplies various services to almost seven and a half million cars. It is the largest in Turkey in this sector.One of the main reasons behind the brands success is its following of new trends in the car care sector and also its being always focused on customer satisfaction.

What is the average investment needed to open a Franchise within your system?

The investment varies and is dependent on the branch concept,the conditions of investment,the size of the position etc.A placement in a shopping centre apart from the building and decoration is between 25-43 thousand dollars. A placement on a main road can change this figure by 10-25 thousand dollars.

What support do you give to your franchisees?

We help them with choice of position,the project itself,the obtaining of mutual advertising material and in obtaining marketing staff. As a partner of CarWax they have help in human resources from a professional company.The company directs visual and written work organizes press interviews and forms social responsibility projects. With its international and domestic press reports it helps not only newly opening but also existing stations.

Franchiseelerinizi nasıl denetliyorsunuz?

Bayilerimizi genel çalışma prensipleri ve ürün kullanımıyla ilgili olarak bayi koordinatörlerimizin yaptıkları ziyaretlerle denetlemekteyiz.

Education and Supervision?

Prior to the opening of a CarWax station our education and development department includes the entrepreneur in an educational program.This takes place at the CarWax academy,there for 2 weeks a theoretical and practical course is given.After that up until the opening of the new station the new entrepreneur is taught in a CarWax station-use of instruments used, service quality, cleanliness of the station, use of machinery together with its cleanliness and upkeep, customer sales,marketing, finance and crm programs are the many facets taught in addition to the use of the utensil catalogue.After the opening, for 4 weeks, our educational department controls and protects the quality of the service given.

Additional controls and teaching continues on a regular basis. Dependent on routine checks the station is given stars according to a pointing system. The stations compete with each other. These competitions are not only to award points but also to organize ongoing actions alwats focused on improvements.

Ongoing progress in the stations?

With the aim of supporting the franchisee stations our franchise district manager effects an objective analysis and accordingly produces plans for the station to increase their turnover, teach their personnel and improve their service quality.

Other than surface upkeep, cleaning systems and use of accessories the CarWax stations do not effect other processes.The chemicals used(‘paste’, polish,protective cleanliness and equipment)all are prepared in and sent from our Istanbul warehouse.

With each passing day, cars become an even more important part of a persons life and as that interest increases owners grow to have an emotional attachment to their vehicles.

However the car owners do not have enough time to ensure the upkeep,cleanliness and care needed they therefore prefer to hand over their car to a company which effects these services in a professional manner. For this reason this sector is one of rapid growth.

When and how did your company begin giving Franchises?

Since our Darıca Ekomini opening all our shops are formed within the franchise system.From the very beginning our aim was to offer a business opportunity into which entrepreneurs could comfortably enter.

Kaç şubeniz ve çalışanınız var?

Haziran 2015 sonu itibariyle, 80 ilde 1267 Ekomini mağazamız faaliyet gösteriyor. Mağazalarımızda işletmecilerimizle birlikte toplam 1500‘ün üzerinde çalışan var. Operasyonlarımızı 9 bölgede 60 kişilik bir yönetim kadrosu ile yürütüyoruz.

At the end of May 2015 there are 1246 Ekomimi shops throughout 80 regions.Our shops’ personnel and managers together are over 1500.Our operation is managed from 9 regions by a 60 person management team.

Will you please tell us about the firms foundation and growth?

The first Ekomini shop was opened in İzmit Darıca on the 30th of December 2011.The goal which we have fixed for ourselves is the whole of Turkey.In our first year we opened 484 shops. throughout 66 zones.

Franchise verdiğiniz-vereceğiniz kişilerde aradığınız standartlar nelerdir?

Bizim için çok önemli iki kriter var. Doğru lokasyon ve doğru işletmeci adayı. Dükkân kiralamalarını oldukça ciddi değerlendirmeler sonrasında gerçekleştiriyoruz. Öngörü müşteri sayısı ve ciro beklentilerini sağlayan 30-100 metrekare arası dükkânı kiralıyoruz.

Kiralanan dükkânın konsepte uygun tüm tadilat ve reyon yatırımını biz gerçekleştiriyoruz. İşletmeci adayının bu manada bir yatırım yapması gerekmiyor. İşletmeciden beklediğimiz, gerekli yasal işlemleri (işletme ruhsatı, vergi dairesi kaydı gibi) yerine getirmesi.

Yapacağı yatırım, mağazada satılacak ürünlerin satın almasından ibaret. Mağazalarımızda satışını önerdiğimiz yaklaşık 800 çeşit ürün var. Bu ürünlerin satın almasını yapıp mağazayı işletmeye başlıyor. Bu da ortalama büyüklükteki bir mağaza için yaklaşık 25-30 bin liralık bir sermaye gerektiriyor. Bizler tedarikçilerle merkezi görüşmeler yaparak işletmecilerimizin daha karlı ticaret yapmalarını sağlamaya çalışıyoruz.

Ölçek ekonomisi prensibi ile yapılan merkezi satın alma görüşmeleri sayesinde daha karlı ürün tedariği ve ticaret gerçekleştiriyorlar. Gerek işe başlarken ve gerekse ticaretine devam ettiği sürece ciddi bir tecrübe elde ediyorlar. Ayrıca 80 ilde faaliyet gösteren büyük bir ailenin parçası haline geliyorlar.

What are the standards that you look for in the people to whom you give or will give franchises to?

We have two important criteria.The correct location and the correct person.We rent premises only after an extremely serious evaluation.We rent shops sized from 30-100 sq m based on estimated customer potential and turnover.All premises are rented,repaired and decorated by us.In this way the entrepreneur does not have to make an investment.

