Dear Parents,

My second term at Godstowe has whistled past. Whilst it’s been a slightly shorter term than Autumn, in true Godstowe style, we ’ ve definitely packed a lot in.

In our end of term Celebration Assembly this morning, we were able to recognise the school’s successes Boarders of the Term, Sports Colours and Finem Respice badges were awarded and we also took the opportunity to congratulate those girls who have, so far, been awarded scholarships to their next school Mr Adams rightly said, “It takes the support of the teachers and your families and a lot of hard work from you ” . We are enormously proud of all the girls and can’t wait to hear more of their successes at whichever schools they go to Nursery and Lodge joined us for their Easter Bonnet parade this morning This was definitely a highlight of my day and thank you to you for the effort you have put into their hats

This term, I have been delighted to welcome so many of you to the events we ’ ve hosted at Godstowe With sports matches, Student recitals, the Lowers’ production of Project Planet and today’s Perriss Knight awards and Spring Concert, it really has been wonderful to see you. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all the support you have given us and your children this year so far The Godstowe community really is like no other

I would also like to extend my thanks to the teachers We’ve had Careers week, Maths week, Book week, a Music Tour to Liverpool, Wellie Walks, Easter Egg Hunts and trips to Bletchley Park, the Jewish Museum, Speen Horse Trust and All Saints Church There has been lots to enhance our classroom curriculum and I’m sure you’ll agree that the children really enjoy these trips.

Our Music department has been very busy this term The Godstowe Symphony Orchestra were invited to Queen Anne’s for an afternoon of Orchestral collaboration, our Middles took part in the Heathfield Choral Competition and our Chamber Choir participated in Young Voices concert at the OVO Wembley Arena Then today we celebrated the start of Spring with our Spring Concert Every girl from Form I, II, Lowers, Middles and Chamber Choir sang beautifully. The instrumentalists performed with such grace and enthusiasm, it really was a fantastic display of the talent we have here at Godstowe I was even treated to a recorder performance at the Perriss Knight awards today along with some fantastic songs from our younger musicians

y g p g p g , scenes, or helping with the set design A very poignant message and a big congratulations to everyone involved!

I always enjoy assemblies as it’s an opportunity for the children to get together for us to share important messages. However, this term we have welcomed lots of visitors to host our assemblies Thank you to those parents who have taken time out of their busy schedules to talk to the girls about their professions We also welcomed Abi Elphinstone and Nick Carter, both of whom inspired the girls to ask “what if” and to go searching for adventures Lodge welcomed writer Chris Connaughton and Robyn Connelly from All Saints Church

Our SKSN Bedroom makeover campaign has been a success We have raised enough to complete the makeover of all 10 bedrooms at the school in India. Pete Gill came to an assembly to talk to the girls about the project and to launch our “Girl Power” poster competition The entries will be sent off to London this week to be judged and we will find out the winners next term This really wouldn’t be possible without your help

Lodge's Wellie Walk was great this year The rain almost held off for every child in Nursery and Lodge to don their

As always, the sports teams at Godstowe travel around the country to show off their skills and represent Godstowe Most recently we ’ ve seen Cross Country success with girls off tomorrow to compete for Bucks Swan in Loughborough. Good Luck girls! This week alone we ’ ve had swimmers at Pipers Corner, U12 netballers at Wycombe Abbey and the A team went to Ipswich for their IAPS The girls are fantastic ambassadors for Godstowe and always demonstrate great teamwork I try to make as many matches as I can and it’s great to see so many of you out there supporting your daughters

My final thanks must go to those of you who have already completed our Parents’ Survey. This feedback will play a great part in shaping the future of Godstowe. The survey is still open and you can complete it via this link It only takes about 20 minutes

And with that, I wish you and your families a happy and restful Easter break

With best wishes

I’ve also hosted some visitors from Education consultancies and I have loved telling them about the school and the children here, it really is some of the easiest conversations I have We have updated reviews on Muddy Stilettos and Talk Education and Good Schools Guide is due to visit in the Summer term
