The holiday season is one of the best times of the year in Las Vegas. Every experience here just feels a little more ... special, especially if you’re here with your family. And this week’s issue of Las Vegas Magazine is designed to help you find the best Christmas memories in town.

One of the city’s newest attractions, Infinity Museum at Boulevard Mall is a mesmerizing, fascinating experience for all ages. You’ll stargaze, be transported through space and feel like you’re in a snow globe—all without leaving the venue (“Picture-Perfect Moments,” p. 32). And best of all, the destination has added a very cool surprise feature for the season.

One of the Strip’s longest-running shows, Tournament of Kings at Excalibur, pulls out all the stops this week to bring in a winter wonderland with ’Twas the Knight. Even if you’ve been to the show many times, this is one you really don’t want to miss (“The Christmas Spirit,” p. 18).

Another holiday show perfect for families is Leona Lewis’ A Starry Night at Voltaire at The Venetian Resort (“Lighting Up the Night,” p. 20).

If you’re looking for a holiday-themed dining experience, we’ve collected some of the absolute best in town, from an Italian-themed Feast of Seven Fishes menu to over-the-top desserts and even afternoon teas (“Make It Merry,” p. 34).

Speaking of Italian dining, don’t miss two of the absolutely best examples of this cuisine on the Strip: Brezza at Resorts World Las Vegas (“Slip Into an Italian Dream,” p. 28) and the recently rebranded Stanton Social Italian, formerly Stanton Social Prime, at Caesars Palace (“Magnificent Makeover,” p. 12)

We’re so glad you decided to spend your holidays in Las Vegas. And we’re also glad we get to share with you the gifts this city has to offer.

Magnificent Makeover

This popular Strip restaurant changes its name, but not its delicious approach to comfort cuisine

The sweet spot between respect and reinvention is where chef Chris Santos builds his menus. His latest chapter is Stanton Social Italian, where classic Italian cuisine gets a distinct twist. Picture New York City’s Little Italy with the energy of the Strip.

Santos made his name with the original Stanton Social in 2005, serving globally inspired small plates on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The Caesars Palace location opened as Stanton Social Prime, a steakhouse concept, in 2023, but this latest Italian evolution feels just right. The restaurant maintains the communal, shareable spirit that made the original a destination, but now channels it through Italian-American comfort food with Santos’ signature playfulness.

The menu opens like a love letter to familiar Italian-American classics, then veers into unexpectedly delightful territory. Steak tartare Piedmontese, pictured, arriving flavored with olive oil, lemon and truffle arancini. Hamachi crostata reframes antipasti through a Japanese lens. House-made cavatelli shows up dressed in wagyu Bolognese, because truly, what dish couldn’t use a wagyu upgrade?

“This fresh and whimsical approach to the menu maintains the balance of

creativity and familiarity that defines the brand’s communal dining experience, while embracing a style of cuisine that’s universally loved,” Santos has said.

Tableside, there’s all kinds of magic going on. Extra crispy chicken Parmigiana is finished with a pour of mozzarella fondue, the kind of dramatic presentation that makes people at the table next to you crane their necks. Then there’s the Super Tomahawk, built to steal every bit of attention in the room: It’s prepared tableside and cognac flambéed right before your eyes. (Oh, the drama! Subtlety left the building approximately three courses ago.)

And don’t skip dessert. Limoncello tiramisu layers lemon curd with citrus mascarpone mousse for a bright finish, while the Spumoni “Milkshake” arrives as an edible chocolate cup filled with pistachio mousse, cherry compote and brownie bites. No matter how old you are, this one’s a crowd pleaser.

Stanton Social Italian understands what generations of New York Italian restaurants have always known: The best meals happen when the table is crowded and nobody’s in a hurry to leave. Bring your people and stay awhile. –Genevie Durano

A Tell-All Tour

This specialty downtown museum highlights Las Vegas’ cinema history in a striking display

This is an excursion worth taking while in town! Jaunt downtown to The Neon Museum for its new Viva Las Vegas! movie tour, led by one of the staff’s knowledgeable guides. (Many of them are Las Vegas born and raised, and have a wealth of knowledge and anecdotes to share.)