What we expect from the entrepreneur is their obtaining the necessary legal formalities(e.g.work license and tax registration).The entrepreneurs investment starts with his/her buying of the shop stock.There are 800 different types of goods.

The entrepreneur buys from this merchandise and starts to sell. For a medium sized shop this involves an approximate investment of 25-30 thousand TL.We meet centrally with the investor to help in the obtaining of the most profitable merchandise range.

What is the approximate investment that an entrepreneur must make when opening under your Franchise system?

Apart from official documentation,the entrepreneur makes no investment during set up of the business.As I mentioned previously he can choose from our 800 item stock choice, for this approximately 25-30 thousand TL of investment will be needed.

What support do you give to investors under your system?

Repairs and decoration of premises are effected by us. We support with 6 months of the first years rent.From the formation of the franchise our management team is in constant contact with the entrepreneur.In the procuring of merchandise our management obtains price advantages through their buying power.Additionally we help with other contracts formed such as insurance, security systems, electric etc, all which bring down running costs.

Mağazalarımızı 2 farklı şekilde denetliyoruz. Dış kaynaklı denetim firması çalışanları yılda 4 defa mağazaya giderek gerekli incelemeleri yapıyor. Saha ekibimiz ise her ziyaretinde gerekli incelemeler yapıp, herhangi bir aksaklığın yaşanmasının önüne geçiyor.

How do you check up on your Franchisee?

We use two different methods,by using an external control company which visits the shop 4 times a year,secondly our own Ekomini regional team makes regular visits to overcome problems observed.

One of the most important is staying near to the concept and staying with known brands.In addition to this we can comfortably state that with strong customer relationships the business owner soon moves swiftly along the way.

What are your goals for the upcoming period?

Our 2015 year end aim is to have 1400 shops,then in the upcoming years continue to enlarge while always keeping our standards high. Our main aim is that the shops are sustained.

“Our company aims to become an international brand within 10 years time, today we have branches in Bornova, Buca, Alsancak and Bostanlı where we serve boutique type hamburgers based on different world tastes but adapted to the Turkish palate”said Mehmet Ali Yazıcıoğlu answering our questions.

Sizi kısaca tanıyabilir miyiz?

1977 Münih Almanya doğumluyum, çocukluğum Aydın Germencik’te incir bahçeleri arasında geçti. İlkokuldan itibaren İzmir’e taşındık. Dokuz Eylül Endüstri Mühendisliğini bitirdikten sonra eşim ile birlikte Amerika’da MBA üzerine yüksek lisans yaptık. Ohannes Burger’in fikir temellerinin atıldığı yer de oradaki butik burger firmalarıdır. Amerika’da okurken butik burger restoranı kurmaya karar vermiştik bile. Orada okurken bir yandan da et işleme tesisinde çalışıp etin inceliklerini öğrenmeye karar verdim.

Firmanızın kuruluş ve gelişim süreci hakkında bilgi alabilir miyiz?

3M firmasında planlama şefi olarak çalışırken ilk çocuğumuz doğdu. Çocuğumuzla daha fazla vakit geçirmek için İstanbul’dan İzmir’e dönüş yapma kararı verdik. Bunu fırsata çevirmek için yıllardır aklımda olan kendi burger işletmemi açma fikrini hayata geçirmek için kolları sıvadım. 2009 yılında İzmir’de atölyeyi kurdum. Damak tadına güvendiğim arkadaşlarımla denemelere başladım. Yaklaşık 100 çeşit köfte reçetesi çalıştıktan sonra şu an kullandığımız köfteyi geliştirdik. Menünün ana ürünleri netleşince Bornova’daki ilk satış yerimizi açtık. Kulaktan kulağa reklam politikası izledik ve kısa sürede Bornova’nın

Will you please briefly introduce yourself?

I was born in 1977 in Munich Germany,my childhood was spent in the fig gardens of Germencik Aydın.At primary school time we moved to Izmir. After completing Dokuz Eylül Industrial Engineering my wife and I obtained our MBA degrees in America.The Ohannes Burger idea was born there when we saw the boutique burger sector. We decided even while studying in America to setup a boutique burger restaurant. While still studying there I decided to work in a meat establishment in order to learn more about it Will you tell us about the establishment and growth of your company.

At the time our first child was born,when I was working in the 3M company as a chef,we decided to return to Izmir from Istanbul so as to be able to spend more time with our child.I saw this as an opportunity to put into action the plan which had always been at the back of my mind-setting up my own burger restaurant.In 2009 I established a work room in Izmir.I started to make tasting trials on friends whose tastes I could depend on.After working on approximately 100 different köfte (meat balls) recipes we developed

Franchise vermeye 2014 yılında Kıbrıs Şehitleri şubesi ile başladık. 2013 yılı sonunda Ohannes Burger’in büyüme stratejisini oluşturduk. Burada direkt yatırım yerine bayii ağıyla büyüme ve tedarik zincirini oluşturma fikirlerini benimsedik. 2014 yılı sonunda Buca şubesini açtık, 2015 ilk yarısında Bostanlı şubesini açtık. 2015 Eylül ayında da Balçova ve Manisa şubeleri hizmete başlayacak.

Kaç şubeniz ve çalışanınız var?

2015 Haziran itibariyle 4 şube ve 50 çalışanımız bulunuyor. Eylül ayında 2 şube daha hizmete başlayacak ve çalışan sayımız 75’e yükselecek.

