Go Zion is designed to help our community become more healthy and active. The Zion Park District has partnered with the Lake County Health Department on a county wide initiative to improve the health of Lake County residents. Live Well Lake County is promoting the simple act of walking, 30 minutes a day, as a means to improve health. Join us and your neighbors in walking your way to better health! This walk is a FREE family event. Strollers are welcome. No pets please.

Unplug Illinois

SATURDAY, JULY 10TH Ditch your electronic devices go outside, unplug, play, and engage with each other through experiences at the Zion Park District. Spending time outdoors is one of the fastest ways to improve your health and happiness.

Shiloh Pond Fishing Derby: Come on out to fish in the pond from 7 – 10 am. We will meet on the south side of Shiloh Lagoon. All supplies will be available. Join us at 10 am for a Nature Walk at Hosah Park with Kathy Garness. We will learn about all the rare plants at Hosah and why this area is vital to the Great Lakes. We will meet in the parking lot and walk down to the beach. Please dress for the weather, wear good walking shoes, and don’t forget your bug spray! Bring your four legged best friend to Jordan Park and learn how to run a dog agility course. Course will be open from 10 am – 12 noon. All dogs must be on a leash (6ft would work best) and bring shot records with you. Join us at the Shiloh Center Patio from 10 am -12 noon to play yard games. We will enjoy cornhole, bocce ball, croquet & ladder ball. Duck, dodge & dive is all you need to do to win a friendly game of family dodgeball from 12 noon to 1 pm in the Sports Arena. We will supply all the equipment and the fun! Calling all dancers, non-dancers and music lovers - come one, come all! Steppin’ Dance Party at Hermon Park Community Center 4 – 7 pm. Enjoy a FREE round of golf with your child at Shiloh Park Golf Course! Children must be supervised at all times by an adult on the course. Course will be open at 5 pm to sunset for the UNPLUG event only. Call Shiloh Park Golf Course at 847-7465502 after July 1st to make your reservation. Dip Dip Hooray! Get your swim on at Port Shiloh Pool! FREE family swim hour from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Come dressed to swim and bring a towel! Due to Restore Illinois guidelines pool capacity is limited to 75 patrons. Call the Leisure Center at 847-746-5500 after July 1st to make your reservation. Registration is required for Shiloh Park Golf and Port Shiloh Pool activities and is appreciated for all other events. In the case of a schedule change or cancellation due to inclement weather‚ we will make every attempt to contact you.