The tour is about 45 minutes and starts in the museum’s lobby, which is the actual lobby of the La Concha Motel, which opened in 1961 just three miles down the road. The tour is a great mix of cinema history and city history, all told based on the signs that you’ll stroll past in the museum’s Neon Boneyard. (There are a total of 30 illuminated pieces in the boneyard.)

Cool history tidbits include that the Moulin Rouge, the country’s first racially integrated casino, opened in 1955 (sign pictured). The famed Rat Pack would often perform here late into the night. The Aladdin lamp stood atop the Aladdin Hotel, where Elvis and Priscilla got married in 1967. The Red Barn sign helped illuminate one of the city’s first gay bars in the late-’60s, and it’s also where one of the first drag shows, RB Follies, was staged.

The Desert Inn sign sat on the property that Howard Hughes ended up purchasing after checking in to the top two floors beginning in 1966. It became the recluse’s permanent home until 1970, when he left the room on a stretcher to be flown to the Bahamas, never to return.

Cinema history includes the Plaza sign—the property appeared in Diamonds Are Forever, Back to the Future Part II, Cool World and Casino. The Riviera sign’s history includes the filming of movies like the original Ocean’s Eleven, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Jason Bourne. And you can view the giant 82-foot Hard Rock Café guitar, appearing in a scene from Honey, I Blew Up the Kid

So many more stories and fun facts fill the rest of the tour—time well spent for those that want to learn a little more about Las Vegas and its starring role in pop culture. –Kiko Miyasato

Clap-Clap-Clap-Clap!

Strip attraction perfectly replicates a beloved ’90s show

“Do you remember the one where ...” If you’ve heard those words before (the ones fans of a certain ’90s megahit show use to identify their favorite episodes), you’ll be thrilled to know The FRIENDS™ Experience has opened in Las Vegas.

This interactive exhibit is a bit of a cross between a museum and a television studio set. You’ve probably got the iconic opening sequence to the much-beloved sitcom etched in your brain—the fountain, the couch, the lamp, the dancing—and that’s the first thing you’ll see as you

enter. Plop down and re-create the scene as you take some sweet pics or selfies.

Other locales are often tied to specific episodes, like “The One in Vegas,” where the gang heads to a classic Sin City chapel. (You know the one!) You’ll also find the hall outside Monica’s and Rachel’s apartment (where the infamous cheesecake scene took place). The women’s living room is there in all of its unbelievable expansiveness, with a spot-on replica of Monica’s kitchen and a sweet balcony outside. Hit up Joey and

Chandler’s apartment, where the chairs live in all their glory.

Along the way, you’ll see costumes, a timeline of dating scenarios, graphics and a wealth of details and trivia, like how many cups of coffee each member drank at Central Perk during the run. Speaking of Central Perk, that’s where you’ll end up, an impressive re-creation of the set (even Phoebe’s guitar is here). –Nina King

The Christmas Spirit

Family-friendly show provides a special holiday twist

Do you want to add some extra cheer to your holiday season? ’ Twas the Knight at Excalibur has you covered in more ways than one! The seasonal production by Tournament of Kings takes all the very best elements of the medieval-themed show and adds in a holiday twist.

You will still learn to shout “Huzzah!,” you’ll still eat with your hands and drink from a tankard, you’ll still watch the kings of many nations battling it out for bragging rights and cheer for your king of the evening, and yes, the evil dragon-king will still wreak havoc on the festivities. But there’s definitely more.

It starts as mist rolls across the arena, and a jester and king’s minister wave to the crowd. Then appears a festively dressed lady on a gorgeous white horse, sweeping through the arena, followed by two richly arrayed damsels who assist as lady and horse perform a bit of dressage for you and foreshadow the merriment to come.

Once you’ve been properly put in the festive mood, you’ll get a short tutorial about how to cheer on your king and go through a rousing round of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” adapted to the holiday medieval theme. Then you’re in for a night of

colorful costumes, including a Merlin who looks suspiciously like Father Christmas and an English king (who looks like a king, of course). There’s also a round table descending from above to provide a stage for dancing ladies and valiant knights.

But, of course, the dragon king must make his appearance, using fire as a handy weapon, and it comes out that his shadow is casting a stain over the spirit of Christmas. Perhaps all the revelry and the tournament ahead will clear the air and restore the Christmas spirit. The knights go head-to-head with each other on horseback, throwing javelins and jousting, and end up with feisty hand-to-hand combat. Will your king win? It gets more heated and serious when the dragon knights crash the party in a fiery rage. Can the English king send them packing? (Spoiler: Yes, he can, and the dragon lord gets a smoking present as well.)