Franchise alan kişi bizim için ortak anlamına geliyor. Bir ortaklıkta en önemlisi ortakların markaya inanmaları ve değer vermeleridir. Aradığımız en önemli özellik Ohannes Burger markasına fikirleriyle katkı sunabilmesidir. Ben çocuğuma yedirmeyeceğim ürünü satmam, bu bilincin tüm şube sahiplerimizde olmasına özen gösteririm. Kimyanın tutması şart.

Sizce girişimcilerin firmanızı tercih etme nedenleri nelerdir? İnsanların sevdiği butik bir iş yapıyoruz. Misafirlerimiz Ohannes Burgerden bahsederken övgü dolu sözler kullanıyor. Bunun bir parçası olmak ve kendilerini gerçekleştirmek için bizi tercih ettiklerini düşünüyorum. Ayrıca Ohannes Burger yatırımcıları arasında organik bağ oluşması ve herkesin fikrini iletebilmesi ortak olarak çalışabilmeleri de tercih sebebi oluyor. Şubelerin kazandırması ve geri dönüşüm oranının endüstri şartlarına kıyasla daha cazip olması da etken.

the one we presently use.Once our main menu was decided upon we opened our first sales location in Bornova. Our advertising was ‘from ear to ear, soon we became a much loved burger brand. We, together with our new venues formed the brand that when Izmir says burger the automatic brand name is the one we have formed.

When did your company begin to give Franchises?

We began in 2014 with the Cyprus Şehitler (martyr) branch. At the end of 2013 we formed our strategy for the enlargement of Ohannes Burger. We chose,rather than a direct investment, to use the provision chain method. At the end of 2014 we opened our Buca branch, in the first half of 2015 we opened in Bostanlı and in September this year we shall open in Balçova and Manısa.

How many branches and personnel do you have?

In June 2015 there are 4 branches and 50 personnel. When we open the 2 new branches in September the number of staff will rise to 75.

What are the standards you search for in the people to whom you have given or will give franchises to?

For us,the person who takes a franchise becomes our partner. In a partnership the essential ‘must have’is believing and valueing the brand.Another important criteria is that they (the entrepreneurs) are able to add new ideas to the Ohannes Burger brand. I would never sell anything in my restaurant that I would not feed to my own child all our branch owners have to be aware of this. Finally our chemistry must fit.

We are effecting a boutique business which people love.When our guests speak of Ohannes Burger it is always with praise.I believe that investors wish to become a part of this and at the same time are fulfilling themselves these are the reasons.Ohannes Burger investors develop an organic tie with each other and work in an environment where the exchange of ideas is appreciated.I believe they prefer a position where they can make something work and see the return of it rather than their being in industry.

What is the average investment needed to take out a franchise under your system?

If we calculate on a sq metre basis we come up with an approximate figure of three to three and a half thousand TL.

What support do you give to your investors?

If they are new entrepreneurs we support them with Kosgeb(Entrepreneurship financial startup support).We help in their finding and training staff.We also train and giva a certificate to the branch manager.We establish the complete enterprise.From inventory to finance reports all are effected centrally,in this manner a safer and better standard is achieved.

Her hafta mutfak ve salon denetimlerimiz var bu denetimlerden çıkan raporlara göre eğitim ihtiyacını ve eksiklikleri tespit ediyoruz. Ayrıca sistemler bütünleşik çalıştığı ve merkezin kontrolünde yürüdüğü için tüm satış rakamlarını değişken maliyetleri istatistikleri raporlayarak ihtiyaçları saptayabiliyoruz.

Girişimciler neden bu alanda franchise almalıdırlar?

Türkiye gibi şartların sıklıkla değiştiği ülkelerde yatırımcıların riski azaltmaları için güvendikleri markaya yatırım yapması ve markayla birlikte riski azaltalarak büyümelerini tavsiye ediyorum. Gıda sektörü vadeli satış olmamasından dolayı finansal krizlerden daha az etkilendiği için özellikle yatırım yapılabilir olarak ön plana çıkıyor. Türkiye’de özellikle son dönemde organik ürünler ve butik ürünler ön plana çıkıyor. Sektör fastfood dan fast casuala doğru kayıyor. Yemek yeme alışkanlıkları insanların bilinçlenmesiyle değişiyor. Dışarıda yemek yeme oranı iş gücü katılımıyla birlikte artıyor.

How do you check up on your franchisees?

Every week a check on kitchen and salon is effected then based on these reports training and other deficiences are rectified.Also as our total system is centrally contolled based on turnover reports we can evaluate requirements.

Why should investors enter this sector?

I advise investors who live in a country such as Turkey,where conditions change constantly,investment should be in a brand they trust and together with the brand reduce their risks when enlarging.An important factor is that the food sector is one which is not based on forward sale this results in it being less affected when a financial crisis arises,a good reason for investment.Naturally,also,a company such as Ohannes Burger which is growing rapidly and sharing its gains with its franchisees is a reason for investors to prefer it.

How do you evaluate the position this sector has come to recently?

Turkey,has,especially recently,become hugely aware of organic and boutique products.The food sector is moving away from fast food to fast casual.As people have become more knowledgeable the food they eat has changed.

The percentage of eating out is increasing as work does.

In the food sector the important components for new investors are:taste, the customer group aimed at and the location.For the Ohannes Burger franchisee the location has to be chosen with the utmost care.With the right branch in the right location an ongoing steady return can be ensured.Additionally, while always improving,they must become a part of the brand.

Önümüzdeki dönem hedefleriniz nelerdir?

