DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN CAPE TOWN

We arrive at Cape Town International Airport and will be picked up by our guide and taken to The Commodore Hotel at the Waterfront. The remainder of the day is free for you to settle in.

Cape Town is a modern, cosmopolitan port city on South Africa’s southwest coast. Surrounded by nature, the city is on a peninsula beneath the imposing Table Mountain which gives sweeping views of the city and harbour. Cape Town is home to beautiful beaches and award-winning food & wine.

DAY 2 - CAPE TOWN

Today we depart for our tour of Cape Town at 8.30am. We start our tour by travelling along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at a Llandudno look-out point before continuing to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach.

We then continue on through Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve. The reserve has magnificent fynbos vegetation, birdlife, endemic antelope species and zebra, historic lighthouses and shipwrecks. Cape Point is perceived to be the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

We will have our welcome dinner at the Gold Restaurant at 6.30pm, which will include a Djembe Drumming performance.

DAY 3 - GOLF DAY - ATLANTIC BEACH

Today we play our first round of golf at the Atlantic Beach Golf Club. We will depart the hotel at 10am ready for a tee off times starting at 11.30am.

Arguably the best golf links in Cape Town, Atlantic Beach Links offers you a 5-star golfing experience, enriched by the most spectacular setting in Cape Town. Designed and maintained by international golf architect Mark Muller, the course offers the most breathtaking, iconic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain. The golf course winds its way through undulating dunes, with fairways and greens beautifully accentuated by natural, locally occurring Fynbos.

This evening at 6pm we will have a dinner together at the Sunbird Restaurant on the Atlantic Beach Golf Estate.

DAY 4 - GOLF DAY - STEENBERG

Today we play a round of golf at the Steenberg Golf Club.

The Peter Matkovich & Hayes designed golf course, consistently named one of the best conditioned courses in South Africa Golf Digest’s Annual Top 100, attracts golfers seeking a premium golfing experience. The 18-hole golf course was designed to make full use of natural features and hazards such as the vineyards, pine forest and gentle waterways.

Dinner is included this evening.

DAY 5 - ROBBEN ISLAND 19 Sept

Today we take the ferry to Robben Island, the notorius prison that once held Nelson Mandela and is now a living museum.

This offers a different perspective on South African history but always proves to be a central talking point for discussions relating to governance- the past and the future of this incredible country.

DAY 6 - STELLENBOSCH

Today we have a free day and transfer to Stellenbosch.

Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, is a cultural hub for inspiring art, wine and food. The town is known as ‘The CIty of Oaks’ due to the large number of Oak trees that line the streets planted by its founder. A university town, it is surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg.

DAY 7 - GOLF DAY - DE ZALZE

Today we play a round of golf at the De Zalze Golf Club.

De Zalze offers a fine mix of parkland holes, its main defenses being the water features on several of the holes. The oaklined Blaauwklippen River winds its way through the golf estate and comes into play at various intervals. Renowned golf course architect, Peter Matkovich, designed the De Zalze Golf Course, making the most of the stunning setting while placing a premium on accuracy.

Ranked 24th in the latest Golf Digest Top 100 courses, the course is not easy. Water, huge fairway and deep greenbunkers make it difficult for the player, with a spectacular 3rd tee-off situated on an island.

DAY 8 - WINE TASTING

Today we enjoy two wine farm visits with tastings in the Stellenbosch region, followed by a relaxed afternoon.

We firstly visit Ernie Els Wines, named after the South African golf legend, Ernie Els. The winery produce an award-winning range of wines from the world-renowned Helderberg region of Stellenbosch.

Then we travel on to Spier, a winery dedicated to nurturing their land, craft award-winning wines, champion South African art and grow wholesome food. Whilst at Spier, we will enjoy an Alfresco lunch at Spier Gardens.

DAY 9 - GOLF DAY - DE ZALZE

Today we have the opportunity to play a second round of golf at the De Zalze Golf Club.

A common request we get is to have the chance to re-play a course whilst on the tour to make use of all the tips and tricks learnt playing the first round.

