Lodge have had a very busy and exciting end of term We all enjoyed our picnic on Tuesday, eating together on the lawn in front of Walker House. This was followed by May Pole Dancing for each year group, which required great concentration, but was also fun!
Nursery had a fantastic visit to Odds Farm Park on Thursday, where they milked cows, fed the pigs and enjoyed a very bumpy tractor ride Meanwhile Beginners entertained the Kindergarten teachers for a special tea, with homemade honey biscuits, whilst Transition enjoyed several visits to Main School, including having lunch there on two occasions and meeting Form I for some team games
The term finished with a wonderful Perriss Knight Awards Ceremony, celebrating many of the children's successes this term Congratulations to all of Lodge for a fabulous year and we hope you all have a lovely summer holiday!
On Saturday some of the EAL girls woke up at 8 o 'clock to get ready for the FCE exams that they have been preparing for all year
The other girls woke up at 9 o 'clock and enjoyed a late breakfast followed by some free time. We then decorated some envelopes ready for The Walker Press
During lunch we saw the lovely EAL girls as they had a break from their exams.
In the afternoon all the boarders went to the Art Room and Activities Lab to make bunting and banners for our Swim the Channel event. Everyone was really creative and made some lovely decorations to hang up around the pool. In the evening, we started our end of term packing, showered and then settled down to watch a film The Middles and Uppers watched 'The Sleepover' and the Fourths watched '2 Hearts' which was a very sad film
We woke up on Sunday at 8:45am ready and excited to swim the channel for the James Shone charity 'I can and I am ' We had been looking forward to this all term, working hard to fundraise for this amazing charity and creating beautiful banners and bunting It was a truly fabulous day! Everyone cheered and clapped as we took it in turns to swim our lengths. There were also some fun challenges throughout the swim such as swimming with a rubber duck on our head! As we neared our target everyone joined in to swim one more length When we were down to the last few lengths the four Heads of House jumped in to complete the challenge After an amazing afternoon of swimming we celebrated with crepes, popcorn and smoothies. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the field before enjoying a BBQ for supper To end the day we all enjoyed an ice cream from our favourite ice cream van!