2015 sonuna kadar şube sayımızı 10 şubede tutacağız. 2016 başında İstanbul pazarına giriş yapacağız. Ayrıca 2016 ilk yarısında yurtdışında da şube açmayı planlıyoruz. Bizim için uzun vadede önemli olan yurtdışında da katma değer yaratarak toplumumuza faydalı olmaktır.

What are your upcoming goals?

We shall maintain the number of branches at 10 up until the end of 2015. At the beginning of 2016 we shall open in Istanbul, we plan also to open a branch abroad in the first half of 2016.Important for us in the long run is being useful to our fellow beings by creating added value abroad.

ürkiye’de 30 yıllık franchise deneyimimizle ilginç bir noktaya geldik. Zincir sayısında Avrupa’nın lideriyiz ama dünyaya açılamıyoruz. Dükkan sayısını zincir sayısına böldüğümüzde ortalama 20 çıkıyor, bu sayı ABD de 200. Haliyle az şubeli zincirler verimsiz çalışıyor, güçsüz kalıyor. Örnek olarak herhangi bir AVM nin gıda katında kaç kişinin hangi işletmeden aldığına bakın, göreceğiniz tablo 3-5 yabancı müşterinin yarıdan fazlasını alıyor, kalanı 10-15 yerli paylaşıyor. Hangisinin yemeği daha iyi tartışılabilir, ama hangisinin zinciri daha iyi, tartışılamaz.

Farkın nedeni, yabancıların Amerikanvari, yerlilerin Türk işi çalışması. İstediği kadar yabancıların ekipmanını, uzmanını alsın, işe yaramıyor, dışı benziyor, içi değişmiyor. Franchise dünyadakinden bir hayli farklı gelişti. F&M olarak biz bu durumu “Türk tipi franchise” olarak tanımlıyoruz. Marka sahibi sistem kurmakla uğraşmıyor, işi ustasına, işletmeyi bayisine teslim ediyor. Eğitim vermiyor, eğitilmiş adam alıyor. Denetimsiz ticaret ve haksız rekabet ortamında “gemisini yürüten kaptan” diyor. Dört ana sektörde gördüğümüz şu.

Yiyecek alanında franchise alanın başarısı yere ve işletmeciye bağlı; verenin başarısı konseptin gücüne ve yer bulma kabiliyetine bağlı. Türk tipi franchise üç konuda dünyadan farklılaştı.

Tedarik: Dünyada tedarikçi olarak en uygun firma seçilip maliyet düşürülür, bizde franchise veren her şeyi kendi tedarik etmeye çalışır, fiyatları şişirir.

Ustalık: Dünyada işler basitleştirilir, herkese eğitim verilir, herkes her işi yapar, bizde mutfak ve servis ayrılıyor, işi bilen usta aranıyor, üstünkörü eğitim veriliyor.

Süre: Batıda 15-20 yıl süreyle franchise verilir, bizde süre 5 yıl. İşi öğrenen ayrılıyor, kendi zincirini kuruyor. Giyim alanında 90’larda markalar bayilik verir, çekini alır, işletmeye karışmazdı. “Türk tipi” franchise üç konuda belirginleşti.

Geri alma: Bayiler fiyat kırdı, indirime erken girdi, markalar müdahale edebilmek için konsinye satışa döndü. Stok, vitrin, dekor, eğitim derken perakendeyi öğrendiler, mağazaları bayilerden geri aldılar.

Kar düşmesi: AVMler açıldıkça müşteri dağıldı, bayiler zorlandı, kira markaların üstüne geçti, bayinin gücü azaldı. AVMler kimi sevdiyse onu büyüttü, yabancılar avantaj kazandı. Sonuçta giyimde bayiliğin tadı kalmadı.

Turkey with our 30 years franchising experience we have come to a surprising point.With the number of our chains we are the leaders in Europe. When we divide the number of shops into the chain number our resulting figure is 20, in Europe it is 200. In this situation chains with few shops work in a weak and nonproductive manner.To give an example,in whichever shopping center we look on the food floor we see more than half the customer number in 3-5 foreign locations, the remaining customer number is shared by 10-15 domestic locations. Which chains’food is better can be argued but which chain is better certainly cant. The difference is that the foreign brands work in an American manner, we the locals in a Turkish manner. Our chains can take as much foreign equipment and as many foreign experts as they wish, only the outside changes the inside remains the same.We have developed in a different Franchise manner to the rest of the Franchise world.In F and M we term this “Turkish Type Franchise”.

The owner of the brand does not occupy himself settingup his system he hands it over to his foreman or manager. He does not train them, he takes on trained people. In a world of uncontrolled business and unfair competition he becomes “The captain of the ship” This is what we observe in the 4 main sectors.

The success of a franchise in the food sector is dependent on position and management, on the ability of the franchisor to choose the right location for the right concept. Turkish type franchise differs from the world in three ways.

Preparaiıon Worldwide the most viably priced commodity is chosen, whereas we try to procure everything for ourselves, thus the price is jacked up.

Skills Worldwide, work is made easier,everyone is trained,everyone does every job, whereas we separate kitchen and service, a foreman who knows the work is taken and given only a superficial training.

Timing In the west a franchise is given fot 15-20years,we give for 5.People learn the business then leave and form their own chain.In the Ready to Wear sector 90% of the brands are franchised, after the cheque is taken then the franchisor has nothing more to do with the running of the business.”Turkish type franchising” is obvious in 3 ways.

Return Of Merchandise The franchisee reduces prices,and goes into sales too early for the brands to be able to interfere it becomes consigned selling. Stock, display, decoration, training in fact retailing is learnt then the brand takes back the franchise.