As the celebration draws to a close, the spirit of Christmas may send a snow shower drifting down and that gorgeous white horse may be seen once again. Huzzah! –Nina King

Lighting Up the Night

Superstar singer’s all-ages holiday show in Vegas shines

The holidays have a way of bringing out our sentimental side, and for Leona Lewis, that tenderness is woven into every detail of A Starry Night

The British pop icon’s residency at Voltaire in The Venetian Resort is the perfect showcase for the voice that won The X Factor nearly 20 years ago. In her first-ever full U.S. concert series, Lewis transforms the showroom into something wonderfully, surprisingly intimate.

“I have a little girl, so I wanted to create something that everyone could come

and see and watch and feel,” Lewis tells Las Vegas Magazine

The show arrives during an important moment for the singer. Fresh off receiving her OBE for services to music and charity, and with new music percolating in the studio, Lewis is entering a new creative chapter. A Starry Night is her opening statement. What makes the show special is how Lewis has reimagined what a Vegas residency can be—the jazz-inflected brass section, the intimate venue, the emphasis on an up-close experience.

“It’s gonna feel like good vibes, good energy,” she says, describing what is proving to be a master class in vocal control wrapped in holiday cheer.

Running through Jan. 3, the residency offers fans a chance to experience Lewis’ artistry in full force. A Starry Night strikes the delicate balance between superstar and storyteller, between performance and connection. – Genevie Durano

The Possibilities Are Endless

This app offers you the city at your fingertips

Navigating the Strip and surrounding areas can be overwhelming. Luckily, the Vegas2Go app, available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, puts an extensive guide to the city right in the palm of your hand.

Simply set up your account and unlock a vast knowledge of the city, including special deals that you may otherwise miss out on. The app is locational, so once you’ve indicated the resort you’re staying at, toggle to the “selected” tab to see all the dining,

shopping, shows and lounges in the property. Then switch to the “nearby” setting to see all the options that are within a walking distance of your temporary digs.

If you have something specific in mind, perhaps a steakhouse dinner or family-friendly fun, use the search function. Use the red drop-down menu to search everywhere (which will populate results from all over the valley), nearby or in your selected property to find exactly what you’re looking

for. And if it’s a one-off show you seek, check the “events” tab for an up-todate calendar of all the acts rolling through town during your stay.

Oh, and those exclusive offers we mentioned? They’re visible on each listing they apply to, so there’s no need to scour the web for ways to save on your Vegas vacay. Find an offer you’d like to use, select the “save” option and access it when you’re ready under the “saved offers” tab in the “more” menu. Enjoy! –Em Jurbala

The Gift That Keeps Giving

Male revue is making the season merry with themed cocktails and lounge

Cocktails and good times are sure to make you merry this holiday season, but punch it up a little by adding in some hot hunks and themed libations! Instead of heading to the club, make a night of it at Magic Mike Live Las Vegas at SAHARA Las Vegas and get into the holiday spirit, sexy-style.

For the first time, the adults-only male revue has added in some holiday cheer with themed costumes and numbers, as well as transforming the lounge into a holiday party spot with themed cocktails. You’ll have to purchase tickets to the show to enjoy it all, but we say it’s the perfect night out to get in the holiday mood … and then get in the mood (wink, wink).

In 2017, actor and heartthrob Channing Tatum—who starred in the Magic Mike franchise—helped bring the movie to the stage as co-producer and director, and while it has changed properties a couple of times, it found its permanent home at SAHARA Las Vegas in 2021 in a theater built for the show. That is one of the things that sets this male revue apart from others: Guests don’t just stare at performances onstage—the men perform around the whole theater, which is designed to look

like a two-story club. Magic Mike Live Las Vegas aims to empower women and teach them about what they deserve and what they should want from a partner. The show also makes it a point to celebrate females—from head to toe and heart to mind. But don’t fret, it’s not all PG; the show is packed with all the

sweaty, shirtless and sexually charged vignettes you could want.

Combined with some of the hottest music hits—and a nice touch is some of the guys perform live music numbers with instruments, too—impressive dance numbers show off all the guys’ phenomenal skills while they make

moves that’ll make the most liberal of women blush. The whole theater continually erupts with shrieks of delight and thunderous applause after each number. Fake dollar bills are provided so you can make it rain for some of your favorite dancers.

