Les garde-temps présentés dans ce catalogue ont été présélectionnés cet été par l’Académie du GPHG, communauté internationale de professionnels et passionnées d’horlogerie comptant à ce jour 980 membres.
Réparties dans 15 catégories, ces 90 montres signées par 57 marques, sont en lice pour gagner les 20 prix remis annuellement par le GPHG, dont le prestigieux Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or.
Témoignant de la créativité et du dynamisme de l’horlogerie contemporaine, ces 90 garde-temps sont exceptionnellement réunis cet automne à l’occasion d’une exposition qui fait halte à Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh-Ville, New York et Genève, tandis que Bucarest accueillera les lauréates après la cérémonie de remise des prix (cf. pages 18-19).
Nouveautés de l’édition 2024, la catégorie Time Only est ouverte à des garde-temps classiques à deux ou trois aiguilles et sans complications, et le prix de l’Eco-Innovation récompensera un garde-temps dont le développement met l’accent sur la durabilité et la traçabilité.
Le palmarès 2024 sera dévoilé le mercredi 13 novembre prochain à l’occasion de la 24e cérémonie de remise des prix du GPHG, qui aura lieu au Théâtre du Léman à Genève et pourra être suivie en direct sur gphg.org

The timepieces presented in this catalogue were nominated this summer by the GPHG Academy, our international community of watchmaking professionals and enthusiasts with 980 members to date.
Divided into 15 categories, these 90 watches from 57 brands are in the running to win the 20 prizes annually awarded by the GPHG, including the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix.
Testifying to the creativity and dynamism of contemporary watchmaking, these 90 timepieces are exceptionally brought together this autumn for an exhibition making stopovers in Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, New York and Geneva, while Bucharest will play host to the winners after the Awards Ceremony (see pages 18-19).
In a new feature for the 2024 edition, the Time Only category is open to classic timepieces with two or three hands and no complications ; while the Eco-Innovation prize will reward a timepiece whose development focuses on sustainability and traceability.
The 2024 winners will be announced on Wednesday 13 November at the 24th GPHG Awards Ceremony, which will take place at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva and can be followed live on gphg.org

Les 90 montres présélectionnées par l’Académie du GPHG sont exposées cette année à Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh-Ville, New York et Genève Bucarest mettra à l’honneur les lauréates après la 24e cérémonie de remise des prix du GPHG, qui aura lieu le mercredi 13 novembre 2024 à Genève.
Cette exposition itinérante offre un panorama unique sur la créativité horlogère contemporaine. Nous remercions vivement nos partenaires locaux qui organisent ces évènements avec l’intention partagée de contribuer au rayonnement de la culture horlogère dans le monde.
Au Musée Rath à Genève, un vaste programme de médiation culturelle est proposé quotidiennement au public, avec des visites guidées, des ateliers d’initiation à l’horlogerie, ainsi que des conférences et des animations destinées aux jeunes. Cette année la HEADGenève propose dans ce cadre l’exposition Beyond the Clock réunissant les travaux des étudiants de la Chaire en Design Horloger et du Master Media Design.
The 90 watches nominated by the GPHG Academy are exhibited this year in Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, New York and Geneva. Bucharest will honour the winners after the 24th GPHG Awards Ceremony, which will take place in Geneva on Wednesday 13 November 2024.
This travelling exhibition offers a unique panorama of contemporary watchmaking creativity. We wish to extend our warmest thanks to our local partners who put on these exhibitions with the shared intention of contributing to the promotion of watchmaking culture around the world.
In Geneva, a wide-ranging programme of cultural activities runs in parallel with the exhibition at the Musée Rath offering the public daily guided tours, introductory watchmaking workshops, lectures and other events aimed at young people. This year, HEAD-Genève is presenting in this context the Beyond the Clock exhibition, bringing together the works of students from the Chair in Watch Design and the Master Media Design.