Gerçekten uzman olmayan küçük mağazaların şansı kalmadı. Şubeleşme: Küçük mağazalar franchise ile yayıldı ama, kar marjı düşünce bayiye yetmez oldu. Oysa yüz şubeli büyük veya bin şubeli küçük mağazanın karı az bile olsa, markanın sahibine yetiyor. İnternet satışları her sektörde fiyatı baskılıyor, kar azalıyor, olan bayiye oluyor.

Yerlileşme: Dünya devleri pazara girdi, yerliler işi onlardan öğrendi. Büyük sermaye zincirleri alarak perakendeye girince denge kuruldu. Şubeyi, maliyeti, fiyatı iyi yöneten yerliler yabancılarla baş edebildi. Gıdada, elektromarkette, yapı markette, mobilyada, katlı mağazada yerliler yabancıları yendiler. Hatta inanıyorum ki, AVMler yer vermese yabancılar iş yapamaz.

Hizmet alanında 90’lara kadar tek tük zincirler vardı. Sonra “Türk tipi franchise” gelişti, farklı sektörlerde farklı sonuçlar çıktı ortaya. Franchise tekniklerini bilmeyen, işi operasyondan ibaret sanan taklitler bir türlü orijinali gibi olamıyor, yabancılar giderek pazara hakim oluyor.

Gücüne güvenme: Monopol şans oyunları yüzlerce bayisini memur gibi çalıştırdı. Oligopol telefon operatörleri bayilerini primle oynattı, bir açtırdı bir kapattı. Oligopol meşrubat, bira, beyaz eşya markaları bayilerini seçti, asker gibi çalıştırdı, arada Rekabet Kuruluna yakalandılar. İşine güvenme: Biraz farklı olup da para kazanan perakendeciler hemen franchise verdiler. Çoğu franchise tekniklerini bilmedikleri için sistem kuramadı, sadece markalarını kullandırdı. Yer iyiyse, bayi becerikliyse iş yürüdü. Güzelikten zayıflamaya, dershaneden okula, PVC pencereden araç bakımına, birçok sektörde benzeri yaşandı. Bayi başka destek görmediği için franchise giriş bedeline “isim hakkı” diyor. Kendinin iş fikri olmadığından, kazandığını gördüğüne umut bağlıyor.

Türkiye’de 30 yılda franchise ile geldiğimiz noktanın özeti bu. Franchise zincirlerinin 6 gücü, 4 ortağı olur. Marka, yer, konsept, operasyon, fiyat, ürün alanında güçlü olmayan zincir kuramaz. Katma değerini franchise veren, alan, tedarikçi, tüketici arasında dengeli paylaştırmayan zincirleşemez. Yerli markalar ancak 2-3 güce sahipken zincirleşiyor, franchise tekniklerini bilmediğinden sistem kuramıyor, birikimi olmadığından işine yatırım yapamıyor, düşe kalka yürüyor. Karın çoğunu kendine aldığından bayiler kazanamıyor, bayilerini batırarak büyüyüp günü kurtarıyor. Büyük sermaye alır diye umuyor ama, sistemsiz ve karsız işe girmedikleri için tıkandığı noktada kimi el değiştiriyor, kimi kapanıyor. Organize perakendenin kuralı bu, en az hata yapan rakiplerini yutar, yerliler beceremezse yabancılar hepsini yutar. Yanlış da yapsa, eksik de olsa, bunlar ülkemizin markaları, yarının büyükleri bugünün eksikleri arasından çıkacak. Development When shops were small they were specialists,when they enlarged they increased the framework of their products.From market to Hipermarket,from Computers to Electrical Markets,from Ironmonger to Building Materials Markets everything to be found under one roof.There was no longer a place for the small shop specialists. Becoming chains, the small shops enlarged by franchising and as profit margins fell it became too little for the franchisee. Even if profit from 100 branches or 1000 small shops is not huge it can satisfy the brand owner. Internet sales are pressurizing prices in every sector,profits decrease the loser is the franchisee.

Localization The world giants went into the market, the locals learnt from them. High Capital chains can balance their business by entering retail. Locals who managed chains,finance and pricing well were able to compete.In the food,electromarkets, building materials, furniture sectors big local shops were able to better the foreign ones.In fact, I believe tha if foreigners are not given shops in shopping centers they cannot survive. In the service sector until the 90’s there were the occasional chains. Then “Turkish type Franchising” emerged and in different sectors different results can be seen.

Learning The Business Realestate, cleaning, vehicle renting,cargo,consultation,accomodation,foreign brands gave franchises and taught the business to the franchisees and professionals. Many who then left formed their own company. Those who do not know Franchise techniques, who believe that by copying it will work can never compare to the original, this is why foreigners become more and more dominant in the market place.

Don’t depend on your strength As in a Monopoly game of luck hudreds of franchisees worked like civil servants.Oligarthy telephone operators played the franchisees with premiums and one opened one closed. Oligarchy brands of soft drinks, beer, white goods chose franchisees, worked them like soldiers and in the meantime got caught up in rivalries.

Don’t depend on your work Slightly different retailers who did earn money immediately gave franchises.If the place and the franchise were good-it worked. This happened in many sectors-Beauty to Slimming,Classrooms to Schools, PVC window frames to Vehicle service etc.Because the franchisee was not given any support the price of the franchise became known as the royalty fee. Not having their own personal idea for a business when they realised a profit they became hopeful.