One of those dancers includes Emmett (pictured). He joined the show two years ago and is a featured dancer in several numbers, including one where he plays the piano. “People that come to the show might have a lot going on in their life, and you can come see a show like this and have a moment—be able to relax, to feel catered to and seen,” Em-

The lounge also has a full bar with specialty cocktails, mocktails, beers, seltzers, shots, champagnes and wines. Book the VIP experience for an extra $39. You’ll get to chill in a private lounge after the show and meet some of the guys while enjoying a complimentary glass of prosecco. A professional photographer will also be snapping pics of you and the guys, and you’ll receive access to the album for free.

mett says. “That’s the most beautiful part of the show, I think. If you’re able to make guests leave the theater with more hope or love, I think you’re doing your job as a performer.”

Emmett is holding one of the four specially themed cocktails, the

Straw-Merry Margarita, with blanco tequila, triple sec, strawberry rose syrup, cranberry juice and fresh lime juice, topped with rosé prosecco and garnished with a salt rim, rosemary sprig and dried cranberries. Also on the menu is the Jingle Bellini, with white peach purée, vanilla liqueur, prosecco and a powdered sugar rim with candy cane garnish; and the Xmas Kiss shot, with RumChata peppermint cream liqueur, chocolate liqueur and a crushed candy cane rim. There is also a nonalcoholic option (although you can add vanilla vodka—it’s delish!), the Naughty or Nice?, made with espresso, cream and brown sugar syrup, garnished with a powdered sugar rim, chocolate flakes and a mini candy cane. Enjoy all four while chilling pre- or postshow inside the holiday-decorated lounge and make it a true night of magical Christmas cheer. –Kiko Miyasato

San Francisco native Federico Flores has worked for Disneyland, Universal Studios, Cirque du Soleil and various Las Vegas attractions like SlotZilla and FLY LINQ Zipline, in roles that include dancing, acting, management and creative.

But what has been his favorite role? “This, this is my favorite job out of all the jobs I’ve had.” Wow! Flores is the guest service associate at Omega Mart at AREA15.

“It’s about the connection; when you are connecting one on one with people it’s much more powerful,” he said.

He joined Meow Wolf, the artist collective that built Omega Mart, almost four years ago, and his job is to “connect the guest to the Meow Wolf experience, the artists and the deep narrative that is going on at (Omega Mart),” Flores said. “I elevate the experience.” He’s elevated it so much that he has also become the game master, a position that went viral a few years ago. “I deepen the narrative and deepen the connection to the artists, the art and this experience as a whole.”

what feeds Flores’ own creative soul, he explained.

“A big part of the Meow Wolf philosophy is inspiring creativity and venturing out into the world to inspire other people, and I’ve taken that to heart,” he said. “So when people come in and I see that spark or interest, I take that and move them through the experience that allows them to foster their creativity. Brezza mixes seasonal ingredients and signature dishes for wide appeal

If you are a fan of Italian food, as I am, you’ll find one of the best options in Las Vegas at Resorts World Las Vegas. Brezza, a relaxed yet elegant destination in the District, is helmed (and owned) by chef Nicole Brisson, who over the last few years has created a home away from home for her guests,

and it is one restaurant I recommend time and time again, both for the ambience and the food.

One of the first things you should do when arriving for lunch or dinner is to order a drink. Yes, day drink if you must! Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and happy hour is from 3-6 p.m. daily in the attractive little lounge near the restaurant’s entrance. Two specialty cocktails to try are the Succosa spritz, a light sip of Dharma gin, Chinoa passion fruit liqueur, lime and passion fruit, with bubbly prosecco and ginger ale. The mezcal Negroni is also surpris-

Cappellacci oreganata

ingly light, with Lobos 1707 Artesanal mezcal, Campari and Carpano Antico. Wine by the glass and bottled beer, like the award-winning Italian Birrificio del Ducato Verdi imperial stout, will hold up well to rich dishes.

