A letter from the Headmistress
Well done to our Middle Thirds, who arrived back yesterday with smiles, stories and memories from their music tour to Liverpool What an accomplishment and the pictures from Chester and Liverpool Cathedral are stunning Thank you to our dedicated team who accompanied them, led by Mrs Martin. I was also impressed to receive two postcards from the tour girls, which I thought was a nice touch!
I had a very good meeting with our FoG Chairs on Tuesday this week. It was so lovely to see so many fresh and exciting ideas being put forward and can I take this chance again to rally you ALL to buy your tickets for our Summer 'Greatest Showman' Ball on Saturday 1st July We have a terrific night ahead that evening and we'd love to see as many of you there as possible. In fact, our Summer Term is looking packed with events, workshops, speakers and concerts. We have just finalised the Summer Term Red Diary and the calendar looks full of fun and promise! Godstowe's Got Talent took Main School by storm today with acts across all year groups- more in my end of term letter!
Remember to look out for Monday's 2023 Parent Survey and thank you once again for taking part in our feedback
Have a wonderful weekend ahead and see you all at our final week events ahead of the Easter holidays

Lodge have had another very busy and exciting week, culminating in our fabulous Wellie Walk in aid of Comic Relief! The children were full of enthusiasm and we were very impressed with their efforts as they completed many laps of Lodge playground Thank you so much for your support of the children and this charity At lunchtime today, we had raised over £800! There are still opportunities to show your support online at the following link: Lodge's Wellie Walk 2023
Lodge also enjoyed an assembly from Robyn (from All Saints Church) on Tuesday There were opportunities for everyone to take part as she spoke about the different signs of Easter. Lodge were also amazed by the 'Maths Magician' on Wednesday, and a great deal of fun was had, whilst learning a few Maths skills!
This week, parents have also had an opportunity to watch the children's swimming lessons Thank you to the PE staff for making this possible, and we hope those of you who were able to attend enjoyed watching your children in the pool

This week has been very busy in Nursery! We've been making Mother's Day cards using a range of materials such as printing with Lego blocks, finger painting, colouring and practising name writing. For the 'b' sound of the week the children loved using water paints and fine brushes to paint butterflies with care and precision. The children found it exciting attempting to use their feet instead of their hands in our art session In keeping with Spring approaching, we made super green spinach and banana muffins.
Another fun and busy week! Beginners’ highlight was our very first school trip to The Speen Horse Trust We loved seeing all the horses and learning about their history. We also loved going on the minibuses. We were pleased to celebrate International Maths Day and have been working on subtraction this week. We have also learnt the ‘oi’ and ‘ ear ’ sounds, can you spot them in any books this weekend?

Kindergarten children have continued to work with enthusiasm, especially whilst learning about Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. This History lesson was also an introduction to time lines - a difficult concept when you are only 5 or 6 six years old! Talking about how old their parents and grandparents helped but there seemed to be several ancient parents and very young grandparents! Our new Maths topic is numbers up to 50, with a focus on place value and counting in 10’s. In Literacy, the children were introduced to similes and went on to use their own ideas in some very special (and secret - all will be revealed on Sunday!) writing. Wishing all mums a Happy Mother's Day - we hope you enjoy our DT
Transition had a wonderful visit to the Chiltern Open Air Museum on Monday, despite the windy conditions. In the morning, they experienced a Victorian school room, with a very strict teacher, who made them work in silence on some Maths questions on slates, and also made them try some handwriting in a copy book. This was particularly tricky for our left-handed students who had to use their right hand! The teacher was especially impressed with the Transition children, saying that they were the best behaved group she had ever taught! In the afternoon, the children learnt how to make drop scones, which were cooked over an open fire We also had opportunities to visit some different houses, meet some sheep, goats and chickens, and of course, play in the new playground!
We are looking forward to our end of term activities next week, including our Easter bonnet parade and Perris Knight Awards on Thursday morning

The journey to Mont Tremblant was quite exciting and for some of us a new experience. We left school at 12 00 and headed to the airport. We then split up into groups and took a look around the terminal We were in terminal 5 so all the shops were very nice. The flight left quite late in the evening, so we flew overnight to Montreal where we landed at...more