The summary of that which Turkey has become in the franchising world in 30 years is this. The franchise chains’s trength 6 has become commonplace 4.Those who are not strong in brand, position, concept, operations,price and product cannot form a chain.Franchise profit which is not equally shared by the franchisor, franchisee, preparer and the customer cannot become a chain. Local brands while still at a strength of only 2-3 become chains, set up systems without knowing franchise techniques and no available capital thus no investment moves on by falling then trying to get up then falling again.

As the franchisor takes most of the profit the franchisee cant earn,the franchisor enlarges and manages to survive by taking on more franchisees who don’t survive. Hope is for large capital, but using a nonviable system which doesnt work,no profit gain then when it all comes to a stop some change hands some close.Organized retail has this rule,the one who makes the fewest mistakes survives, if the local can’t survive the foreigners swallow up everything.Even if they make mistakes and fall short, these are our countys’brands.Tomorrows giants will emerge from amongst these deficiencies.As F and M we give support with teaching, supervising, consulting and sales support.

, çocuk ve genç giyimi, hazır giyim sektörünün en hızlı büyüyen alanlarından biridir. Bunda en büyük etken, Türkiye nüfusunun neredeyse yarısının bu grupta yer almasıdır. Tüketicinin bilinç düzeyine bağlı olarak, markalı ürünlere ilgi her geçen gün artıyor.

Tabii markalar da tüketicinin bilinçlenip kendilerine gelmesini beklemiyor. Örneğin, sadece çocuklara hitap eden mağaza sayısında ciddi bir artış var. Çocuklar için her şeyi bir arada sunan mağazalar; kalite, moda, şıklık, zevk gibi unsurları ön plana çıkarıyor. Andywawa olarak Wawahouse adı altında 2010 yılında franchise vermeye başladık. Wawahouse mağazalarımızı açarak tüketicinin talepleri doğrultusunda markamızı geniş kitlelere ulaştırmak için franchise sisteminin doğru seçim olduğunu düşünmekteyiz.

Will you please tell us about your company and its development?

Based on the experience and strength which our company the Shatel Group has given us in the textile sector, in fabrics,accessories,zips and with the mastership it taught us in exports in 2003 the idea of entering the baby and child RTW sector under the brand name AndyWawa was born.

The fundamental infrastructures and work systems were put into place. We continue to enlarge in this sector and with our inventiveness and using only top quality raw materials we have the vision of becoming a world brand.

In our production 90% of our input is of nature respecting materials and production is internal and of the highest standards. Ralfteks.A.S., which holds the total rights to AndyWawa, is a member of a 6 firm group which is both experienced and expert. This groups’first company Şık Duğme has been in business since 1940. The number of our employees is 360. AndyWawa has 98 branches which are mostly in Turkey and 15 Wawahouse shops. Exports are to the Middle East, Russia,Europe and America.

At this moment how many shops do you have and where are they?

We have a total of 15 “Wawahouse”shops 12 in Turkey in İzmir, Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Konya, Kocaeli, Gaziantep, Adapazarı, Balıkesır and Van the 3 abroad are in Russia, Kazakistan and Azerbaycan. In addition to these we have 98 corner franchisees.

When did you begin to give franchises and why did you choose the franchise system?

Under the Wawahouse name we began to give AndyWawa franchises in 2010. In answer to the customer demand seen when we opened our Wawahouse shops we concluded that the best way of having our merchandise reach a wide group of customers was via the franchising system.

A shop concept special to ourselves, the very special fabrics we use,our constant development in the management of our shops, our styles have not been previously seen they are designed by our own designers. All these are the factors which had not been seen before.

How do you see the future of your sector?

Turkeys’child population is on average 30% of the whole,our birth rate is higher (18.9%) than most countries, families are more knowledgeable and wish to have their children grow up healthily so for these reasons the baby and child RTW sector in which we work is growing rapidly and will continue to do so.

Will you tell us what your future goals are?

Domestically and abroad we shall increase by the franchise system and in this manner reach our goal of becoming a world brand while,at the same time,ensuring the financial and moral satisfaction of our franchisees.

We became aware of the lack of choice and quality in the baby,child and youth furniture sector.This awareness motivated us to open our first ‘Genç Bebe’in 2013 in Sakarya Asem Furniture market.

The philosophy of our Genç Bebe brand is to ensure that our designs appeal to the taste and comfort of children,and their mothers who form our customer core.Today we function in a professional manner,however we still maintain our traditional beliefs,our most positive purpose is to have the Genç Bebe brand used by present and upcoming generations.

At the moment how many branches do you have and where are they?

We presently work with 18 shops,as time passes this number will increase.Domestically there are 2 in Sakarya,4 in İstanbul,3 in Gazıantep,1 in Batman,1 in Eskişehir,1 in Kütahya,1 in Konya and 1 in Malatya.

Abroad we serve our clients in Tacikistan(Dusenba),Kosova,Azerbaycan and Irak(Dahok).

Firmanız bünyesinde Franchise sistemiyle açılacak bir işletmenin ortalama maliyeti nedir?

250-300 metrekare minimum bir şube düşünürseniz 120 bin ile 150 bin Türk lirası arasında değişir. Mağazanın konumu, cephesi, lokasyonu, fiziki durumu maliyetleri değiştirebilir. Önemli olan bu konuda düşük bir maliyetle kar marjı yüksek, getirisi çok olan bir iş kurmaktır.

They must be,as was the structure of the Genç Bebe brand,young,dynamic,high aimed,holders of ideas,lovers of competition,resolute,honest,sharing and most important of all fundamentally reformers. These are the type of friends with whom we wish to continue our journey. An indisputable fact-they must love their business.

How do you check up on your franchisees?