With some stunning water features to combat, we feel the De Zalze course is the perfect challenge to better your score from the first round!

Taking the scenic coastal route via Clarence Drive, giving panoramic views of False Bay, the coastline, Table Mountain, and parts of the Cape Peninsula, we stop at the Stony Point Nature Reserve in Betty’s Bay to visit the penguin colony. Home to one of the largest and most successful breeding colonies of the African Penguin in the world, we get the chance to see these wonderful flightless birds up close on the boardwalk through the colony, allowing the public to observe the birds without disturbing their daily activities.

DAY 14 - GOLF DAY - SIMOLA

Today we play a round of golf at the Simola Golf Course.

The 18-hole, par 72 Championship course meanders along the impressive landscape high atop Simola hill. The magnificence of the site inspired golfing legend Jack Nicklaus to design a masterpiece amidst the rolling hills of the Simola Estate.

Lauded as the greatest golfer in the history of the game, the Golden Bear is also acknowledged as one of the world’s leading golf course designers with more than 200 courses around the globe bearing his famous signature.

Unique to coastal courses, the wind is rarely a factor here, while it has often been said that the incredible views will make it hard to keep your head down.

DAY 15 - GOLF DAY - PEZULA

After a hearty breakfast we enjoy a round of golf at the Pezula Golf Estate.

General Tour Information

All standards of golf are catered for, but players should have an official NZGA handicap, or Australian equivalent. Players are to provide their own golf clubs. It is most important that all golf gear (including shoes) must be thoroughly cleaned prior to leaving both New Zealand & Australia as it is highly likely that they will be inspected by both Australian and New Zealand Customs/Biosecurity. Dirty clubs or shoes may incur heavy penalties. Motorised carts will be supplied where specified, with pull buggies provided at other venues. Those players requiring motorised carts on all courses should indicate this on the booking form. Upgrades from pull buggies to motorised carts (where not included) will incur additional charges. In the event of an accident, the driver is responsible for the costs to repair the cart and any property damaged as well as being liable for any personal injury claims. If you wish to book your own airfare, you will be charged a land only price. If your flight times do not coincide with the tour group transfers, you will be required to make your own way to the accommodation at the start of the tour and to the airport at the end of the tour. Sharing - If you are travelling alone, but wish to share a room with someone else, please indicate this on your registration form. We will do everything possible to arrange quad/twin share accommodation in these instances. However if it cannot be arranged, the ‘own room’ supplement will apply. Our tours are contingent on sufficient numbers participating on the tour. If the tour does not go ahead due to lack of numbers, a full refund of your deposit will be made. Bookings are required at least 60 days prior to departure. Late bookings will be considered, but may be subject to surcharge costs.

Please note that prices quoted are subject to change. Price changes may occur by reason of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes, supplier tariff increases and airfare increases.

Taxes & other incidental costs

All airline & airport taxes are included in the tour price (when airfares are included in the package), as are tips for coach drivers, guides etc. Where applicable, tips for caddies or for other personal services received are left to your own discretion. You will be advised as to the expected level of these tips before the trip.

As a full service bonded travel agency, we are able to assist you with flight itineraries, hotel bookings, car hire etc. If you choose not to take advantage of the flights quoted as part of the tour package, please be aware that you will be responsible for your travel to and from the tour start and finish points. Flights will be subject to availability and any applicable surcharges at the time of booking.

Travel Insurance is absolutely essential and you should arrange this at the time of booking. Your insurance protection should include cover for cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses, personal injury and accident, death, loss of personal baggage and money, plus personal liability insurance. Insurance cover offered by credit card companies or reciprocal medical cover agreements are often not comprehensive. You must carry details of your Insurer with you, including contact details, in case of emergency. We offer travel insurance through CoverMore and Kiwi Holiday Insurance at competitive rates – please let us know if we can help you with this.

Travel Advice

We recommend that you contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade or visit their website at www.safetravel.govt.nz for general travel advice, as well as specific advice (including safety alert levels) relating to the destination you wish to visit.