The appetizers and salads here are sublime. If, like me, you’ve been to Brezza a few times, absolutely get your favorites: the heirloom caprese, a marvel of simplicity and deliciousness with buffalo mozzarella, basil pesto and a conserved tomato, something Brisson created to pay homage to time she spent working in kitchens in Italy;

and the charred octopus, served with gigante beans and cured pork jowl. Pasta dishes bring a variety of rich flavor, from bucatini alla amitriciana

Brezza presents its Feast of the Seven Fishes. The special menu features baked clams ’nduja, pan-seared scallops with pork frizzérati, and whole branzino with eggplant caponata, among several other dishes; it’s not to be missed.

with guanciale and Fresno chile to cappellacci oreganata with cauliflower, spinach and capers. Some dishes change seasonally, reflecting both available produce and seasonal suitability, such as the heritage squash agnolotti, a magnificent dish with trumpet mushrooms, walnut, sage and brown butter. It is so very rich and decadent, and every bite leaves you with a smile. (And if a special is offered, absolutely order it. A simple dish of spaghetti and truffle is sure to make you swoon!)

Should you be a fan of the beef, you won’t want to overlook chef Brisson’s dry-aged steaks—cuts that are aged up to 130 days. Brisson is an expert in this area, having served as executive chef for a well-known Vegas steakhouse for many years. Among your carne options are a porterhouse, tomahawk, Cape Grim New York strip and a bone-in New York Strip; filet mignon, chicken cacciatore and braised short rib. Add contorni like the mascarpone mashed potatoes, with a poached egg, guanciale and pickled peppers for a continuation of the richness—the egg is an amazing addition for the starchy side. The beans and greens with escarole and Bloomsdale spinach tastes like home indeed

(although Brisson’s version may be a bit better than Mom’s).

Order a cup of coffee while you wait for dessert; it’s such a civilized feeling. The pumpkin panna cotta with pepitas is silky smooth, while the New Yorkstyle cheesecake is heaven, a rich yet easy mouthful to savor.

Immersive attraction Infinity Museum stretches the boundaries of reality

REALITY HAS BOUNDARIES. Infinity Museum doesn’t.

Located at Boulevard Mall with a convenient entrance from outside, this immersive museum gives you the sensation of existing outside the laws of physics. If you’re familiar with the work of Yayoi Kusama, the legendary Japanese artist who has spent decades

exploring infinity through mirrors, then you’ll recognize the DNA here.

Infinity Museum has seven installations, each one a collaboration with artists from around the globe. (Through Dec. 31, spring for the VIP ticket and you’ll get special glasses that reveal Christmas trees materializing in the endless reflections.)

After slipping on the required booties to protect the reflective floors, you move through the installations sequentially, but you can go back to any room as many times as you want. Some people zip through in 30 minutes. Others—like the family I saw sprawled on the floor, laughing and taking photos from every conceivable angle—linger longer. This is absolutely a place you can bring kids, family or a date.

Each of the seven installations offers its own portal to infinity:

Stargazing is a dreamlike room that simulates the vastness of the universe. With mirrors that create depth that doesn’t exist, the stars here feel endless, as if you’re swimming in an infinite galaxy. (Use those glasses to spot Christmas trees floating in space.)

Sphere Symphony constructs its infinity through perfectly placed spheres that seem to extend in every direction. There are loose spheres—giant balloons that magically change colors— on the ground that you can play with and bounce across the walls, creating a

delightfully immersive playground that brings out the kid in all of us.

The Mirrored Dodecahedron the world’s first walk-in version of this complex 12-faced shape—is a jewel box of geometric wonder. Every angle offers a new composition, a new way of seeing yourself fractured across infinite transformations.

ports you across the universe’s past, present and future. This is as close as you’re going to get to experiencing one.

My favorite is the Mirror Maze, which challenges your sense of perception. Inside this labyrinth of reflective surfaces, you’re given a pool noodle to poke the walls, figuring out which surfaces are mirrors and which are open

If you’ve been missing the fleeting northern lights that have made appearances across the U.S., just step into Aurora Reverie. This room surrounds you with waves of colors that dance like a celestial light show. With the Christmas displays, it’s even more magical. Lie down on the floor and watch as snowflakes and twinkling lights rain down on you. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like being inside a snow globe, now you’ll know.

In the Wormhole, set aside 20 minutes to watch the show, which trans-

space that you can walk through. It’s a geometric adventure unlike anything else you’ve ever experienced.