Les expositions du GPHG donnent lieu chaque année à une réflexion scénographique renouvelée. Comment exposer jusqu’à 90 garde-temps contemporains - petits objets complexes et secrets, concentrés d’art, de design, de savoir-faire et de techniques - de manière à la fois neutre, sobre, originale, immersive et didactique ?
Cette réflexion scénographique a été initiée dès 2014 par la direction du GPHG, en collaboration avec le studio preorder&soldout. Elle a pris son envol en 2017 avec l’arrivée dans l’aventure de Xavier Dietlin et de son invention du free access, permettant d’abandonner les cloches de verre des vitrines traditionnelles tout en offrant un système de sécurité breveté.
Fruits de ce travail collaboratif, des éléments de présentation inédits repoussent chaque année les limites de la créativité, repensant la déambulation et l’interaction du public tout en proposant un récit global.
Each year, the GPHG’s exhibitions give rise to an ongoing and renewed scenographic thought process. How does one display up to 90 contemporary timepieces – small, complex and secret objects, concentrated blends of art, design, expertise and techniques – in a way that is neutral, understated, original, immersive and educational?
This scenographic reflection was initiated in 2014 by the GPHG management in collaboration with studio preorder&soldout. It took off in 2017 with the arrival of Xavier Dietlin and his invention of free access, making it possible to abandon the glass-domed displays in traditional shop windows while providing a patented security system.
Each year, the fruits of this collaborative effort are new display elements pushing creative boundaries, rethinking the way people move around and interact, while introducing an overall narrative.

En tant que sponsor depuis 15 ans, pourquoi soutenezvous le GPHG ?
C’est une initiative qui nous avait été proposée à l’origine par feu Carlo Lamprecht, le président de la Fondation du Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie et à l’époque membre de notre conseil d’administration. Carlo nous avait proposé cette idée qui faisait le lien d’une certaine manière entre la haute technicité de l’horlogerie et celle de nos développements immobiliers, mais aussi qui permettait de faire connaître notre région lémanique, berceau de cette belle industrie
À quand remonte votre passion pour l’horlogerie ?
Cette passion remonte à ma tendre enfance puisque je devais avoir 7 ou 8 ans lorsque j’ai reçu ma première montre qui était à l’époque une Swatch Flik Flak que j’ai tout de suite adorée. Puis, c’est vers le milieu de l’adolescence que j’ai ressenti un fort désir de posséder un jour une ou plusieurs belles montres mécaniques, à l’image des grands de ce monde.
Quelle valeur de l’horlogerie résonne le plus en vous ?
Le pont entre les valeurs du savoir-faire ancestral qui se transmet de génération en génération, avec la passion pour l’innovation dont les limites sont sans cesse repoussées. Un lien que nous retrouvons dans nos créations immobilières, s’agissant la même perfection vers laquelle nous tendons et que nous souhaitons fournir à nos clients.
Si vous étiez une complication horlogère, laquelle serait-ce ?
Je pense que je serais la mesure du temps cosmique, qui permet d’observer les étoiles. C’est à ce niveau de technicité que certaines extraordinaires créations horlogères vont jusqu’à flirter avec la relativité du temps, telle que décrite par Albert Einstein.

As a sponsor for 15 years, why do you support the GPHG?
This initiative was originally proposed to us by the late Carlo Lamprecht, the president of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie Foundation and a former member of our board of directors. Carlo suggested this idea, which, in a way, bridged the high technicality of watchmaking with that of our real estate developments. It also gave the opportunity to promote our Lake Geneva region.
When did your passion for watchmaking begin?
My passion of watchmaking dates back to my childhood, as I must have been 7 or 8 years old when I received my first watch, a Swatch Flik Flak. I instantly fell in love with it, and it was in my mid-teens that I realized I had a strong desire to own one or more beautiful mechanical watches someday.
Which value from the fine watchmaking resonates most with you?
The bridge between the values of ancestral craftsmanship and the passion for innovation in our real estate creations. It is the same perfection we seek and aim to provide to our clients.
If you were a watch complication what would it be?

I think I would be the measure of cosmic time, that allows to observe the stars. At this level of technical prowess, some extraordinary timepieces even flirt with the relativity of time, as described by Albert Einstein.