Genç Bebe has its own rules.It has its sales and supervisory staff who constantly visit our branches.

They ensure any necessary actions are taken. In business there is no place for sentiment.

What is the average required investment to open a business under your companys’franchise system?

If you think in the region of a 250-300 sq m. branch it can change between 120-150 thousand TL.The position the outlook,the placement and the actual condition of the building all affect the investment.

The primary factor is that the business is formed with low investment but high profit.

What motivates entrepreneurs to choose your company?

The major reasons are-We are young,dynamic,ambitious,lovers of competition, people who offer low investment high return-for these reasons they prefer us.

Will you tell us about the novelties that you have introduced into this sectorİ We have lived and experienced the fact that being together,acting together, sharing together are of utmost importance.Because of this we see our franchisees as our family and believe that they also should see us in the same way.

What are your thoughts on your sector for the upcoming years?

We know our business extremely well having had experience in it for 15 years. Baby, child, youth we see we only lack marriage. Throughout, our customers are increasing in number. This is why I believe we must work ever harder.

Will you tell us about your future goals?

We never form goals for ourselves. Our only aim is to improve day by day.Forming goals one has to be realistic. In 2 years we have opened 18 new shops.Tomorrow we shall open our 19th. As long as we make a profit we are a viable brand for our franchisees. We don’t believe in the ‘I did it mentality’. We open shops when they are required.We work totally on the principle of our daily renewal and aim to be the brand which customers prefer above all. Our biggest wish is to be the chain of shops which customers always highly recommend, with pleasure, to each other.

Bu sektörde birlik ve beraber hareket etmeyi, paylaşmayı en önemlisi ekibin ne kadar önemli olduğunu yaşayarak gördük. Bu nedenle biz girişimcileri ailemiz gibi görüyoruz ve onlarında bizi böyle görmesi gerektiğini düşünüyoruz.

Sektör ile ilgili 15 yıllık tecrübe ile hareket ettiğimizden dolayı kendi sektörümüzü çok iyi tanıyoruz. Bebek, çocuk, genç bu açılıma baktığımızda bir tek evlilik dönemi yok. Her dönem müşterimiz katlanarak artmaktadır. Bu nedenle daha çok çalışmamız gerektiğine inanıyorum. Önümüzdeki dönem hedeflerinizle ilgili bilgi alabilir miyiz?

Hiçbir zaman kendimize hedef koymayız. Tek hedefimiz dünden bu gün çok daha iyi olacağımızdır. Hedefleri koyarken gerçekçi olmak gerekir. 2 yıl içinde 18 yeni mağaza açtık. Yarın hedefimiz 19’uncu mağazayı açmaktır. Biz kar eden, kazandıkça yatırımcısına da kazandıran bir markayız. Ben yaptım oldu gibi anlayışta değiliz. İhtiyaçlara göre mağaza açıyoruz. Kendimizi her geçen gün yenileyerek tüketicinin tercih sebebi olmak için tüm çalışmalarımızı yapıyoruz. En büyük amacımız tavsiye edilen memnuniyeti yüksek olan mağazalar zinciri oluşturmaktır.

Sizi kısaca tanıyabilir miyiz?

1990 Ankara doğumluyum. Atılım Universitesi Bilişim Sistemleri Mühendisliği mezunuyum. Aile şirketi Toker Grup’da 6 yıldır görev almaktayım. Toker Bebe markasını 1967 yılında kuruldu. 2014 yılında çocuk ayakkabı sektördeki eksiklikler ve ihtiyaçlar göz önüne alınarak Steppo Çocuk Ayakkabı Markasını oluşturdum.

Will you please briefly introduce yourself?

I was born in 1990 in Ankara.I am a graduate in informatics systems from Atılım University.I have held a position in the family business,the Toker group,for 6 years.The Toker Baby brand was formed in 1967.I became aware that there was a large void in the childrens’footwear sector and so in 2014 I formed the Steppo Childrens’Footwear Brand.

Firmamız 1967 Yılından bu yana hizmet vermektedir. Bizler 2014 yılında sektördeki eksikleri, ebeveynlerin şikayetleri göz önüne alarak Steppo Çocuk Ayakkabı markasını kurduk. Bebek ve çocuk ürünlerinde önceliğin özellikle sağlık olduğunu, günümüzde bu konuya gerekli önemin verilmediğini ve bu özensizliğe tepki olarak Steppo markasını yaratma kararı aldık. Çocuk ayakkabısında markaların özel bir çalışma yapmak yerine bu ürünlere çatı markaları içerisinde sınırlı yer vermektedirler. Tüketici tarafından tanınan, sevilen ve tercih edilen bazı markalar dışında çocuk ve bebek sağlığına gerekli önem ve titizliğin gösterilmediğini Çin malı, ucuz ve sağlıksız ürünlerle tüketicilerin sağlığının bilinçsizce tehlikeye atıldığını düşünüyoruz. Bu yüzden de sadece çocukların ayakkabıcısı olarak yola çıkmış bulunuyoruz.

Will you tell us about your company its foundation and development?

Our company has been in business since 1967.After listening to sustained complaints put forward by parents regarding the deficiencies in childrens footwear we formed the Steppo Childrens Footwear Brand in 2014.A childs’footwear should be focused on health and we believed that enough care and importance had never been taken, therefore in order to rectify this we decided to form the Steppo brand. Aside from only a few preferred and loved brands,this category had held only an unimportant position under a general brand name. We believed that,cheap,unhealthy Chinese merchandise was putting the childrens’feet at risk. Bearing all this in mind we work on childrens’ footwear only.