End your tour in Four Seasons, the world’s largest walk-in kaleidoscope, which interprets spring, summer, fall and winter in all their mirrored glory. Walking through is trippy and disorienting in the best possible way.

The holiday displays run through the end of the year, which means there’s still time to step out of regular reality and into something stranger, more beautiful, more infinite.

The weather’s great— go and experience Southern Nevada’s outdoor paradise

Some of the most spectacular outdoor adventures in the American West are hiding in plain sight, just beyond the Strip’s glittering lights. From towering red rocks and snow-capped mountains to ancient petroglyphs and natural hot springs, the Las Vegas area offers an embarrassment of riches for those willing to trade the casino floor for a trail. Whether you’re looking for a morning hike or a multiday expedition into some of Nevada’s most remote wilderness, there’s a surprise at every turn.

to find world-class outdoor recreation. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area sits just 17 miles west of the Strip, offering over 20 hiking trails that range from leisurely family strolls to challenging scrambles up towering sandstone formations. The 13-mile scenic drive provides awesome photo ops around every curve, while serious climbers tackle routes that have attracted adventurers from around the globe (hello, Free Solo -er Alex Honnold). Don’t miss the Calico Tanks trail—the panoramic views of the Vegas Valley from the top are simply incredible.

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park
Lee Canyon

For a dose of history, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park , adjacent to Red Rock, offers a glimpse into Old West ranching life at the historic ranch where Howard Hughes once lived. You can explore preserved buildings, tackle easy hiking trails and occasionally catch living-history demonstrations in this picturesque mountain setting.

When summer temperatures soar past 110 degrees in the valley, locals know exactly where to go: Mount Charleston. This high-elevation oasis boasts more than 60 miles of hiking trails winding through fragrant pine and aspen forests. Cathedral Rock is a must-do hike for all levels, but for those feeling ambitious, the 18-mile Charleston Peak—at 11,916 feet and the highest point in Southern Nevada—is a bucket-list feat. When the snow comes, these mountains are a sledding playground for kiddos and adults alike.

Speaking of snow: Lee Canyon, adjacent to Mount Charleston, serves as Nevada’s premier ski destination. During winter months, you can hit the slopes for skiing and snowboarding, then return during warmer seasons for world-class mountain biking trails and chairlift rides that offer awesome views.

Back in the valley, the Wetlands Nature Preserve is an unexpected urban oasis where boardwalks and trails wind through a thriving desert wetland ecosystem. It’s a birdwatcher’s paradise: Bring binoculars to spot herons, ducks and migratory birds—more than 200 species have been recorded. The miles of paved paths make it perfect for cycling, too.

Wetlands Nature Preserve
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

For prehistory buffs, check out Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, one of the Southwest’s most significant petroglyph sites. More than 300 panels contain thousands of ancient rock art images, and the easy 1.1-mile interpretive trail leads to spectacular red sandstone formations—all just a short drive from Las Vegas.

Water lovers should head to Willow Beach, where you can launch kayaks for a scenic paddle toward Hoover Dam or the stunning turquoise waters of Emerald Cove. The Colorado River here offers excellent rainbow trout fishing, while the beach area provides picnic spots and easy access for swimming.

Of course, no discussion of Las Vegas water recreation would be complete without mentioning Lake Mead America’s largest reservoir offers endless possibilities: Rent houseboats for multiday adventures from Callville Bay Marina; explore the lake by powerboat or jet ski from Las Vegas Boat Harbor at Hemenway Harbor; paddleboard in protected coves; swim at Boulder Beach; or explore hidden hot springs tucked into canyon walls. For a land-based adventure, hike or bike the Historic Railroad Trail. Five massive tunnels carved through the mountains in the 1930s during Hoover Dam’s construction now form a spectacular 3.7-mile trail with panoramic views of the lake below.

the adventures get even more spectacular. Valley of Fire State Park , Nevada’s oldest, showcases otherworldly landscapes of brilliant red sandstone formations and ancient petroglyphs. Key trails include Fire Wave for those Instagram-worthy shots, Mouse’s Tank for impressive rock art and White Domes for slot canyon exploration that feels like stepping onto another planet.