At the moment how many branches do you have and where are they?

Presently we have 4 branches in Ankara ,one in Eskişehir and one in Konya. We plan to enlarge to 10 branches by 2016.

Başkent Ankara’da dört şubemiz Eskişehir ve Konya’da bir şubemiz bulunmaktadır. 2016 yılına kadar bu rakamı 10 şubeye çıkartmayı planlıyoruz.

Franchise vermeye ne zaman başladınız? Neden Franchise sistemini seçtiniz?

2015 yılının ilk çeyreğinde franchise vermeye başadık ve franchise almak isteyen girişimcilerin yoğun ilgisi üzerine firmamızda franchising departmanı oluşturduk.

Yatırımcı adaylarında aradığınız kriterler neler?

Steppo franchisee mağaza işletmecisinin girişimci bir ruha sahip olması, başarı için çaba sarf etmesi, cesaretli ve girişken olması büyük önem arz etmektedir. Franchising verdiğimiz girişimcilerin ticari ruha sahip olmaları gerekmektedir.

Denetlemeleri nasıl gerçekleştiriyorsunuz?

Steppo şubelerini öneride bulunmak, izlemek ve gelişmesine yardımcı olmak için periaodik zamanlarda denetimler de bulunuyoruz. İlk olarak personel eğitimlerinin devamlılığını sağlamak

When did you begin offering franchises and why did you choose the franchise system?

We began to offer franchises in the first quarter of 2015, then when we became aware of the immense interest from potential entrepreneurs we formed a franchising department.

What are the criteria you search for in your franchise candidates?

It is extremely important that people who wish to take on a Steppo Franchise be true entrepreneurs,courageous, hard working and success focused with a real feeling for business.

How do you check up on Franchisees?

We effect periodic inspections with the positive purpose of offering suggestions,solutions and encouragement towards their enlargement.Our own personnel visit regularly to offer merchandise information, we also use the ‘secret customer’ system and finally we check on financial situations, advertising and any other perceived requirements.

Kuruluşa hazır hale getiriyoruz. İsterse yatırımcımız dekorlarını kendileri yaptırabiliyorlar. Bizim ekiplerimiz tarafında dekor yapılırsa metrekare birim fiyatı değişmektedir. İsim hakkı ve tüm kuruluş hizmetleri için 25 bin ile 35 bin dolar arası yatırım bedeli ödemesi gerekiyor.

Girişimcilerin firmanızı tercih etme nedenleri nelerdir? Çocuk ayakkabı sektörü şuan da Türkiye’de yeni ve büyük bir boşluk var. Steppo Mağazalarında bir çocuğun 1 yaşından 14 yaşına kadar alabileceği tüm ayakkabı markaları bulunmaktadır. Çocukların ayakkları 4 ile 6 ay arasında büyümektedir. Devamlı ayakkabı ihtiyacı ve devamlılığı olan bir sektördür.

Girişimcilerin başarılı olması için nelere dikkat etmeleri gerekir?

Girişimcilerin başarılı olabilmesi için müşteriye gösterilen özen ilgi en üst sevide olması lazımdır. Çocuk, ayakkabı beğenirken anne, baba ve satış yapan personelin yönlendirmesiyle ayakkabıyı almaktadır. Eğer doğru yönlendirme ve ilgi gösterdiğiniz zaman ebeveyin hiç bir mağazaya uğramadan Steppo Mağazasına gelmektedir. Bir de en önemlisi yatırımcının işinin başında durmasıdır.

Bu alana getirdiğiniz yeniliklerden bahseder misiniz?

Türkiye’de sadece çocuk ayakkabılarını bir mağazada toplayan ve büyüyen mağaza sayısı çok azdır. Steppo olarak seçkin markaların çocuk gruplarını tek bir mağazada topluyoruz ve müşterilerimize sunuyoruz. Önümüzdeki dönem hedeflerinizle ilgili bilgi alabilir miyiz? İlk olarak çocuklar için daha sağlıklı ve rahat ayakkabılar üzerinde çalışmaktayız. Çocuklarımızın Steppo markalı ayakkabıları giyip rahatlığını hissetmesini sağlayacağız. 2015 yılının sonunda 10 şubeye, 2016 yılının sonunda ise 25 şubeye ulaşmamız hedeflerimiz arasında yer alıyor.

What is the average investment needed when taking out a franchise within your companys’system?

We establish the business.If investors wish they themselves can undertake the shop decoration if it is effected by our team the price changes according to m’ involved.For the use of our brand name and business formation formalities a payment of 25-35 thousand dollars is required.

What are the reasons for entrepreneurs giving preference to your company?

Presently,in Turkey,there is a large void in this sector.However in the Steppo branches all esteemed brands are to be found for children from 1 to 14 years old.Childrens ‘feet change constantly with growth being on a 4-6 months basis. It is a sector which needs to meet this constant demand.

What do entrepreneurs need to do in order to be successful?

It is essential that they show absolute utmost interest in their customer.While choosing footwear a child is led by the mother,father and the sales staff.If the true required interest is shown the parents will in turn always come directly to Steppo shops.The other essentiality is that the entrepreneur be there in charge of the business.

Will you tell us about the new ideas which you have brought to this sector?

In Turkey shops which sell all brands of only childrens’ footwear are very rare.Under one roof, we at Steppo bring together all the select brands for customers to make their choice from.

What are your goals for the upcoming period?

Of primary importance is our work on more healthy and comfortable childrens’footwear.We shall ensure that children wear Steppo.We intend having 10 branches by the end of 2015 and 25 by the end of 2016.