For a genuine Wild West experience, head to Nelson, a ghost town where original buildings, vintage cars and mining equipment lie scattered throughout the landscape. The nearby Techatticup Mine offers fascinating underground tours into the area’s mining past.

the rewards are extraordinary. China Date Ranch serves as your gateway to Death Valley, where you can sample fresh dates, learn about desert agriculture and stock up on supplies before heading into one of America’s most extreme national parks. (The delicious date shakes alone are worth the trip.)

Death Valley National Park itself offers experiences found nowhere else on Earth. Drive through Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America at

282 feet below sea level. Explore the colorful mineral deposits of Artist’s Palette, hike through dramatic Golden Canyon and slide down massive sand dunes. Camping under Death Valley’s star-filled skies ranks among the best outdoor experiences anywhere.

For art lovers, stop in Beatty to visit the outdoor Goldwell Open Air Museum, featuring large-scale installations including the famous “Last Supper” sculpture. The small town also serves as another gateway to Death Valley.

Road trip enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the ET Highway, Nevada’s most famous stretch of asphalt. This 98-mile section of Highway 375 cuts through desolate, weirdly beautiful desert landscape. Stop at the quirky Little A’Le’Inn in Rachel for a burger, keep your eyes peeled for UFOs and experience the vast, empty beauty of the Nevada desert. The highway runs along the infamous Area 51, the top-secret military installation that’s fueled decades of speculation and conspiracy theories. the lights of Las Vegas take on a different glow. Sure, the city knows how to put on a show, but the real spectacle lies just beyond the neon—in slot canyons and dark skies, ancient rock art and endless desert horizons.

Finally, there’s Great Basin National Park , arguably Nevada’s crown jewel. Yes, it’s a five-hour drive from Vegas, but experiencing some of the darkest skies in the continental U.S. makes every mile worthwhile. During the day, explore the otherworldly Lehman Caves, hike to pristine alpine lakes or summit Wheeler Peak, Nevada’s second-tallest mountain. Fair warning: It’s a butt-kicker. Pack a tent—Wheeler Campground might just be the most beautiful campground in the entire state.

Universal Horror Unleashed offers a variety of cocktails to get you in a macabre mood

Just across Interstate 15 from the neon-lit Las Vegas Strip sits a giant, rundown and eerie warehouse. The contents (and its inhabitants) inside are the stuff of nightmares, scares that’ll keep you awake at night. Nope, there’s no pleasant dreams inside Universal Horror Unleashed at AREA15, the city’s newest immersive attraction that will turn your hair white and your bones cold. Four year-round haunted houses inspired by Universal’s cinematic horrors comes to life: Universal Monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: the Reaping and The Exorcist: Believer. But the frights don’t freeze there. From the moment you step inside the warehouse, there are spooky sights and sounds at every turn. Amid all the horrifying (and darn fun!) houses and interactive areas, 21-and-over guests can gain some liquid courage by visiting UHU’s three distinct watering holes: Jack’s Alley, The Boiler Bar and Premiere House. Each bar offers a menu of creatively fun and terrifying handcrafted

cocktails and a few exclusive ones.

“Creating these cocktails was an incredibly fun and collaborative process,” said Darci Davalos, Universal Horror Unleashed assistant director of food and beverage. “We worked closely with local mixologists and our team in Hollywood, tasting our way through more than 75 different recipes to find the perfect lineup. The most exciting part was imagining the personalities behind each drink and bringing them to life through bold flavors, unexpected ingredients and immersive presentation. From smoky reveals to custom drinkware, every detail was inspired by the sinister world of Universal Horror Unleashed. We wanted each cocktail to feel like a story in a glass, and the result is a collection that’s as theatrical and thrilling as the experience itself.”

Check out three standout cocktails as well as Davalos’ descriptions: Green Dread from Premiere House, Severed Pear from Boiler Bar and Jack’s Juice from Jack’s Alley.

Bourbon, spiced pear, baking spice and aromatic bitters

“A horrifying twist on the Old-Fashioned, it’s equal parts cocktail and performance. Served in a custom barrel lantern, it invites guests to lift the lid and release a swirl of aromatic smoke. Within lies a rich, spiced blend of bourbon and pear, deepened by baking spices and bitters.”

“This eerie elixir is a shareable showstopper, conjured for six brave souls. (It) balances the herbaceous depth of Luxardo Del Santo with the tropical sweetness of coconut syrup, sharpened by a splash of lime. Smooth and sinister, it finishes with a silky chill that lingers like a ghostly whisper.”
